LoopyDetails.com has a very disturbing and scary article, the topic - your genuine Transformers Encore Metroplex might be a KO!
What The Heck? The Encore 12 Metroplex I Got From TFSource Is A Fake!
A couple of weeks ago I did a review of Transformers 12 Encore Metroplex. In my review, I noted that the plastic material used is very substandard and the toy seemed cheaply made. Initially I just thought that Takara screwed up in the build quality. Since I got this figure from a well respected online retailer (TFSource - on sale for $60); it didn't occur to me that my Metroplex could be a knock-off/counterfeit/fake.

It's no secret that
HASBRO, Inc. (HAS NYSE) has benefited greatly from the production and release of the Transformers live action movie and will continue to benefit from the upcoming releases of the sequel,
Revenge of the Fallen and
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. What many people may not know is the role that Chief Executive Officer Mr. Brian Goldner played in making the number 2 toymaker an entertainment powerhouse.
It was Mr. Goldner who enlisted the help of movie producer
"Lorenzo di Bonaventura in 2003 after reading in a trade publication that di Bonaventura was considering a film project about military technology."
"From one conversation to the next, we hit it off," di Bonaventura said. "In normal times, it could take months of conversation to move forward. Brian and I did it in two or three times. He has that gut instinct and a dynamic vision for what 'Transformers' could be and the willingness to jump into it. His contribution was invaluable."
The huge success and amazing rise in company stock that the productions brought on alone is reason enough to praise the amazing efforts of HASBRO's top man, but the list goes on.
Even before adjusting to his new position, Mr. Goldner set the company sights
way beyond a conventional toy maker.
"What does that look like as an online game?" stated Mr. Goldner. "Can that be a cell phone game? Should that be a TV show? Can that be a movie? That's the way we're thinking about our brands today and our strategy for the company."
It was this same innovative thinking that brought the value of HASBRO stock to amazing heights,
reaching nearly double in value during the last fiscal year and that landed him the
Wall Street Journal's "Market Watch" CEO of the Year Award.
Seibertron.com would like to congratulate you, Mr. Goldner, on your award and many achievements that you've completed even before taking the helm of our favorite toy company. Here's to making HASBRO the number 1 toy company.

We recently reported
here that
HASBRO, Inc. (HAS NYSE) was holding a special webcast via its
Corporate Information Webpage regarding a meeting between HASBRO officials and stock securities analysts. Today the webcast was held and we got to hear what HASBRO expects for 2009.
In the webcast HASBRO backed its projection of increase over 2008's earnings in 2009, despite recent economic troubles that have hit the market overall. HASBRO Executives admitted that predicting how the financial woes of the market would affect them is difficult, but maintain that key brands the company holds, such as TRANSFORMERS, STAR WARS and GI JOE, we'll help them maintain an edge in the market.
"We've never seen a situation quite like this," CEO Brian Goldner said. However, he added: "We feel we can be very competitve in this marketplace."
HASBRO expects sales in China and surrounding markets to increase at a faster rate than the US and Europe next year. The company also plans on increasing dividends on shares or stepping up stock repurchases.
With major theatrical releases planned for two of the toy makers key franchises, increase in 2009 seems more than likely.
Share prices were $25.58, down $0.81 or 3.1% at the time of posting.
HASBRO will make the webcast available for replay soon. You can hear it through Windows Media Player or Real Player
here.

Today,
HASBRO, Inc. (HAS NYSE) has announced that it will be offering a webcast of an investment presentation it will be conducting for securities analysts on November 12th, 2008.
The webcast will have presentations done by HASBRO's President and Chief Executive Officer, Brian Goldner, the company’s Chief Financial & Operating Officer, David Hargreaves, Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance, Deborah Thomas Slater and Chief Marketing Officer, John Frascotti.
With this presentation, these analysts can determine if HASBRO's projected net worth will be accurate and how it may affect the price of stock shares.
