Profile: When Knightbird and a small portion of War Crashers wound up on Axiom Nexus at the bottom of the Universal Stack, she ordered her team to fight until someone gave them answers. This meant that they fought the previous Axiom Nexus Protectorate. They almost won too, until Shockwave entered the fray and offered Knightbird a choice: lead the Protectorate or face execution. After having the situation explained to her, Knightbird chose the former option.
The original Knightbird is no more, instead stands a warrior confident in her fighting abilities and leadership role of the team. Knightbird still believes in honour, and as such, never assassinates anyone. She prefers to face them in a fight. Should an assassination need to happen, there are others on her team that can perform that function. She fights because it’s the only thing she remembers doing with any skill. Knightbird is secretly haunted by the fact that she can never see her former commander or comrades again. As such she seems to be much more aloof and detached from her current team, trying to emulate the instructor/pupil relationship of the Knights Academy of old. She secretly has a deep affection for each one of those under her command, but doesn’t let it show lest it be taken as weakness. She tries very hard to present a strong exterior, and is constantly trying to make herself a better, stronger leader and warrior. Very few are the occasions that she, herself leads her team into battle.
Abilities: Over the past years, Knightbird had learned to follow Baboom’s leadership style and that has made her a very competent leader. She values each of her team members for their individual abilities and is able to use them to the best of their potential. She has been upgraded slightly since agreeing to lead the Protectorate. She now sports a shield generator that can block a good amount of enemy fire, giving her enough time to get into melee combat where she excels. Her double-bladed sword received an upgrade too, using a power boost it can extend into a lance which skewers through almost all cybertronian materials. It isn’t often that she uses it though as it is a drain on the sword’s energon supply. Knightbird’s melee skills have improved over time. She isn’t afraid to charge into battle against a vastly superior number of foes. In pterodactyl mode, boosters have been fitted onto her chassis for extra speed. In this mode, her beak and claws are as sharp as ever, and the shrapnel bombs she drops take out land based targets within a 500 meter radius.
Weaknesses: Knightbird is driven by her memories of Baboom and the others now lost to her. There are times when they overwhelm her, leaving her temporarily helpless. She lacks ranged weapons, relying heavily on her forceshield to prevent damage. If that shield fails, she could wind up in a lot of trouble.
