What? It would be cool for them to be under the regular Beast Wars universe

Question, why, tell me why can't we just do some more regular pre-beast wars? (that isn't from an alternate dimension of an alternate dimension)

What more is there? They already did a Pre-Beast Wars theme w/ the original BW characters. What more do you want?

More pre-beast wars, yeah they did main cast already, just have a new on composed of the odd-ball characters from beast wars and beast machines. Funpub dosen't need to outline another alternate universe; just do what they did with stunticon job and dawn of the futures past, be part of a pre-established continuity, just be another story in in the mythos; dawn of the future's past two: electric boogaloo.

Not sure if I agree with electric boogaloo... but I do agree that I'd rather see them enrich an existing mythos rather than stretch the brand thinly across multiple shallow continuities.
Also, does anyone know what toy that Blackarachnia is modeled after?

Trans-tech Blackarachnia is based on the original Transtech Blackarachnia

Transtech was originally planned as the follow-up to the Beast Machines franchise. It would have begun in summer 2001, but was instead replaced by Robots in Disguise while Hasbro geared up for Armada. I honestly don't know how funpub picked it up though

Though I would have preferred them to not have included the words "Beast Wars" verbatim in the title (since there were no "beast wars" in this continuity, making it more like "Beastless Wars"), but I guess they had to go with what folks would recognize so as to help people understand it better.
So I welcome this dark counterpart to the Beast Era that came about nearly a decade ago, as it gives us some brand new territory while paying tribute to what came before without having to be confined and restricted by the old material, and freeing it up to become its own identity.

Technically... this IS existing mythos, guys. It's at least four to five years old come this year. It's just only now getting some attention (and a NAME) after all these years of going unexplored outside of a single bio description. And I for one have waited, and waited, and WAITED for them to go back to this continuity and give it some proper development and analysis, and now at long last, they are finally getting off their hides and getting down to business with this.megatronus wrote:SW's SilverHammer wrote:Manterax Prime wrote:SW's SilverHammer wrote:Question, why, tell me why can't we just do some more regular pre-beast wars? You know, The Twincast is right; it's starting to get really annoying that funpub is catering to the OCD tfwiki guys.

Guys, they're TOYS. there is bsolutely nothing stopping Torca, Jawbreker, Botanica, etc. From standing next to the Dawn of Futere's Past toys. Rttrap and Dinobot might be redundant, but maybe we can get a Packrat out of it? Pick and choose your mlds in that case. I like the Hoist/Longrack mold (speaking of...) for him, but others my appreciate the car more.

And judging from the reception in this thread, "negative" seems to be the general consensus here.

No they'e not. Or at least, not at the moment, we know that these won't be BotCon or TFSS toys, and any toys to be made for them are in limbo since it all depends on how much positive demand there is for these to be made into toys.Flashwave wrote:Guys, they're TOYS.

Either way, I emailed Pete directly and told him of my desires to buy any of these characters should they appear in toy form.

Looking back at this thread, I can't help but find it amusing how the first page is all praise and desire for all this new BW stuff, while the second page turned into condemnation and scorn immediately after we finally got a name.

I was actually looking for this very thread, for the sole reason of reminding myself who used what mold. Thanks, bud.

Thread revival time!
Just received this month's issue of the Club magazine, with the next part of the Rampage/Transmutate story line, "Alone Together". Some more characters were included (or, should we say, teased?). They are:
* Bigmos from the first movie Protoform Optimus Prime
* Beast Wars Neo Dead End (?) from Beast Hunters Dreadwing (wut)
* Beast Wars Ironhide from ???
* Cryotek from ???
* Beast Machines Buzz Saw (?) from ???
* ??? (a Beast Hunters Soundwave-colored looking dude) from Prime Rumble
And of course, as we've touched upon before, Botanica and Jawbreaker from Beast Hunters Soundwave and Ratchet, respectively. If anyone wants to chime in, please do so (mainly because I'm getting frustrated with trying to figure out who a couple of these guys were)

Thanks for reminding me that I still haven't gotten to read the newest magazine yet (I have it, but haven't found the time to open it yet).

IMO, this one feels a little boring compared to the last issue. Though it did have two pages dedicated to the Unicron Trilogy.
But trying to figure out each character is frustrating me... once you read yours, mind if you chip in and help name them?
