"I am not really sure what's happening with the "Transformer" movie other than my talented friend Peter Cullen has been cast. Presently, I have not been offered any roles. They are doing a new series based on our old shows which neither Peter nor I were cast. I think Corey Burton is playing the new Megatron. He is a wonderful voice talent and a great guy, so it's nice to be replaced by folks you like at any rate."
Also notice that Welker mentions that Corey Burton will be playing the part of Megatron in a new Transformers series.
Keep in mind none of this has yet to be confirmed and it is only rumor at this time. The main reason being that Welker made these comments back on December 12, 2007 and on January 8, 2007 IESB reported that Welker was days away from signing on as Megatron.

But Corey Burton will be cool for the cartoon! He did the original Brawn, Shockwave, Spike, Count Dooku on Clone Wars, a bazillion Disney voices... The guy is a friggin' genius!

From Corey Burton's IMDB page:
"# Transformers: Five Faces of Darkness (1986) (V) (voice) .... Spike Witwicky
# The Transformers: The Movie (1986) (voice) .... Spike/Brawn/Shockwave
... aka Transformers: Matrix yo eien ni (Japan) "

I hope no stupid actor is cast and makes him sound like "The Bio-Booster armor guyver is coming to get you" like that horrid Manga Guyver redubb.. US renditions Video tapes are better for that classic anime then that stupid company Manga who Butchers and redubbs anime horribly..!!!!
I am so glad that the new company and anime of the guyver is out and in a much better quality..ahhhh relief!!
Any ways Transformers fans unite!! Get that message to the head of the movie studio, get Welker, and have some meaningful banter between Megatron and Star Scream, otherwise we are lokking at another independence day, and I won't buy into it at all..
Also is this allspark the Matrix?? or is that a seperate concept that isn't even in the movie?? i hope the Matrix is in the Movie, i love that power that Prime had.. it's so centric to his Character and gives him this understood history that Autobots and Decepticons have been around for eons with almost magic like technology..

what a crock of ...well you get the idea. Doesn't sound like the production even entertained the idea of having him. Other than telling us they did.

B: If I've got nothing else from watching this whole experience, it's that when things stay hush-hush....sh*t follows. Personally, I want Megatron to sound like Megatron....not like whatever "face" actor they end up getting. Frank's Megs truely was unique, & it sounded both ancient & metallic, which was perfect for Megs....& IMHO, especially this one. When I look at it, I hear a voice that nearly sounds like metal grinding, which is what the original Megs sounded like.
I think with all the backlash from the designs, Bay would have to be a fool to not use Welker.

I like the designs, I like the toys, but I think - deep down - this movie has been dead to me since they put flames on Prime.
Welker would have been nice, but I'm not in tears over the possibility that he's been cut from the film...

As for this incarnation, I think Welker's raspy Meg's may not be the right fit. Personally, I think David Kaye would provide a more menacing and evil voice that may fit this persona...yessssss.

Not at all. Welker's Megatron sounds like a sissy. The movie Megatron drips pure evil and menace. The voice actor chosen for him needs to reflect that.
Personally? I'd love to see Nimoy do it.

Kaye would be an excellent replacement, Weaving just doesn't have the same ring in his tone as Kaye does. And since we're randomly tossing names here how about one from the complete left side of this field: Vin Diesel. HA!! I can't believe I just put that, I'm going to be blasted to death now *runs and hides* curse you wild imagination!! *trips and falls down a cliff*

So far I have not liked most of what I've seen/heard and the only reason i'm even contemplating to go see this movie is for some nostalgia hearing prime again, but on the big screen, if Welker isn't gonna be there too, I probably won't see it (or at least I won't pay for a ticket)
I'm tired of seeing stuff that only makes me more saddened by this movie. First it started with Bay (nothing agaisnt him but all he's good for is car chases and action sequences with explosions), then the designs started to leak, then we saw starscream, were told he was gonna change but were actually lied to, saw megs, were told his head would at least change but again lied to, now this. Will we ever hear anything positive that a majority of fans will agree on?
(again I do not want g1 in 3d. I was a huge fan of beast wars and loved it since the first episode aired. Probably the best transformers show to date since g1. So please keep that in mind when and if you reply to my comment. However, the nostalgia factor here with cullen's voice, and for the most part a g1 based cast of fan favorites are the only things that got me excited for this movie. Everything else just seems too over the top and more alien insectoid robots than Transformers.)

That scares me as much as much as the design on a side note Cory Burton is a great guy I was trying to make a fan pic once and E-mailed Mr. Burton for participation and he was definitely down. and gave us some advice.

Welker and Cullen were really my only two reasons for seeing this movie in a CINEMA. Now I'm just gonnabuy a pirate, because I don't think Bay should be payed for destroying something so many people loved.

As for looking for a pirate movie, I hold judgement until the day I hear news on the movie. I hope everyone who goes, shares their detail (non spoilers) opinion here.
