Yet More Rumoured Transformers Cyberverse Packaging Art: Grimlock, Optimus, Megatron

In the continued multilateral effort to spoil as much new content as possible, we have some more packaging art for the currently speculated Cyberverse toyline - we will know more after Hascon next week, probably - with the back of Grimlock's packaging being now accompanied by some Optimus Prime and Megatron artwork too.

Check out the images mirrored below from usual Weibo user tf-factory, and join the discussion in the Energon Pub.

That Grimlock mouth will definitely not open. Oh well.
I wonder what will be the size of these figures? Deluxes or scout? :-?

Still, look interesting enough.

The detail on them suggests they are veeeery small. Legion?
Not something I'll be looking out for. And with my luck, Dutch shops will be full of these instead of PotP.

I dont know that I agree with you on that. Look at Grimmy's fist holes. If we assume those are a standard size, those look more like 5mm than the 3 that Legin used. Could totally be wrong, mind you.

Based on the directions and similarity to the RiD warrior packaging and steps, I'm guessing somewhere around deluxe sized

Its the same as the RID warriors. A Legion packaging would be too small for the instructions to be printed in the back.

Anyways, about these toys it looks like Hasbro through their arms in the air and went "Fuck it! Fans want G1 again, here's G1 again, same tranformation, same design, same fucking everything now leave us the fuck alone!"

And about that grimlock not being a model kit, yeah I can totally concede to that now but the "no tools required" is still super odd to see.

That Grimlock figure.....the G1 figure is better.

I think that sums up how i feel about this.

The box art looks so much better then the other pictures of the designs so far but it's probably not going to be what the show looks like so no reason to be excited.

On one hand I'm disappointed that it looks like Grimlock will not come with a weapon but OMG this Cyberverse line looks awesome. I'm more excited for it then POTP.

Ooof, that doesn't look too great. It has that same sort of awkwardness and bad chunkiness that some of the early RiD Warrior Autobots had.

Like the RiD Warriors though, I hope this is only an indicator of how the line will start out and not how it will continue -- and we will instead get some awesome gems later on.

Is it just me or do these seem to be in the same vein as the Cyber Batallion Series. Large hollow things, with simple transformations and lower price tags.

Grimlock looks like he could be voyager sized, but quite hollow and simplified.

Only problem with that is that I have never ever seen a carded voyager toy. I am pretty sure this will basically be the same as the simpler RID figures like Twinferno, Stormshot and Optimus Prime instead this time it will be all G1 with no new or modern characters.

Looking forward to seeing that Megatron and Starscream though.

That's true, can;t recall ever seeing a Voyager on a card, but there's always a first time for everything no? 8-}

Megs looks like he could be a decent toy.

I don't think these are Cyberverse designs, guys.

While it's entirely possible that Cyberverse may take some inspiration from these designs, Emiliano Santalucia has confirmed himself to be the one responsible for creating these designs, and which we refers to as his "Transformers evergreen" designs.

Now, this isn't to say that "Evergreen" is the name of a series, but rather, it appears that Santalucia is using it in the sense of these designs simply representing the characters in a basic, broad strokes format, as though they're designs meant to be used for ancillary merchandise and such.

Sure, but then we get that Grimlock who is not ancillary merchandise. He is a full on deluxe in a new line. What line would that be?

How do you know for certain that it's a Deluxe?

The card back and the fist holes. Cant be anything else than that size (though it may be called a different class).

We already know the evergreen designs are used for 4.5 inch toys but only for Megatron, Optimus, Starscream and BB. So this grimlock cannot be in that smaller size.

Reasonable. Though, for all we know, the Grimlock toy itself might be for another generically-named "Transformers" line of simple dollar store toys, as its only a 7-step figure with bare minimum paint apps and seems rather limited in articulation.

A main line Deluxe, even the least impressive Warriors of the RID line, don't look quite as phoned in as that Grimlock does.

That is 100% possible. All I meant was that its a deluxe sized toy not POTP and inspired by the new G1 designs we see popping up, anything else is pure speculation. And in any case, all we will need to do then is change the title of this thread but the dicsusson will all remain based on this same new line.
