What theyre gonna say about the SOCCENT airbase attack.

I was just reading the thread on covering up Mission City, but a few people in the military but not of high enough security to know are gonna want to know why a prominent air base just vanished. And if they say it was something to do with whatever terrorist threat happens to be active, then people are gonna ask about why there haven't been any raised security or offensive measures.

So these terrorists have the weapons to obliterate an entire military base and the government aren't mobilising a counter attack (because they know they have bigger problems), people are gonna see something very wrong.

And of course, the attack was televised. And it was a big deal. I think they actually mentioned the weapons system being highly advanced in the address, I honestly can't remember. Either way, the military soon found out exactly what they were up against, and they couldn't have made that public (assuming Bay's government is the black project, secrets, area 51 kind he makes them out to be with S7). So what would they say? Would they just not follow it up and hope everybody forgets? And then for those who DO start asking questions, well, see the above.

What do you think they'd do/say about SOCCENT with the general public?

They'll probably tell everybody it was the WMD's they were looking for.

They mentioned that they raised security levels in the movie.

And, even still, how do you know it didn't happen "off to the side"

It's a movie, why knit pick it to death? If they followed up on every little detail, we'd still be in the theater right now not even half way through it.

Granted, but I'm not saying that should have followed up everything, I'm just asking what they might say if they had did.

They never said anything about terrorists, it was always a full fledged organized country with a military unit to back it up is what they thought was going on at first. They mentioned, China,Russia,Iran and maybe one or two more.

Also, don't you remember the scene where the U.S. military ships are shown en route to the Persian gulf ?

They made the same statements to the general public about SOCCENT that it was a country behind these attacks.

Well okay then, but now they know who was really behind it, what can they say? They can't carry on blaming whatever country when it wasn't them, can they.

Sure they can..that's partly why the USA is in Iraq.

I would think the US would just inform everyone of the Decepticons since there had just been a massive battle in the States with giant killer robots.

Why not..........its worked for the U.S. military before But if all else fails all they had to do was blame some new made up radical terrorist group.
