First Look at Lego Transformers Soundwave Coming Out August 1st

We finally have images for Lego's next Transformers project, Soundwave. We can see both the robot mode and alt mode, which he transforms into, along with Laserbeak and Ravage who also transform. He even comes with a mini version of his alt mode self for display purposes. The set comes out August 1st and will retail for 179.99 USD. With a piece count of 1502, this makes him quite expensive.

I'm going to assume this will be like the other two sets, and go on sale multiple times. I might regret it but I'll wait for the price to come down.

I dont remember Optimus or bee being this much. And both were shelf warmers. Even after being clearanced. Im not holding out hope for Soundwave.

That price matches up with the Optimus Prime price, it was what i expected.

I'll also wait to see if this one goes on sale.

All TF Lego sets are still available long after they came out and they went on sale often. At that price and this availability, I'll not be FOMOing.

Yup, it does match OP's price, which I too found very steep. Oddly enough, I ended up getting OP for a great price in a Lego store in Bologna.

Even though I haven’t had Lego since I was a kid, this is, surprisingly, tempting me quite a lot. Soundwave looks awesome!

But to grumble: I wish all the Cassetticons came with him. I didn’t think they would, but that would’ve been great.

Just noticed the box says batteries are included. So maybe he will have some voice lines, like the advert.

At least by having Laserbeak, if he doesn't use any new/special parts, it may be possible to just order the specific bricks needed in Buzzsaw colors. I will probably do this once I have him.

Good eyes, the lower right corner of the front also says Sound Brick, so I definitely think he has either some voice clips and/or maybe the transformation sound.

Lego Soundwave is upon us. The page on the Lego site is live, offering lots of images and even videos where we can listen to the sounds it makes, thanks to a Soundwave coloured sound brick. The sounds including him saying "Soundwave" in that distinct robotic voice as well as the theme music to Transformers.

Looks pretty damn awesome. IMO the best TF Lego set so far.

At the Canadian Lego Shop, it will be CAN230$, 10$ cheaper than Optimus.

Had you not pointed out the electronic voice said "Soundwave", I thought I heard "sandwich".

One thing I didn't see in the video, the and legs pegging into place in player mode. Something tells me Soundwave might be a little floppy there.

It's worth noting that the Soundwave voice helmet actually has much FEWER sounds than this Lego kit's sound brick.

On paper, it's the fav of the Lego Transformers. But the more I look in greater detail, the more differentiated to the G1 toy.

Figured out what's really bothering me with this Lego Soundwave. The buttons arrangement on his hip are compact. First world problems, I know.
