A question I keep getting asked is "What exactly are we getting from ´Transformers Universe´? Well, feast your eyes on this fine collection of rumors I´ve collected:
The first wave of ´Universe´ will feature all Beast Wars/Machines molds. The 2nd wave will give us a plethora of G2 molds (most likely with G1 character names). And following that, you´ll probably be seeing some repaints of RiD figures.
There will be a quarterly comic published by 3H. This will combine elements of the BotCon comics such and Primevil Dawn and The Wreckers.
Also, the characters will be the same as their ´in continuity´ counterparts. For example, the upcoming Silverbolt figure WILL be THE Silverbolt from BW/BM.
Remember though, these are just rumors (for now) and could change at any time.

The
War Within Trade Paperbackis scheduled for release in June. An interesting note is that, on the cover, ´Volume 1´ is printed. Could this be an indication that Dreamwave may be planning a follow-up to this fan-favorite work? Keep your eyes glued this site for future updates!

UPDATE 2: According to Orson of the 2005 Boards, there´s no truth to this rumor.
UPDATE: Here´s something you probably won´t read on other sites: Several of the ´leaked´ prototype pics are rumored to have been stolen from Dreamwave, rather than Hasbro themselves. This makes for a VERY unhappy Hasbro...
There is some speculation that Hasbro may be looking to give the Transformers license to Devils Due (The Image company that works on Hasbro´s GI Joe series). Neither Dreamwave nor Devils Due would comment on this. Hasbro execs aren´t pleased with declining sales for Transformers: Armada or the generally low sales of Simon Furman´s ´The War Within´. Nor are they pleased with the lateness of some of the books, such as the numerous delays of the Profile Books.
Once again, this is merely speculation at this time. With Generation 1 Volume 2 (War and Peace) coming out in a few weeks, Dreamwave should be tearing up the charts again.

The upcoming Transformers G1 video game (Transformers: Tatataki) is scheduled to come out of June 3rd in the US. For now, it´s only a PS2 release. The game seems to have a fighting system similar to that of PS2´s ´Dynasty Warriors´ series. For those who haven´t played the game, it´s basically an arcade style hack-and-slash. Over 100 Transformers characters are in the game, including the gestalts and Unicron. The game tells the story that extends from ´More Than Meets the Eye´ all the way through ´The Return of Optimus Prime´. With the MSRP at only $29.99, transfans really can´t afford NOT to buy this game.

Hasbro´s Tidal Wave will not be painted in his television counterpart´s colors. However, Takara´s SHOCKWAVE (Tidal Wave´s Japanese name) may have the (arguably better) television show colors. Takara has already altered several of the Armada figures to feature more show-accurate colors such as the Street Action Team and both Optimus Prime figures. Don´t be surprised if Shockwave features the familiar Purple/Black/White scheme.

UPDATE! The game is not a fighting game, but rather a Dynasty Warriors type hack-n-slash. However, the storyline, hidden characters, and other items are still true. The VS mode may be thrown in as an extra feature.
What can we expect from the new Transformers video game (listed for a June 3rd release)? Well, it´s a fighting game, so there´ll be the ´single player mode´ where you´ll play as the Autobot heroes through the events of Seasons 1-3 and the movie.
Then there´ll be the VS mode where you and a friend can fight it out. Autobot VS Decepticon or have some brutal in-fighting in the ranks. You decide.
Also, there´ll be several hidden characters that you´ll unlock as you progress through the game. Mostly Season 2/3/movie bots and cons. The graphics will impress fans, though.

You´ve read the ´hard evidence´ on the main page but you want some more readin´? Very well.
It´s interesting that Unicron will play such a significant role in the coming episodes of Armada. His US cartoon appearences were extremely limited.
The only time we got to see Unicron as a character was in TFTM. Although his ´origin´ was givin in ´Call of the Primitives´ and he was almost revived in ´Ghost in the Machine´. He also appeared in ´Possession´ in Beast Wars in a flashback scene and his image was used in ´Other Voices´.
The character´s fanbase is surprisingly large considering his total amount of video screen-time is less than 30 minutes!
This will be the first chance for cartoon fans to see what The Chaos Bringer is capable of. Although you comic fans probably already know.
The Autobot engaging Unicron in combat is Optimus Prime.
New Episodes of Armada start on March 1st. Unicron is coming If you just can´t wait, hop on over to the comics section and get a preview at what a bad-bot Unicron truly is.
Thanks for reading,
-Smooth

It has been rumored that Takara plans to release their BW:Neo Unicron as a very limited exclusive figure. Limited to only 1,500 pieces. It´s said to have a December 2003 target release date. The price should be about $80 in Japan. So after you figure in shipping, and the other price hikes, you´d expect to be paying around double that.

As you´ve noticed, all the new Takara ´bookcase´ reissue include several notebook style pages with some pre-punched holes. Apparently, if you so choose, you´ll be able to store these together in a binder that´s included with the #0 Optimus Prime reissue.
That´s, of course, assuming you want to mangle that beautiful packaging.
