Roboto750 wrote:This sounds cool, but how in the heck do you premier a video game? Does someone play it on the big screen and everyone in attendance watches? A mixture of promos? A chance to play? I've heard of a release party being held for video games, but am not familiar with a "premier". I'm not bashing it, I'm just curious.
Yeah, that threw me off to.
You can't actually "premier" a game. It's different from a movie. You can do a tech demo. You can show it off at E3. But premier, you cannot.

Think arcade, but with the same game. Most likely there will be a band blaring in the background playing music and drinks/food. It's more or less a PR move to get the hype up for people to buy the game.
Example:
One person has pictures of themselves on their MySpace at the premiere. They're surrounded by drunk people and everyone looks like they're having fun.
The people who see said pictures associate it with the game and go out and buy it. It's a sneaky means of marketing.
I'm not going to enter, because MySpace scares me and I'm sure I can find a copy of the game when it hits stores.

Sounds like fun, except for the drinking (I just don't do it). I could see them getting Stan Bush to preform, since they seem to be doing the movie game with a G1 spin to it.
