We have new stock images of the upcoming Transformers Studio Series deluxe figures. These images come from Weibo and are mostly of in-package images.

Below you will see SS-16 Ratchet, SS-17 Shadow Raider and SS-18 Bumblebee with Volkswagen alt mode. Ratchet has a new weapon while Shadow Raider has a new weapon and different headsculpt from the previous Lockdown mold.

There is also an extra image of this same Bumblebee figure showing its size. This is the main retail release of this figure but as we all know this same figure will also be available in different exclusive sets packaged with other figures. We also have what appears to be the back of the instructions for these figures which show these same figures again along with SS-22 Dropkick and SS-23 KSI Sentry.

I just found SS Megatron at Target, and I must say he's probably the best looking SS figure so far. Kinda like a smaller, sharper version of RoTF leader figure. He was on the shelf with SS Brawl and Cyberverse Megatron, but I passed on Brawl. Maybe I'll get him later.

@william-james88: it's spelled Volkswagen! I've noticed this typo a few times in your stories.

As excited as I am to see SS Bug Bee in package, bring on my helicopter hero Dropkick!

Oh man, Shadow Raider looks rad! That orange will look sweet in alt mode.

While not a review per se, we do have a video demonstrating the Transformers 2018 Bumblebee Movie Studio Series SS18 Deluxe Bumblebee figure which turns into a Volkswagen beetle. As the lengthy title says, this is the deluxe class Bumblebee figure we are getting for the movie and all non gimmick toys for any other movie character will also be part of Studio Series. The figure in the video is a factory test, as we can tell from the serial numbers written across the figure, but it is the final collours. We get to see all the accessories used and, of course, the transformation.

Unlike the other Studio Figures we got so far, this Bumblebee is not based on the final CG models, as is made apparent with his wings no longer being as prominant in recent screen shots.

Let us know your thoughts on it and if you will be getting this one or one of the many other releases of this mold.

It's a great looking TF figure. :)
I shall be buying at least one version of it.

Is it ridiculous that SS Beetle!Bumblebee looks better in vehicle mode that MASTERPIECE Bumblebee?
Also do we know if the rumors of Movie Masterpiece Beetle!Bee are true or not. I would throw money at that.

I not sure which one looks better but the Studio movie figure there does look great in vehicle mode (and I've never even been fond of the VW Beetle's design).

It’s got a lot of kibble, but overall it looks pretty good. I want to see more pictures of that Bee with the wings angled back, it should look better that way.

He's definitely no Masterpiece BumbleBee, but still a very good looking figure. I'm incredibly happy to see him back as a VW instead of a Chevy.

What's with the H3115 though.. is that a religious thing? If it is, I don't know which is worse.. that or the MAGA on Jazz.

It would be shocking if it doesn't happen. Hasbro and Takara Tomy have been pretty good at keeping MPs under wraps, nobody saw G1 Hound coming last month, so it's hard to predict when they might. As far as I know the KO of that got the rumor rolling hasn't been seen again either. My best guess is it'll be Hasbro's big reveal at NYCC in just under two months.

Why would it be religious at all? Just curious...

Also, a little reminder about the "SS" numbering: Hasbro's ID codes only have numbers, while TakaraTomy's have the "SS" in front. Thanks to Hasbro exclusives like Thundercracker that TakaraTomy chooses to pass over, the two do not match up. In this case, VW Bumblebee numbers are "18" for Hasbro, but "SS-16" for TakaraTomy.

I was curious about the H3115, so I googled it, and the majority of the initial results were about Yowkebed - Strong's Hebrew Lexicon - Bible. Thankfully Carnivius_Prime clarified why it was there (I should have actually read the article before watching the video lol)

I do appreciate Sabrblade's creative response though :D

The numbers are used for cataloging and tracking prototypes. I don't know exactly what the numbers mean, but I've heard they can tell where they came from if they turn up on eBay since they're supposed to be destroyed once they're no longer of use. I'm sure they also use it for quality control as it's easier to say H3115 is a good test mold or paint test when looking at a list than it is to try and describe the good one.

Maybe it's just my screen but I can't watch this video - the background's just too bright! I can't see any details and the figure looks like a bad "Anime ver." custom with white paint all over him. I'm really disappointed as I've been so excited to see a video of this guy.

Vol. 2 is starting to feel like a May Mayhem exclusive. Online only, but not exclusive to any single store. Even though Hasbro pushed it for Entertainment Earth, they only seem to have gotten the best price, not exclusive rights to it.

EE - $59.99
BBTS - $64.99
TFSource - $64.99
Chose Prime - $64.99
Ages 3 and Up - $64.95
Gamestop - $69.99

I'm sure Amazon and HTS will get it as well.

