Why couldn't y'all buy more copies and DLC of Devastation a few years back?

It and the other TF games have been pulled from all the digital store fronts anyway. Doesn't seem to matter what we buy when Activision is involved. Well at least I can still re-download Devy if the itch ever needs scratching.ScottyP wrote:It looks like a mobile game, this is not a compliment. Battlegrounds isn't looking good and the lack of actual gameplay doesn't help fill me with confidence either.

I actually did get 2 copies of Devastation, because Zi was unaware that my 1st one was a Euro region one, so I could play it on my PS4, but not get any DLC...heh...
Anyway, yeah, looks disappointing. For all of us that wanted a Devastation Sequel, they took it and made it look like Animal Crossing, hard pass for sure.

Should at least be grateful we are getting anything period, the graphics might not be AAA but honestly does Transformers "really" need to be that big budget? Gameplay over visuals any day.

Devastation was one of the last games I bought new from a store for the xbox 360.

Bugger.

Bugger.
I would play the heck out of that game, especially of you could skin the game to match what ever era you wanted from G1 to Cyberverse.
So far I'm not seeing a great deal of hope with this game but there's still a few months left to go before it launches. Could get better...

"Adventure" piques my interest and this could be a great fit on the Switch and a gateway into the Cyberberse. I dig Into the Breach and Mutant Year Zero as portable games. Considering the quality of those two games, their presumed similarity and Battlegrounds having a MSRP of $40 my expectations are set pretty high though.
A bit too early to form any real opinion, but they have my attention.

We had better graphics in all the Transformers console games of the past 10 years. Also, as far as trailers go, this is the most boring way to make one. I don't see how they thought this could make anyone interested in the game.
Last 10 years? Heck, I'd add the 2003/2004 PS2 Transformers G1 and Transformers Armada games to the list of games that look better than this game.

That's both asinine and overly dismissive. Transformers isn't some indie franchise barely getting by. One that should count its blessings anyone other than the die hard fanbase are even aware of its existence.
It is a global brand that brings in the big bucks.
The issue is entirely down to the platform they are touting this release on. If they honestly said it was a mobile game, it wouldn't have created more than the occasional groan. For release on a modern games console, it needs to look the part.

Transformers is a niche franchise period especially at this time, there have been great games yeah but not even the Cybertron games would be in most top 100 game lists.
The overall franchise itself is fine but video game development takes a lot of investment to create, which is most certainly something that is being limited with the franchise right now. More then a tv show (usually) and can be on par with a movie.
Not to mention it's a kid's toy franchise at core so obviously their going to be safe with the first game after awhile, test the waters to see if it's even worth investing into bigger projects.
It's a similar reason for going with the almost brand wide Evergreen approach where most things are branded into one cohesive vision that stays relatively safe.

Where is the need to 'play it safe'? Three years isn't that long ago. If they were to release a Dino Riders video game, for example. They would have to be very cautious, as it is a brand that has been dormant for a long time. Transformers has films that make millions and theme park attractions. A 36 year old franchise that has become an established part of pop culture since the Beast Wars revival.

Oh my god I actually need this game now, the Firaxis Xcom games are my favorite Game series and this actually looks like it might be fun.
I didn't care about the first reveal at all, wow what a turn around for me.

That game was really fun, I would of loved it if we had a port of that version with more features/characters.

According to this review, while the game is nothing groundbreaking, it may be a little more sophisticated than initial reactions have suggested.

It's an adaptation of a TV serie into video game,it's unique unless they are very lazy.

SPOILERS!
1-2:B shots on his right and goes to the closest front cover before a cyclone2.By pushing him twice:He can reach the objective at turn 3.
1-4:Spread the team like they are ,B will need his car.
G goes to the left and shot twice before to go for the one behind.W shots the truck next to an enemy,B moves and use his car to reach the other.Direct them in front of the bakery.
Buy the precise shot.
2-2:PS the first enemy, smoke only the second.
A uses her car and spins into the group,B shots the enemy behind an explosive.
2-3:Push the team and removes several enemies,
Begin with a push and a Eflame2,G on the boss,Wind at middle,Wheel between the rocks.
Buy the double helix shot.
3-1:Probably the worst level with 3-4,i'm surprised the shield1 doesn't protect from anchor.
3-2:G prepares his personnal ambush2,A shots the truck on the right, then,G explodes it and you add a car.
G camps in the middle, grab the boss and axe the next enemy,A shots the explosive and goes to the right.
3-5:Replace G with B and his explosion.A takes her spread shot.Spare the first ennemy.
Direct everyone on the left(B next to W,A behind).Let the reinforcements group themselves.
3-3:B takes his shots that can project:"the projection",and removes the very first ennemy.E3 from W,P3 on right,G shot the rectangle,Eflame1+Bite3 on the big duo.Paralyse the last ennemies.
So,the secret of this bad weapon is to detonate the explosives easily like the shield1.
Direct everyone the farest as a triangle, add a power buff and destroy the boss with a Eflame2+bite.
3-6:O goes for the one behind,Wind shot on left and goes behind him,grenade2 on Nova and he goes next to O.Charged shot3+ED1,she shot and cover.Helix3 on the reinforcement.
O covers on right,Wind on left,Wheel shots the middle a second time and goes next to O.CS3 and grab on right,2 shots on the boss, finish with ED1.
4-1:First move on the right cover, that's enough. You go for the objectif that replenish your AP and you escape with the car.
Go to the farest as usual but alignate W with O.Do an IC3,then,a PS3 hopng for anchor,O grabs on the left instead of an axe2,shots the other from behind,he grabs and axes the reinforcement.
4-2:It's possible to remove 3 enemies with an helix3+Spin(Everyone behind the cover on left). One Emove on the reinforcement.
A moves far minus 1P.Remove the enemies with explosive cover, the grab will allow it at turn 2.Sacrifice 2 characters in the storm, what a joke.
4-3:Replace O with A,you'll need 3 grenades and the Estomp2 on the boss.Move to the farest minus 1AP.
Push the left enemy into the storm.
4-4:begin by directing everyone behind the energon container.O takes his explosion and Ejump.Wheel must ends his second turn next to the explosive energon,it will attracts all the reinforcement:Wcar+Bshot(explosion).
The arcade mode worth nothing.

