In all seriousness, I never got all the uproar about the flames. I've been a fan since the bots came out in the 80's. I saw the picture of his alt mode when it came out and said, "Oh cool, they put flames on him".

Where I work is in an industrial park, I see semi's 12 to 13 hours a day. And I've seen quite a few with flames. As a matter a fact, not too long ago, I had seen a Peterbuilt that was a very similar model to what Prime was in the movie, but it was black with silver ghost flames. Looked awesome, woulda snapped a pic, but my camera phone is on the fritz.
I do think it depends on who owns said semi. The ones I see with custom paint jobs(and I do see alot of 'em) seem to be owner/operator riggs. Company riggs tend not to have any real custom paint jobs, outside of very minimal pint striping, and company logos.
