Another Transformers DOTM Linkin Park Hint

Posted by El Duque Apr 7, 2011 at 11:50am CDT 58,888 views
Most probably consider it to be a foregone conclusion that Linkin Park will be featured on the Transformers DOTM soundtrack, but it's still yet to be officially confirmed. It's been rumored that "Burning in the Skies" off their album "A Thousand Suns" has been selected for the film, and band members Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda have both dropped hints about their involvement in interviews. Paramount UK recently updated their Official Transformers DOTM facebook page with the following post:

Linkin Park fan, anyone?

Love 'em or hate 'em it's looking like they will be back for DOTM.

More Bots. More News. More Awesome.

What a terrible band. For the sake of continuity, however, I approve.

Well, I'm glad Linkin Park will apparently be making a return. I just hope they don't use that Burning In the Skies song. It's okay, but truth be told a lot of songs on that cd just don't do it for me. I love Linkin Park, but I don't think Thousand Suns was the best :-( I do hope they have a new song though, I need some new tunes :P

Ugh, as if my interests weren't difficult enough to defend, Linkin Park is featured on the soundtrack once again.

why didnt they do something like the Tron soundtrack with some futuristic electronic music? I think that coupled with the orchestral themes would make for a really exciting/moody atmosphere.

I dont think burning in the skies realy fits the movie, but Ten Thousand Fists by Disturbed does. Every time I hear it, i think transformers for some reason ;)

Don't quite know how I feel about this. I would have loved The Catalyst, would fit the movie perfectely IMO. Well, beggers can't be choosers, and I've been begging Linkin Park to go back to they're roots. I Miss the old LP.
Now it's all Wretches and Kings, and Waiting for the end #-o
let's just hope they turn around soon, I Dont want them to be the next NSINC or BACKSTREET BOYS, Just lasting a few years and vanishing.
(Even though I Personaly hated them)
Secrest Out!

Do I like Linkin Park? I don't like them, I LOVE them. Do I like Burning in the Skies? Sure. Do I think its an appropriate song for DOTM. No. Why? Not saying there's anything bad with it, I just don't think that it makes a good match with the movie, with the exception of the title. |:|

Reading this article and the blaze of comments about how awesome Linkin Park is, made me listen to the original 1986 soundtrack. It is far superior to any of this trite garbage. The Battle for Autobot City is a classic.

Yes, you are 100% correct. Hehe. That, and the Tron soundtrack would have been a good direction. Even Transformers Prime is better coz it seems to keep out the lame parts of the movies' soundtrack thats more 'chippy' and in Linkin Park's case, 'emo'. For Example, the background music when Wheeljack fights Makeshift is sweet.

Your constant nonsensical one-line thoughts when quoting comments that you strongly agree or disagree on.... is completely immature and is not tolerated. Think before you try to contribute to intelligent discussion.

For example. Instead of complaining about people calling Linkin Park 'trite garbage', why not respond with something like... "Linkin Park is a well-established band and their music connects to the mood of Transformers movies". Instead of going freak-mode about rap being better than Linkin Park for Transformers, respond with something like "I'm sorry but rap tends to relate to hookers, blow and mad cash flow. I don't think it belongs with the Transformers Universe and the themes of the movies".

Case closed. Do crap like this once more and you're getting warnings.