Hide behind the middle of the rocks.Surround the boss with explosion and ED.
3-4:Replace A with G and his personal OW,as well as the one for O,W take his explosion.
Direct everyone behind the first cover,O left, his first ambush one P behind,W right,no shot,G behind and camp.2)buff G and remove the ennemy on right(Always comeback),3)Eflame1+OW1+E3,4)G removes the one on left.
O grabs and axe1 the first enemy before going to the green cover like previously. You'll be able to knock out the boss with an explosion.2)G goes to the right side, second P,O take his place next turn after EF2.The ennemies behave a bit randomly.
2-1:take the katana.A goes through the ambush and shots the car,W goes in front of the enemy.Use his car and shield1 the truck.
Don't waste energon gain.Wind receive a S1,shot a quadripede and Edive2 the boss.Katana3,then,A shots the explosive and goes to the right,Wheel S1 the truck,finish with a Edive1.
2-5:Shot,grab,don't move,axe2,move,axe2.
W can solo the boss with her Edive1 and katana3(No walls),it's better if the PS anchor Thrust.
4-5:Don't move O and G,the others move next to the cylinders.O will fights the boss with his shield by himself for long.
1-3 and 2-4 are nothing interesting.
Soundwave:push G and direct him behind the cover, diagonal bite+cyclone3.B shots an explosive and finish the boss if necessary.
More levels are more important than characters but they can do both.

One important thing i didn't said is that you can reset a second part by quitting and that reset the ennemy meter which is necessary in 2-1,2-3 and 3-5.
In quest of a bigger challenge,i came back to CODE NAME S.T.E.A.M,i reached 8050 in the emerald city(Speed team) and 4950 in the graveyard(Bomb team).I also studied the all gears speedrun:Lion become more or less the main character,he can create giant shortcut.
Also,i came back to FF REVENANT WINGS not for the bad story.4hours and half should be possible.
Truly the end until they add something new.

SHATTERED SPACEBRIDGE...I don't like it much. Some tips:you need the paralysis to do the bridge early. One achievement demand you to not use it,upgrade your stats longly, the heal grenade, the double helix and precise shot help a lot,the charged shot is not obligatory.
TRIANGLE STRATEGY...In 3 terms:The levels are very small and the ennemies are very endurant UNTIL you find something broken. It was like that in the FFtactics on DS that i have played. That's not good.
Posted by PerfectVision on April 30th, 2022 @ 7:45am CDT
-the player's actions take too long,i will take as a reference:ADVANCE WARS DAYS OF RUIN finished in less than one hour, this game takes around two but not because it's bigger.
-the arcade mode is nothing exciting same for the one of DUAL STRIKE where maps are long and decided very early by the commander choice, one may look impossible if you don' flood with Sensei. The one with decepticons is very small:4 maps of 3 turns,2 for the fourth.
-spawn kill fest...DOOM ETERNAL hardest difficulty speedrun are like that, the game may kill you only with pre-spawned ennemies. It has a bit of that as well, totally the two last levels.
-lack of ennemy variety, the most complicated ones are the bosses and should be the main focus, the Emoves are like a combo system on them, the last Shockwave requires three in one turn, immunity to some effect is something to consider, the paralysis is counterbalanced by inflicting no damage which works but still...Ejump+shield from Optimus against the final Megatron, that's good but he is not that damaging.
-no sound test?Doesn't justify a sequel.
The next game will be based on a show:EARTHSPARK and probably the movie,it's part of the merchandize more than the promotion.CYBERVERSE gave some precise fight abilities to Bumblebee,Windblade and Grimlock,a shield for Optimus, some good inspiration for a RTS.
