How big was the X-Transbots wheelie mold? legends size? Commander size? I dout it was Deluxe size.

It's a minibot scaled for the Masterpiece lineup, so it'll most likely be slightly larger than most deluxes.

About Commander size. The X-Transbots web site said Ollie was 4.64 inches tall.

not sure Turbo is one of the GoBots I'd want to have on my shelves, but I like that someone is bringing them to us in Classics form, get us a Cy-Kill and then we'll talk!

What do you think? A Cy-Kill from Prime Arcee? Maybe a Junkion? Did you get the Movieverse homage to Cy-Kill, Chopsaw?

I'm liking the move to GoBots homages. I also think it's be cool to get something a little more true to the GoBots animation models...

Turbo appeared in one brief speaking part in a TFCC story. So TECHNICALLY Turbo is a TF character.

since the Minibot repaint set basically set the Gobots as yet another alternate universe in the TF multiverse and Hasbro owns the IP all of them are TF characters.

I'll probably get this.
It would be cool if he had the molded glasses. If he doesn't mine will likely get a custom set added post-haste.

If someone did a Gobots lineup, I'd definitely buy into it.

Probably not every character, but I suspect everyone has their favorites, with Cy-Kill & Leadeer-1 on most people's lists.

I would probally get this and the other Gobot homage from their Huffer/Pipes mold. I don't think a scale has really been established for Gobots yet, so any height can be used with classics scale figures.

I always thought this Arcee could work as Cy-Kill if painted and kitbashed/modded a bit:

I had to look him up... Ah, yes, Cylon Raider...er, I mean Pathfinder was pretty cool. I never had him. I was mostly stuck with the lil guys, even if a bigger mold was available, like Spay-C. I think that was even one of those snap together model kits. Ah, the good 'ol days...

Yep, Pathfinder was a tiny fellow. I had both him and Cosmos as a kid. I always found Pathfinder's sleeker design and darker, more metallic tones to be much cooler than Cosmos. His bot mode was way better too. Go figure, at least one case where the Gobots actually outdid TFs. If I'm honest there were many such cases though. I mean compare the Super Gobots Cy-Kill to G1 Megatron. Megs looks odd and lanky while Cy-Kill pulls off both his bot and alt modes quite successfully, even with that massive 2-wheel backpack of his (which made for a very nifty transformation for its time, too).

I really do miss the Gobots and I hope that they start bringing them back in Classics style. I'll definitely buy this, I just hope it's not a one-off kinda deal and that this is just a taste of things to come, including new molds made just for the Gobots. It's just as I said about Planet X: everyone is doing Classics/Generations TFs based on G1 characters these days. The market is getting too saturated. So the smaller companies that want to survive need to find their own niche. For Planet X it's WfC/FoC. Who knows, maybe for X-Transbots it can be the Gobots. They did already do the Bad Boy repaint of their not-Powerglide (though an all new mold would have been better of course). The extensive retooling of Wheelie into Turbo here really works and I like where they're going with it.

It's a neat idea, and Turbo was definitely one of my favorite GoBots, but he's holding a gun in that picture. GoBots don't need no stinkin' guns!

Damn right! They shoot lasers...from their FISTS!!!! (Hey, if TFs can shoot them from their headlights, why can't Gobots shoot em from their hands

?)
