The Snakas blog is reporting on a listing found here, for a Transformers Ultimate Toy Guide 2017 - which appears to contain a multitude of toys showcased, from 1984 to 2017's The Last Knight figures, according to the translated information. Sporting a movieverse Optimus Prime on the cover, and with an extra image of the included magnet, check it out below!
◆ INTRODUCTION
◆ THE LAST KNIGHT
Takara Tomy’s latest toy line introducing the latest products.
◆ MOVIE HISTORY
Reevaluate the charm of the four films, with the theme of the movie series celebrating the 10th anniversary.
◆ TRANSFORMERS HISTORY
It was born in 1984 and now is the one of the most important toylines in the world, which has always been loved all over the world, until now. Let’s look at the charm and part of the long history of the franchise with the latest Toy series “Legends” and the highest brand “Masterpiece”.
● A4 Size
● All Color 56 Pages
● Special appendix insignia · magnet included
Starting September 16th, any shopper that buys more than 2000 Yen (about $18-$19 USD) worth of Last Knight toys in participating Japanese stores will get a DVD containing the stop-motion sequences and transformation videos TakaraTomy has created to promote the movie line.
Come the month after, and we're back to vacuum-metalized accessory giveaways. In October, another 2000+ Yen purchase will get you the Bronze Calibur Axe, a presumably bronze version of the axe included with the TakaraTomy Calibur Optimus Prime, which is based on the axe that Prime wielded in the Dark of the Moon film. In November, spend another 2000+ Yen and you get two weapons: Optimus' Gold Temenos Sword and Megatron's Gold Battle Axe. Apparently Megatron prefers more blunt (and somewhat inaccurate) names for his weapons.

If you spend about 3,000 yen at Toys R Us Japan (i think), you get a cardboard display diorama (a piece of folded card and a metal support, displaying computer graphic readouts out stuff like that). There's a circle/crosshairs in the middle of the "floor" used to position the toy to stand on.

Ok, I'll take some photos of the cardboard diorama later. I don't know for sure if it's for 3,000 yen, as my girlfriend got it for me. I'll ask her before uploading it. I'll probably pose a few TFs on it to show the scale, too and they too post a fairly "scan" line set of images so others can hopefully make their own version.

I don't usually like clear plastic figures but damn that looks pretty good and STILL more accurate than Hasbro's non-clear version in terms of flames.

We have a pair of updates for you today regarding some Takara Exclusive gold weapons.
The first update comes concerning the Bronze Caliber Axe, the gold colored version of the axe that comes with Caliber Optimus Prime that was revealed over here. The axe is now available, and here is how you get it: go to Takara Tomy Mall, spend at least 2000 yen, and a Caliber Axe is yours! This information, along with an image of the bronze axe, comes from Snakas Blog.
The second update, also from Snakas blog, reveals that starting November 11, a second promotion will be happening where you can spend 5000 yen at Takara Tomy Mall and a gold version of Megatron's battle axe and Optimus' Temenos sword can be yours! The pair were teased in the previous story that you can see above, but here are finally shown in full.
Check out these new gold weapons below, and let us know if you intend to try to get one or all 3 for yourself!

As we have seemingly be writing about forever, today was the release date for the home releases of Transformers: The Last Knight - the fifth live-action movie from Paramount and Michael Bay - in Japan, where it's know as the The Last Knight King (or King of Knights, though nothing to do with Saber). We covered a while ago the 7 Eleven exclusive accompanying figure with the Blu-Ray edition of the movie, too, a clear plastic Optimus Prime, which uses the Voyager Premier edition of the character.
Thanks to regular suspects on social media, aka Japanese toy bloggers tagoal, Alfes 2010, singgg4 and yokozana, we have some in-hand, in-package, and posed images of the toy, too! Take a look below at some pretty cool looking full body light piping, and let us know what you think of the toy in the Energon Pub Discussion Board!

He's meant to be the "Ghost of Michael's Past", forever haunting Mr Bay's dreams until he fixes his ways and starts making decent films.

My Japanese friend told me that her TF-loving sons wanted to get the toy, but not the "Amerika eiga (movie)". I think she was basically saying they didn't want to fork out more of their pocket-money on a crummy Bay film just to get a clear version of a toy they already have.
That, and I have already brought the world of wei Jiang to their attention...

We have some news from the Japanese side of Transformers: The Last Knight, which saw its home release only just over a week ago in the country, and Takara Tomy's TLK toyline - with a new Cybertron Satellite promotion, according to their official website. It comes down the following: every purchase of over 2000 Yen (approx 17 USD) from the line will give you the option of receiving a metallic file featuring Transformers The Last Knight art, namely Optimus Prime in his knightly pose and a selection of both Autobots and Decepticons featuring in the Paramount live-action movie.
We've mirrored the images of the promotion below, give them a look and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion boards!

I just checked, and I think it's British English too. For years, I've been using the computing term of "file in a folder", but, rather strangely, almost all definitions state "a file is a container, like a folder".
Oh well, I learnt something new today.

Just an FYI side note: They're actually called "clear files" in Japanese (クリアファイル -- kuriafuairu). Though this one technically isn't a clear file since it isn't clear it's metallic (メタリックファイル -- metarikkufuairu).

(I admit I had to cheat on the "fuairu" part because ァ doesn't convert into romaji right so I replaced it with an 'a'.)

Amazon.jp has listed several of the Takara version of the Turbo Changers on their site as word of Takara and Hasbro both discuss "uniting the brands" continues. If that is happening, this would be part of it. TakaraTomy is taking the Hasbro Knight Armor Changer molds and souping them up by adding more screen accurate paint jobs and better highlights for the Knight Armor pieces to make them stand out better. So far the set include Bumblebee, Grimlock, Megatron, and Optimus Prime. Click on the images below to pop over to Amazon.jp to see additional images and/or place an order for them.

Thanks to a listing on Amazon.jp, we now know both the price and expected release date for Takara Tomy's Turbo Changer TC-09 Battle Command Optimus Prime figure (revealed back in October 2017). The toy with a mouthful of a name is listed on Amazon's site for ¥6,246 (approximately $60US), and the listing indicates that it will be released on April 21st, just under two months away.
As a bonus, it also seems that Turbo Changers TC-05 through TC-08 (that is: Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Megatron and Grimlock) will be receiving re-releases at the same time to coincide with the release date of TC-09.

From the looks of it, it's a minor redeco of LA-01 Battle Command Optimus Prime, with TLK Voyager Prime's sword and shield added in. On that note, that toy used the same electronics system with the magnets as Stomp & Chomp Grimlock, but given the TLK line did away with that...
O yeah, the One-Step Changers were released before in the main TLK line as "Speed Change" so-and-so, expect some changes from the US toys.
