I get the issue of Rodimus being older than Optimus. That's not something that makes sense to me either. However, as I mentioned above, Energon/Superlink already brought this concept to fruition, and way back when Bay first started on the movie-verse he said he would look at every Transformers franchise for characters, concepts, and story points. So, when a previous poster brought up the possibility of Rodimus being the old bot in the teaser, after thinking about it for a bit and looking something up, it made sense. And it's not a "Bay thing" if it is Rodimus, so you might want to take this up with the Energon or Superlink writers (not sure if this was an English change or an original character background from the Anime).

not too concerned with the him being older than optimus issue. I actually remember that from the cartoon and was kind of OK with that, but it's the look more than anything. It just doesn't do Rodimus any justice. Plus I've noticed that so far the old bots are really goofy (example thy name is Jetfire..) which I don't think would fit Rodimus or any of the other above mentioned bots....except Wreck-Gar.

That is a concern, though I enjoyed this version of Jetfire. Hopefully this new old bot will have the right tone to fit with the mystery and discovery of the story.

I have always said from day one that this bot is Vector Prime, but nobody knows for sure I understand. All we know is that he is a Prime, you can tell from his mark of the Primes on his right chest(your left) in the trailer at around time 2:03. Nice work on the image overlay in your video. All of your guesses could be correct, as all could be Primes.

I'm not sure if you remember the big debate I had with "SaberPrime" over the issue.

Bay gave a tv interview for an Australian [I believe] tv show covering the opening of the first film.

In the interview they asked him about the tank name issue and how the writers/producers/Hasbro claimed it was a mistakje.

Bay claimed it was no mistake, he thought the name was cooler so he insisted it be used.

so ya honestly i think it is rodimus(judging from the pic sense i haven't watched the teaser)

Have you guys heard the news about the Ferarri's name being "Dreadbox" and the big re/blue fire/rescue trucks is Sentinel Prime, so most now are saying thats who the bot in this trailer is. I just dont see Bay changing his color from yellow to this red/blue truck. Her is the link with the info, BS or not you decide.

You know that's a very interesting point, If my guess is true about Vector Prime and like you brought up he does have the power to control time to some extent then what if the whole plot of the movie focuses on the autobots and decepts both trying to get to him first to try to reactivate him to use his time travel powers to change something, too far fetched? remember the rumor a long time ago about this film was that it would focus on the time travel idea. I mean imdb says the summary/plot is a spacerace so that would sound about right.

The pnly person it could be would be Alpha Trion but then again my second guess would be that its ultra magnus

I do see a likeness there . I guess this a thankyou of some kind as wasn't Cullen meant to have a cameo of sorts in ROTF which never happened.

so i've been thinking for a while now on who this bot is and the only bot to me that fits the looks is rodimus. So when one of the ads with Rodimus comes up compare them, but don't compare the face compare the the red healmut parts. So does it look Rodimus now.

also from what i've noticed the colors on most of the main charecters heads are the same as their G1 vesions

It shouldnt be Rodimus Prime being that the scenes in this trailer are 40 plus years prior to the first 2 films and Rodimus doesnt take over leadership until after Optimus, but then again thihs is Bay we are talking about who isnt known to stick to any type of G1, but still it shouldnt be Rodimus as the timeline wouldnt make sense, still going with Vector Prime or Alpha Trion.

Why not Rodimus. he would make the the movie a lot better. Rodimus and shockwave could fight. And for the part that you said about rodimus becoming leader after optimus, there was a series were Rodimus was never in full command at a point in the story, and that series was energon.And from interveiws with bay he said that he was going to use ideas from all the transformers series. Also it should be a character that all big time tf fans know and a character that young tf fans will like. Well... Rodimus Fits it perfect

another way to see what charecter it is ,is to go to google images and type in "transformers dark of the moon **"
**= the character you think it is if the pic comes up more with Rodimus typed in it will probably be Rodimus.

But you know, even after nearly 4 years people still don't seem to get that.

And I know we discussed this before, during one of the Unicron trilogies Rodimus actually came BEFORE Optimus....like burn said....NOT G1.

well for me energon was awesome. the robots were the only good part though. Also you've got one thing wrong Rodimus and optimus were the same age. But there were also really good things about this serise which were : a new shockwave(shockblast), a new Omega supreme, three new combiners(the maximus's), and best a better acurate g1 starscream.

Ya no kidding there people don't get it that g1 is not the best serise. none of them are. and the people that can't stand stand any tf not being g1 HAVE PROBLEMS
