Profile:
Burn-Out was an Autobot once. Very unpopular though, since his function was Psychological Warfare, and that was 'not a job befitting an Autobot', as most Autobots judged. He was shunned, and was even called 'a Decepticon in a Autobot chassis'. Optimus, Blaster, Kup and only a couple more Autobots were his only supporters. Kup even saved his life once, when his leg got blown off. Under Kup's command, they attempted a sneak attack on a Decepticon lab. His allies tripped an alarm, and he had to shoot down 7 Decepticons to help his comrades. But, when Decepticon back-up arrived, and he was injured, those Autobots he just rescued didn't trust him enough to help him, save 3 members of that team, Scoop, and his 2 Targetmaster partners. The Autobot Scoop loaded Burn-Out into Kup's truck bed, and Kup carried him back under constant cover fire from Scoop and his Targetmaster partners. They actually managed to save Burn-out's life by themselves, bringing him to a repair bay since Burn-Out was missing his entire leg, and leaking Energon at a fatal pace. He was patched-up, and survived, thanks to Kup with Scoop and his 2 Targetmaster partners. Much later, during an attack with his platoon, there was an explosion scattering debris everywhere, and that is when his Autobot Commander had his chance to leave Burn-Out to die, pinned under a pillar, burning to death, thinking he'd be rid of Burn-Out once and for all, thus making him more popular amongst the Autobots. His Platoon Commander could have saved him, but still called a retreat, and called him, an 'acceptable loss'. In the Platoon Commander's words, Burn-Out was a 'just a re-formatted Decepticon', and should just be left to die, slowly and painfully. So, he gave the 'Retreat' order, finally able to rid himself of Burn-Out. Sadly, not everyone felt that way about Burn-Out, though they thought he was dead. A few called it 'sick', 'disgusting', and 'an act of treason'. Kup and Blaster worked diligently on this case, convinced Burn-Out wasn't as bad as everyone else thought, and wanted to prove it. When it was discovered what Burn-Out's Platoon Commander had done, they revealed all the information that they could find, including several other skeletons in the Platoon Commander's closet. Regardless, it was too late, Burn-Out was dead, as far as they knew. It was pointed out by Kup that this 'Platoon Commander' was accepting bribes from Decepticons, Blaster had even intercepted transmissions proving this. Burn-Out, with his knowledge of psychology, had figured this out about his Platoon Commander long before, and since Burn-Out was onto him, his Platoon Commander waited for his chance to get rid of Burn-Out. Burn-Out had tried to expose him, but no one wanted to believe him, as next to no one trusted him, save a tiny amount of generous Autobots like Scoop, Kup and Blaster. When his Platoon Commander found out about his knowledge of the deception, it had just led to Burn-Out's death. Unfortunately for the Autobots, Burn-Out survived, as Nautilus discovered him in a statis-locked state, though horribly damaged. Salvaging him, Nautilus had hand-picked what should be left for him to remember, and what to wipe out, so he'd be an effective psychological warfare soldier, and interrogation agent. During the surgery to save him, he was given a new body, and his mind had been horridly tampered with. The only thing he could remember about his life as an Autobot was how he was treated as an outcast, and left to die. Remembering everything you need to know about the psyche, and how to damage it, and use it like a tool, he vowed revenge. Though the fire had damaged part of his memory circuits, he retained weird, horrifying nightmares where an blue truck is hauling him out of danger, with a orange front-end loader with heavy firepower blasting away at everything around them. Unaware of the steps taken on his behalf since, all Burn-Out remembers is the pain, ridicule, and eventual abandonment the Autobots gave him, and he wants to pay them back in kind. When he was found, in stasis lock on a salvage mission, Nautilus of the Mercenaries could sense this pain and betrayal, and knew he had found a new soldier for his cause. Resistant at first, but with no where else to go, Burn-Out listened, and upon hearing the chance for revenge, signed-up with the Mercenaries. Nautilus had him fully repaired, restored to a new body, with new skills for his advantage to use against his former comrades. With a new opportunity for revenge, the only thing from Burn-Out's Autobot form that remained was his "Hotbox" attachment, allowing him to shoot an opponent with a modified variant of Energon, which would override the logic circuits so the subject would listen to his every word. This would allow him enough manipulation so he could access secrets from the subject, or just let him turn a crazed Autobot loose on other Autobots for his amusement. Burn-Out is loyal to only Nautilus. His ploy is to have a well planned out torturous death for all the Autobot victims he encounters, after he bleeds every drop of information they possess. He plans to use every ounce of information he has on the Autobot psyche, to make them all suffer, and reveal their secrets before they die. Once an Autobot that cared about others, who was very generous despite how he was treated, Burn-Out is now an incredibly guarded individual who has only let Nautilus earn his trust.
Abilities:
Burn-Out has incredible flying skills. Able to use his VTOL jets to change his altitude while not moving an inch horizontally, or flying so fast he can break the sound barrier, he excels at flight, in both speed and skill. His knowledge of the mind, the ego, the psyche and many other aspects of the brain / cerebral processor makes it easy for him to manipulate the individual, be they Human, Cybertronian, or any other species. Can read body language, vocal tones, and even monitor blood / mech fluid pressure through scanners so he can tell if you're lying, stressed, afraid, or anything else that would indicate any sign of mental instability that he could use to his advantage. He has an attachment that allows him to use a variant of Energon to his advantage. The energy pulses this "Hotbox" emits allows him (and only Burn-Out) to override his opponents logic circuits, effectively making them his slave. They will do anything from tell him secret codes, information, and plans, to show him a hidden entrance to the Autobot base, to even forcing them to start slaughtering other Autobots, or making them shoot themselves fatalily for Burn-Out's amusement.
Weaknesses:
Burn-Out cannot trust anyone. Other than Nautilus, he will not listen to anyone. His obsession with revenge against the Autobots can get him into trouble, but his survival instinct, and his wide array of skills always sees him through. Sometimes, his cerebral cortex will recall moments of his Autobot past. These thought processes are confusing for him, and he can become overwhelmed by them. Though he recovers from them rather quickly, it still confuses him as to why they surface. He always has his mind on the mission, but those thoughts can hamper his focus at that moment.
