Takara Tomy Transformers The Last Knight Golden Shield Exclusive

"Gold Vector Shield" is its name.

Courtesy of the official Toys'R'Us Japan channel on YouTube, we have a new commercial for the exclusive toyline that will be hitting the retailer alongside Transformers: The Last Knight (King, as it's known in the localised release) - some of whom are specific exclusives for the store, such as the two Voyager and Leader Megatrons. The clip uses stop motion animation and voice-over narration, and features the likes of Bumblebee, Sqweeks, Hound, Optimus Prime, Drift and more - leading into the TLK line, the One-Steps, and the Movie Masterpiece figures. As the US has Valvoline and Valvotron, Takara Tomy Transformers in Japan has also partnered up with a garage chain - Idemitsu - in order to bring a lottery for its users (Japan only)! The main prize, for 200 winners? TLK Calibur Optimus Prime! Followed by Transformers themed USB chargers and cards. Check it out below.

We have an update on the Takara Tomy Transformers: The Last Knight TLK-EX exclusive figure through 7eleven in Japan, the Dark Optimus edition of the Voyager figure, in the form of in-hand images of the figure, the box, and a comparison with Voyager Megatron, as mirrored on the Snakas blog (though the source is fellow collector Anh Quan Nguyen). Via toy blogger Alfes2010 on Twitter, we have a couple of in-hand images of the Takara Tomy Transformers: The Last Knight Gold Vector Shield exclusive accessory - which, as the name suggests, is a gold chromed shield for the Optimus Prime figure from the movie line. Check them out below!

Which probably doesn't make any difference to me cos things like this are near impossible to get and likely expensive anyways.

It's the shield that's being shown off. It's a campaign item that comes by itself.

Well, if it's held by a 5mm peg (I don't know that it is or not), any size class could hold it.

From toy blogger Alfes2010 and Taiwan-based fan Yu Ting An, we have some new in-hand images of Takara Tomy Transformers' The Last Knight (TLK-15) Calibur Optimus Prime - their pumped up leader class figure for the Autobot commander! Included in the images below, we get to see the accessories, robot and vehicle mode, and comparisons with Age of Extinction's (Lost Age, technically) AD-31 Armor Knight Optimus Prime. Check them all out!

That mod for the backpack shield is rather impressive. I do wish the flames where that darker red though... Looks like an amazing figure, and the best-of-the-best in every way. I really don't know how Hasbro hasn't gotten this one or the previous version out of Japan.

It's nice (particularly the paintjob) but I still hate those shoulder pads and how you can't put flames on them cos they form the top of the truck.

That's a good point. Flames on those shoulders would look badass... Maybe if they could rotate around? But then you'd expose the ball-socket.

The whole backpack comes of and forms a riot shield.

So basically, the horrid backpack can detatch? Well, partsforming is a solution, but it's not the best one.

I'm actually quite impressed it can still clip on the back in "standard" configuration. I like that the shield passes the accessory test at first glance.... really have to catch it at an angle/side to notice the kibble.

That's pretty damn cool. Not accurate at all but hey, it looks awesome. I'm loving that shield and the axe.

That can't be helped, really. It's a TakaraTomy-original idea like the Armor Knight retool, with no involvement from Hasbro whatsoever, so they have to wait until TakaraTomy is done with it before even attempting to release it.

Whatever the logistics reason, it's still stupid. Hasbro would rather rush out something already made in hopes of a quick buck than work out a deal with Takara in the huge amount of time they had between films.

Soooo.... anyone wanting to buy it but would be willing to part with the axe?

Courtesy of the Snakas blog, we have a rundown of upcoming figures from the Takara Tomy Transformers TLK (their version of the Hasbro The Last Knight line) with prices in Yen, running from yet unnamed TLK-20 Deluxe Figure character-M (but speculation on the blog is that this is Hot Rod) to TLK-31 Hyper Change Dragonstorm, with Nitro, Cogman and Leader Dragonstorm also rumoured, and MPM-4 Optimus Prime in the mix. In this issue, the focus is on Takara's take on Hot Rod, Infernocus, the Toys "R" Us exclusives Cybertron, Deluxe Megatron, and Skullitron, Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee, and Calibur Optimus Prime! The images of the issue has been mirrored below for one's viewing convenience.

I really hope I can get the Optimus two pack, the Leader Optimus, and Deluxe Bumblebee 3 pack soon and in good prices/availability. Hasbro's announcements tend to get inconsistent.

I rather like the idea of this mould decorated in the 2007 deco - as then the flames on the roof would add a bit of needed detail to the robot shoulders and add some visual interest and it would be a nice change from the default deco - also the orange weapons would match the orange paint accents on the hood then too.

They are indeed awesome. Bah.. my figures look like crap on a regular shelf now I seen how they could look in actual battle scenes lifted from the films.


I like Bumblebee's stance in this photo. Like he's about to fight or break out some awesome dance moves. Really cool figure but damn I wanna paint those grey bits to look metally nooowww! His hands and feet should have some yellow in places too but I got paint for that also.
