SPOILER ALERT!!!!
In a very blase response, Michael Bay explains why he decided to kill off female Autobot Arcee.
"You know what? I didn't like Arcee," the filmmaker revealed exclusively to [MTV] Thursday night, "so I kill her later, all right?"
Not stopping there, he went on to describe his reasoning behind the death of the short lived character.
"You know what? It's like actors," he explained, comparing his Transformers to flesh-and-blood stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. "There are certain actors that blossom on screen, and there are certain others where you're like, 'Yuck, I'm cutting them out of the movie.' "
"This isn't sad," he grinned, discussing Arcee's sudden death. "This is just 'get it out and get it over with.' "
Bay also disclosed that Arcee IS NOT the motorcycle ridden by leading actress Megan Fox.

That might explain why her toy hasn't been shown yet or with much fanfare, also kills the "she's a combiner!" rumor.
Ah well, I hope she goes out all awesome like.

On one hand, it really depends on how he does it. It's like Blastback said; it needs to be better than how Jazz is done.
On the other hand...if I'm gonna get pissed off over this news, it's not gonna be over the fact that he's doing it itself. It's why he's doing it. It's like fraking with G1 just because you didn't like one thing or another. It just doesn't seem right to me that he's willing to kill off a character just because he doesn't like her.

Shame really, motorcycle TFs add some great variety to the movie cast, why would you want to get rid of them - especially after some poor bike builder worked his ass off to make these bikes. We still don't know if "Arcee" is the pink bike, or all bikes combined.

He kills the only girl (assuming that arcee is the combined form of the bikes)
And he kills the only black guy as well.

Jazz was not "black".
He was voiced by a black guy, that however does NOT make a fictional character in the movie, black.
And for all we know Bay's dislike of Arcee may be based on a number of things, not just the fact she is a "she".
Think things through before posting people. He has his reasons and he doesn't need to explain them to you.

My sentiments exactly. I'm willing to wager that this statement's another whole load of misinformation, and that 'heroic' thing the fuglybros do at the end involves getting stepped on by Devastator or blown up by Fallen/Megatron.

so arcee is gonna be the important death that brings a sence of real drama in this one..... sure ,sure
not say? a certain semi-truck?
(and their gonna bring him back in the next one )

Energon Ironhide
Animated Ironhide (both of which have awful voices)
Movie Ironhide just came across as silly.
So Arcee is less likeable than that pipecleaner bot, Frenzy?
Movie Wheelie is going to be likeable?
The Unicycle Constructicon is cool?
Jetfire's 'beard' and cane are cool?
Bay is turning into TF's answer to Joel Schumacher. And to use an old joke, Schumacher is German for Cobblers!
We so need Christopher Nolan to reboot the series or someone faithful to the source material like Peter Jackson.

Christopher Nolan, maybe. But he'd likely try to turn Optimus Prime into the bad guy in the eyes of the characters like he did to Batman in Dark Knight, and that was just flat out stupid.
But Peter Jackson? Yeah, he nailed "Rings", but he totally butchered King Kong. He'd most likely F it up much worse than Bay could.

Butchered, why? I thought it was a pretty good movie, and as I've read, it follows the '33 movie very well.

LIke when the motorcycles were at the Chinese-themed set but didnt appear anywhere else in the movie.
This has been speculated for awhile.

Exactly.
Why even reveal this? This guy has such an ego it's ridiculous. It's like he's flaunting the fact that he can screw with this property however he wants, and he knows that it irritates people, and he loves it. That's the only reasoning I can come up with for so much of his idiocy.

That doesn't make any sense. Epps survived the movie. Or wait, did you mean black bot? But then, that doesn't make any sense, either. Ironhide also survived. Though Blackout died, but he was just a dark gray. I guess Barricade died, but then that's debatable since he was never shown being killed.
As for Arcee, if she dies (And I'm taking a grain of salt from the shaker marked "News from Bay") I hope it's less like Jazz, more like Dinobot, but then that's a bit too hopeful.

I really don't care if Arcee dies or not, as long as it isn't pointless. We need PLOT in this movie, Mr Bay, not irrelevant narrative strung between massive explosions. I'm all for explosions and giant f*cking robots doing battle in the streets, but I'm also all for substance.
For the people mentioning the TF1 Jazz death: Jazz wasn't "black." He was voiced by a black actor. Cybertronians do not have ethnicities of white/black/red/yellow/green. If anything, Jazz's race is Autobot. Or Cybertronian, if one considers that not all TFs are Cybertronians (Junkions, Paratronians). So, by that token, it is impossible for Bay to have killed off the "black" bot, literally (and literarily) speaking.
One could transfer this same principle to Cybertronian gender, and consider that there really is no such thing as male or female Cybertronians. Maybe their physical resemblance to human genders is purely coincidental.

You're doing exactly what he wants you to do. You really don't like Bay? Stop dissecting everything he says. He's like a contestant on Rock of Love--just pathetically desperate for your attention. Until he can get your attention via large-scale explosions, this will have to do. If you think he's a narcissistic egomaniac with delusions of grandeur, well, you helped make him.
Besides, because we have no trust in any word that comes out of Bay of the Forked Tongue's mouth, most of us are going to have to shell out the bread to see the movie anyway.
HK, as long as Starscream doesn't die, I'm cool.

Assuming of course that any of this is true.
I remember hearing that Sam Raimi doesn't like Venom. But he included Venom anyway (To an extent, at least) and even though Venom didn't appear until near the end of the movie, he still had a very important role. And then Venom died.
If Bay included Arcee despite not liking her, just to kill her off, perhaps her death is important?

How did they ruin him? He was exactly as he was in his early comic appearances. In fact, the only things I could think of is his tendency to not wear his mask, and that he only appeared with the symbiote briefly.

He referred to himself as I instead of we, almost to the point that they were rubbing it in our faces how badly they did his character. "you ruined MY life, stole MY girl, now I'M going to blah blah blah." He's a huge fan favorite and yet they just slapped him in at the last 10 minutes and still focused on Sandman. Then they killed him in the most absolute way they could just to make sure he couldn't come back. Like I said they should have just left him out rather than mess him up so badly. Or maybe end the movie at the chapel when he gets the symbiote. I did like the way he looked though, with the eratic web pattern, that was a nice touch. Sorry to rant, but I was looking forward to Venom since the first movie.

But I'm sorely temped to just say that this is another Bay lie. I'm betting he just wants to get all the Arcee fans angry and ticked off and in buzz.
I think he enjoys having people mad at him (whether justified or not).

A minor speech quirk that you'd have to have read the comics to catch.

Like Two-Face. And Ra's Al-Ghul. And Iron Monger. And Abomination.

They didn't think there was going to be a fourth film, and I don't think anyone was really counting on it. Regardless, this happened.
And like I said, that's how he was in the early comics.

Obviously Sam Raimi was not. I was hoping more for Bruce Campbell as Mysterio. (And you know that would totally work!)
