Oh YYYYYYEAH!!! This sounds pretty cool! Looks like we're finally going to get some legit fiction that's directly about the Tripredacus Council! The real Council as we saw in the cartoon! After all these years, their story will at last be told! Their history will at last revealed! Their secrets will at last be covered! Their--Beast Wars! Twenty years ago, the television series and toy line gave Transformers fans, not a new world of Autobots and Decepticons, but one of raging beasts that converted into Heroic Maximal and Evil Predacon warriors! Led by the namesakes of Optimus Prime and Megatron, these Transformers explored worlds of stories that no one had previously thought possible. And while Optimus Primal, Rhinox, Cheetor, Rattrap, Dinobot, Airazor, Tigatron on-board the crashed Axalon, and Megatron, Scorponok, Waspinator, Terrorsaur, Blackarachnia, and Rampage on the broken Darksyde captivated audiences on a weekly basis, other characters stirred the imagination as well. Characters with their own agendas...
As they sat aboard their own personal space station orbiting Cybertron, the Tripredacus Council seemed to defy Maximal Intelligence in every way. Shrouded in mystery and shadows cast by a single hanging lamp, this trinity of high-ranking Predacons plotted their own path to restoring greatness to the Predacon faction. While fans never saw them in combined form on the show, we know that the Predacons General Seaclamp, Cicadacon, and Ramhorn combined to form the fearsome and towering Tripredacus!
Of course, what good is a conspiracy without operatives to carry it out? And the Predacon Council had some of the best operatives for that task! Working as a covert specialist for the Tripredacus Council, Ravage was described as one of the few Generation 1 Decepticon warriors who was rebuilt and reprogrammed... as a Predacon. Given new stealth abilities and one of the Predacon’s most advanced ships, Ravage made his presence known shortly after his arrival on ancient Earth by capturing the renegade Predacon Megatron and dispersing his troops. Although the crafty Megatron soon turned the tides back on the famous feline with his own manipulation and offer, Ravage soon made his true loyalties known - “Decepticons Forever!”
But the former Decepticon wasn’t the only one who had previously sworn loyalty to the Council. Sly, secretive, and scheming, Predacon Secret Police Lieutenant Tarantulas had been a mole inside of Megatron’s crew from the very beginning! Turning into a disgusting, giant spider with the ‘occasional’ mad scientist tendencies and personality gave fans a character the likes they had never seen before in the Transformers mythos.
As BotCon 2016 celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the Beast Wars TV series and toy line, fans can relive these great characters through new toys and a new story! With FIVE new head sculpts spread across the box set and utilizing the awesome Combiner Wars molds from the Transformers Generations toy line, Voyager Class SEACLAMP, Deluxe Class RAMHORN, Deluxe Class CICADACON, Deluxe Class RAVAGE, and Deluxe Class TARANTULAS are ready to join fans’ Beast Wars shelves individually OR joined together as the unstoppable Predacon Battle Master PREDACUS!

I don't understand why this would have been a "be careful what we wish for" moment. I still would have preferred Uprising, myself.

For me personally, I wanted a story about the Council that we saw in the cartoon itself, rather than some new version in another world that has nothing to do with the specific Council that I've always been curious and interested in.G.B. Fair enough, I guess. For myself, I don't want more information on that Council. I consider them best left in the shadows. A mystery. The Beast Wars saga is excellent. But I consider it closed. I don't want any more.
So, paying homage to that saga though something based on it, but not it (such as Uprising) is exactly what I want to see more of.

I guess I've just always been fascinated about the Beast Wars cartoon's past. The time that took place before the cartoon's present always intrigued me with the little hints we got of it from the show. What Cybertronian life was like before the Axalon and Darksyde traveled back in time and such.G.B. The show always kept it just out of reach, and when the series ended with the characters going back to Cybertron to take part in a Cybertron-based sequel series, I was excited to think that we might finally get to see the world that these guys left behind at the start of the series up close and personal (Beast Wars was my first series, so I'd never seen G1 back then). But then when Beast Machines came along with its empty Cybertron having had its populace stripped of its life, I was a little miffed that we got robbed of the chance to see the same world that these characters had come from before the Beast Wars, as the dead world they found in this new series wasn't the same world they had come from.
I view the Tripredacus Council from the cartoon as a part of that wondrous world that I wish to know more of.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year!
We are still finalizing the registration system move to the new server. This has taken longer than expected due to issues with the old programmer. Their non-cooperation has caused us to have to rebuild the original version of the registration software from back-ups.
We do not want to impact your Christmas funds as we are entirely too close at this point to start registration. The current plan is open registration in mid-January.
We hope this relieves any anxiety you may have concerning BotCon registration and helps with your funds planning.
Thanks for your support and have a great holiday season!

