MTV Movie Blogs sat down with the actor recently and caught Mr. Voight pushing for a cameo:
“I should be able to make a cameo,” Voight said. “That’s a good idea. Let’s talk to those guys about that.”
Mr. Voight then went on to tell MTV Movie Blogs that making Transformers was a lot of fun and that Director Michael Bay did a brilliant job. But as far as a return, it wouldn't come without benefit to the character Voight played:
“It all depends on the plot, of course,” he said, “and what the plot needs, you know. But the Secretary of Defense, we want to know what happens to him. Was there a new administration that came in? Maybe he ran for president. Maybe he became president.”
Jon Voight as President in the movie? Better yet, a Secretary of Defense running for office and winning? Well, anything's possible.

Maybe Bay can steer away from his political commentaries and stick to telling a good robot story.
In other words, Mr. Bay: No more ding-dongs, please.
In any case, Jon Voight's a great actor, and I think he deserves at least a cameo.
After all, he was one of the least annoying humans in the movie.
And yet, either way, I still like TF, and I'll probably like ROTF.

Seriously, though... Wish it were that easy, but I for one wouldn't mind Voight coming back if there's any chance that he can.

If he wants in, fine. Give him a bit part...maybe a flash on TV or, if he is running for Pres an election commercial. "I'm John Keller and I approved this bullsh*t".
BTW, I'm doing a write in for the Presidency. IRONHIDE FOR PRES IN '08! No one will mess with the US when the Prez is packing two BFG's, quotes Clint Eastwood, and offers to off the main human character's parents!

With the taskforce between Prime and Capt. Lennox, plus Keller as President? Awesome.
Awesome.
Dooo eet Bay, doo eet.

First-Aid wrote:What...one Razzie for WOrst Supporting Actor for the first TF movie isn't enough? He wants to win one for the sequel too!
He didn't win a Razzie for the role, he was nominated for one though. Rightfully so Eddie Murphy won it for one of his characters in Norbit.
Voight was nominated for Bratz, Transformers, September Dawn and the National Treasure sequel for the same award lol
Goes to show how awful Norbit must've been!
As for the news, I didn't mind his character, he was necessary for the realism angle. As for all of these actors/actresses dropping off from the sequel.. we shouldn't get too comfortable with "therefore more robots" theories... I'm sure Bay and the writers can dream up some new unnecessary humans
Cameo is a good idea, ties in with the first film nicely.
