Flange's life is a quest. A quest which has led him on great adventures and on daring missions. However, this quest is not to defeat the Decepticons, nor is it even a quest to find some great treasure.

Flange is on a never ending quest to play music. There is no goal, but he knows he must continue to play his tunes as long as he functions. Oh, and there's the ego too.
Not only does he play music constantly, but he also speaks music. His speech is literally a sequence of notes, only his teammates Bandwagon and Fretless truly understand his language.