Alec Willows has unfortunately cancelled his BotCon 2016 appearance. Well, I should say that it is unfortunate for those attending the show. For Mr. Willows, his cancellation is due to his earning a part in a theatrical play which will still be running by the time BotCon rolls around. So congratulations to him!
In his place will be the other Beast Wars spider. Venus Terzo, the voice of the original Blackarachnia, will be in attendance during the weekend and ready to sign all of those brand-new Takara Tomy Legends Blackarachnia figures!
Head over to the guest page on BotCon.com for the updated guest list. http://www.botcon.com/BotCon2016/bc16guests.cfm

Here are a few of the hints dropped about BotCon 2016 toys.
- 9 of the figures uses Combiner Wars molds including the custom class figure
- The souvenir centerpiece figure does not use a CW mold
- One of the toys "Uses a not yet released in U.S. headsculpt
- Souvenir figures will be sold individually outside the troop builder set
Pete also answered a few TFCC questions. When asked if there is still plans for more human characters from G.I. Joe figures, Pete answered that they plan to make "Only Human" Rodimus and Arcee. These figures be carded. More to be revealed at a later date. The next issue of the Club Magazine features the packaging reveal of the 2016 Club exclusive Skywarp. The issue will also feature the 2016 membership incentive figure Ramjet and will have Transformers Subscription Service 5.0 reveals.
What do you think about the BotCon figure hints? Do they give you an idea of what the souvenir figures will be? Discuss your ideas in the Energon Pub.

I've had great success waiting 1-1.5 years, and then acquiring the figures either (1) on sale at the Club Store or (2) on eBay. Giving in and buying them immediately has never ever paid off for me.

That leaves 3 more CW molds. Maybe Shattered Glass Checkpoint (CW Offroad with a new head), X-Brawn (CW Rook with a new head), and Autotrooper (Also CW Offroad with a new head, as well as potential troop builder figure)?
All 3 were kind of teased during the sequence where SG Unicron fixes and reformats SG Optimus Prime, Prowl, Inferno, Ratchet, and Brawn in one of the Club's comics.
In fact, maybe Battle Core Optimus will get repurposed as an upgraded SG Nova Prime in the Club's fiction, in which you could make a new "Shattered Glass Ultra Prime" using him, SG X-Brawn, SG Checkpoint, and Two SG Autotroopers. It works especially great if you prefer to use CW Ironhide, Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Mirage with the regular Red CW Optimus.

And there's a third party Only Human pack of figures out soon but I can't recall if Joe sized or not.

as for unused in the us headsculpts on cw figures I reckon those'll be the Seeker head for Skydive and Conehead for Airraid
i'm kinda wondering what the non-cw "centerpiece" will be myself. i'd be amazed if its another effortplosion like Oilmaster and Scorponok, especially since those are usually used for the boxset and not the Souvies
would love to hear more about the souvenir figures, maybe even see them before the Convention. such reveals would be a good way for Funpub to stay relevant, by keeping themselves as front page news, and as such manufacture more hype for the convention, maybe even bring in more customers.

Hello Members!
Some exciting updates regarding BotCon 2016 Registration!
First, a reminder about some package details. If you register as a Primus package holder, you will receive not just the 5 figure boxed set, but also a FREE additional Deluxe figure. We are excited to announce that this figure utilizes the Combiner Wars tooling and also features a NEW head sculpt that does not appear on any other souvenirs.
Also, the CLASS KIT (and Assembled Class Kit) features an alternative head sculpt that is not available at retail. You can add an Assembled Class Kit when you register.
Finally, per the BotCon brochure, this year's Golden Ticket features a surprise bonus! That item is in fact an alternate version of one of the Legends Class souvenir items.
Take one last look at the Convention Brochure so you know exactly what you are planning to purchase and we will see you very soon in Louisville, Ky for BotCon 2016,10th April 7-April 10!
Thanks for your support and see you in Louisville!

Take a look at that information for the Golden Ticket... Yup! They get a bonus figure this year! Considering that there is a limit of 100 GT, it's going to be a very limited figure.

There are nine CW molds total this year. five are in the box set, one is the attendee freebie, and one is the customization class figure, so that leaves just two molds for the souvenirs.
Unless the troop builder set is all the same mold that is a CW mold, there mightn't be enough toys to make a whole second combiner.

And I assume "Combiner War Mold" does not necessarily mean Deluxe or Voyager class. Leader can probably be ruled out, but it remains possible that any of the Legion-class Combiner Wars figures are fair game, right? At least the ones which were not, themselves, reused from the previous series.
So Bombshell, Powerglide/Viper, Blackjack/Rodimus, Groove/Wreck-Gar, and Shockwave, right? Shockwave seems too soon. Blackjack/Rodimus and Groove/Wreck-Gar seem too useless without a corresponding Voyager figure (On the other hand, Wreck-gar doesn't have a corresponding Voyager figure, so who knows?). But Powerglide/Viper would make good weapons for the main Predacus figure (perhaps as Laserbeak and Buzzsaw?) and Bombshell might work well enough to be included.

Now normally, it would say, "an all-new head-sculpt", yet Pete felt the need to specify that it has not been used in the US. Of course, it could be clever wording, but that seems unlikely. If we take what has been said literally, we have two non-US heads left, Seeker and Conehead. Combined with the random red jet on Predacus's artwork, this can only mean one thing:
THE ALMIGHTY RED WING RETURNS!!
