It looks like the Writer's Guild strike could end any day now. But while Michael Bay is not only ready to jump back into development on Transformers 2, it turns out he's already finished writing the story.
"I've been writing Transformers 2," said Bay. "We've got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway so at least I've got something to give the writers. It's like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that."
It might be a tad unorthodox, but Bay has high pressure demands. "We had to because I want to make my date. I'm not going to let the strike take me down."
Now that the major effects of transforming moving parts have been figured out, Bay has all sorts of new characters in store for the sequel. "When you do your first movie, you break the back of it. Now we can have a lot more fun. We can actually make the depth of these characters more fun and a lot more interesting characters. To see actually what you can achieve visually, you never know. When you go into a movie, you never know visually. I think I've got a lot of fun, interesting, funny characters."

A full template, great, it gets them to work letting the writers just flesh it out later. Absolutely no problem with that!
I respect him for keeping things on track.
However the headline initialy did make my heart sink a bit.
However I do have to say I look forward to what's in store for us, it seems like he's going for a progressive story with this franchise and not just repeating more of the same ol' like most movies do.

Speaking as a professional writer - this could be bad. It makes me uncomfortable to regulate three veteran script writers to "ghost writer" status. My strongest fear is that the pacing of the storytelling could be off and may not lend itself to developing stronger characters or a compelling plot.
But speaking as a Transformers fan - I want things blown up. Michael Bay, I have faith you can deliver.

Wait has he finished writing the entire script or just the outline and concept designs? I pray to all that is holly that he didnt write the script himself. If he wrote it himself not only will he never stop bragging but it will most likely suck. A lot.Sure the explosions will be awesome as will the battle scenes but the dialog and story (if any) will be horrid.

Man I'd hate to have to read a Bay written script.
It'd be like reading a 2nd graders report on the New Years Eve fireworks.
Not to mention that he has probably changed all the "lame names" like Ratchet and Bumblebee to "cool names" like Hacksaw and Destroyer.
The poor writers will probably have to spend more time making his script usable than they would have spent writing their own from scratch.
