We have now learned that Hasbro Studios, which is the studio that will produce Habsro-related content for this new network has announced a new president of its own. Here is an excerpt from Hasbro's official press release.
PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE:HAS - News) announced today that prominent international production and distribution television executive Stephen J. Davis has been named President of the Company’s newly-formed, Los Angeles-based Hasbro Studios. The “virtual” studio will produce shows based on Hasbro’s world class brands, deliver new branded content and produce programs from top third party content creators. Many of these shows will run on the new television network created by the joint venture between Hasbro and Discovery Communications (NASDAQ: DISCA - News, DISCB - News, DISCK - News), that is planned to debut Fall 2010, as well as on multiple channels in international markets.
Davis will begin work in September, leading a team of internal and external creative talent in a wide-range of genres, including animated, live-action and game show programming, as well as content designed for digital and mobile extensions.
New programming is planned based on brands such as ROMPER ROOM, TRIVIAL PURSUIT, SCRABBLE, CRANIUM, MY LITTLE PONY, G.I. JOE, GAME OF LIFE, TONKA and TRANSFORMERS, among many others.

how the hell do you make tv shows out of board games. Trival pursuit, cranium and the game of life, i do not see making good shows

My guess is that they will be gameshow type shows but honestly that's just a guess.

GSN already has a Trivial Pursuit gameshow...it's pretty good. I'd wager game shows on the board games too...especially if they are aimed at kids. Kid-based gameshows kinda fell by the wayside for a while but it seems like the new ones like CN's BrainRush (which is a great show BTW) are coming back.

Oh sweet raptor jesus, that show blows. So much time is wasted on, ahem, trivial crap like having random people ask questions BUT FIRST they have to say their name and were they're from.
6 bloody questions takes, what, a third of the show? Ridiculous.
Making TV shows based on their properties COULD work for some things. A new GI Joe cartoon? Sure. A new Transformers cartoon? Yeah. A new My Little Pony show, or Little Pet Shop? That could work.
I could see Battleship making a very cool naval adventure show. Make it like GI Joe, only with a greater emphasis on naval combat. And they could mix in stuff from the new board game, like a hostage rescue mission.
I imagine Candyland would be a cartoon about life in the world of Candyland. Something sorta like the Smurfs.
Clue? I imagine it'd be a really tacky '80s-esque cartoon. The 6 guests, after solving the mystery at Mr. Boddy's mansion, group together to form some kind of crime solving syndicate. Sounds terrible, but could actually work. Professor Plum's got the booksmarts [and could be like Egon from Ghostbusters or Q from the Bond films], Col. Mustard has military knowledge/contacts and could be the weapons guy, Mr. Green could be the leader, Ms. Scarlett as the sultry spy [perhaps she was a gymnast and/or actress, so she'd be good for infiltration/disguise work], Mrs. Peacock could be Mr. Green's wife and second-in-command, and Mrs. White could be like the team's Alfred.
Or maybe I'm just WAY overthinking this. I like Clue.

With all this talk of board games as TV shows, imagine a sitcom starring living chess pieces.

Something tells me that you'd like the movie. And personally, that's the only way I'd see that game would work... unless it was a game show, ala the PBS' Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?.

Yep, the Clue movie owns. The multiple endings are great.
Good point about the Carmen Sandiego. Though the cartoon was more fun than the game show...
Oh, also, pic moderately related:

I liked both of them, honestly, though I wasn't too enthusiastic about when the game show went to Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego. That show wasn't nearly as enjoyable as World.

I may be having a senior moment (or a glitch), but is this the same Margaret Loesch whose name I see as an producer in the end credits of G1?
Of course, if it is, she also brought us such cartoon wonders and the Monchichis.
HK, torn.

Could be cool if Clue was a gritty adult cartoon with over done gore and every episode shows the characters solving a possible version of the crime.
Just imagine it, Mrs Green kills him with a knife in the living room and we'd see a 5 minute scene of overdone violence while she slashes him over 30 times with the knife spraying ungodly amounts of blood al over the place and seems to get into some kind of ecstasy over it.
That would be so trashy yet entertaining and may become the best selling cartoon ever.

Sounds like either a mature animé or Clue: The Slasher.

Green seems more like the Private Eye than Bates... And even more like Cary Grant's character from North by Northwest!