I think I read somewhere that it's because EE sells it to other places through the wholesaler side of its business.

That's what I thought, too, until it showed up Gamestop. The other stores are big and popular for what they but are still independently owned online stores so I could see them getting them from EE wholesale, but Gamestop is a pretty massive corporate entity that EE couldn't possibly service properly. They aren't the type of company that would venture outside of their usual suppliers for one figure that's exclusive to their competition.

This headline and story should be edited to note that the toy is not exclusive to GameStop. After shipping it’s like $80 there and $64 at TFSource with free shipping (shipped with your stack of loot).

It's not surprising that resellers would gouge that much out of them, I just hope people who want it will either keep checking hts or order in the takara version. As for the studio series exclusives, mainly volume 2, well someone above was kind enough to list all the retailers and prices so hopefully no one needs to resort to scalpers there either.

Yep, I was only going with official listings, but I believe Amazon will eventually have a proper listing and if they do that will definitely put a final nail in the theory that these are all coming from EE. Amazon won't get the Throne.

Exclusive rights for domestic US release, rather, but the agreement says nothing about forbidding other stores from importing stock from overseas. The same thing happened with CW Liokaiser.

Again, Gamestop, big corporate entity that only carries products from official sources, they aren't importing from Asia and definitely not carrying exclusive products from an online retailer that they directly compete with. If it weren't for Gamestop I would agree with you 100%, and had, but Gamestop throws a massive wrench in that theory.

Another somewhat recent thing is "shared" exclusives. Could be shared between EE and GameStop for whatever reason.

I have to say as a side note, my purchasing experience through GameStop was janky and frustrating at best. They need to work in some site revisions for decent user experience.

In store experiences much better.

From Uncle Tree Studios on Facebook we have out best look yet at the upcoming Transformers 2018 Bumblebee Movie Studio Series SS18 Deluxe Bumblebee figure which turns into a Volkswagen beetle.
This is the deluxe class Bumblebee figure we are getting for the movie and all non gimmick toys for any other movie character will also be part of Studio Series. The photos give us a good look at the accessories and deco we will be getting at mass retail and show us how small he is compared to the previous Bumblebee figure which was already quite small.

Unlike the other Studio Figures we got so far, this Bumblebee is not based on the final CG models, as is made apparent with his wings no longer being as prominent in recent screen shots. This figure should be hitting mass retail in the coming month or two as it is part of the next wave of Studio Series figures along with KSI Bot and Shadow Raider.

So, does the size bother you? Let us know your thoughts on it and if you will be getting this one or one of the many other releases of this mold.

They managed to make the original studio series Bumblebee look big, I'm impressed. It looks like a much better figure than the original studio series Bee though, I'm looking forward to it.

No altmode images?

Anyways, I know he's obviously a Bumblebee, but the different size and the tone of his design makes me want to repurpose this Bee as a different character. So while Camaro Bee is the same Autobot from the 5 movies, this Bee can be a Centurion that looks like Bumblebee when he loses his memory and thinks he is the Autobot we all know and love. Of course, the real canon will contradict my headcanon (not to mention no TF fiction is safe from confusing continuity problems), but I like to use my imagination.

I don't mind the small size, so long as the figure is still reasonably close to a deluxe, but what I do mind is the wings. I may still get this figure though.

So.. I have mixed feelings on this little guy. One the one hand, I love the new design and love the figure as well as the original Studio Series Bee, but the smaller size worries me... He looks like a tall Legends class figure at this point... Still gonna get him, but might wait for the two pack's price to be released before I make a decision. If I can get that one for a good price I'd be almost done with SS figures. Until they do Devastator that combines that is :KREMZEEK: Seriously, I'd love for them to try to make that combiner with individual modes, please Takara

Somewhere, some Hasbro/Takara toy designer is banging thier head against a wall, wondering why the movie crew changed the CGI model at the 11th hour on them like that. They know in thier heart they'll have to do a "correct" version in the not too distant future.

A waist swivel and ankle tilts AND streamlined weapons AND battle mask? You spoil us, HasTak. Some wrist swivels and he'd be perfect.

Finally some pictures of him where he's posed well! He looks really good - I dig the ankle tilts. Can't wait to get him!

I'm glad they made him smaller too, it helps keep the scale consistent.

Consistent to what? Its not like he ever has to fight ROTF Megatron.

For a moment there is thought he came with the hammer...still I do like him, the size isn't an issue for me, in fact with my limited display options it's a boon.

The toy looks fantastic and poses very well too. Looking forward to having this toy on my shelf.
Anbd size is fine as suits the car mode and makes him look a bit younger too. :)

Consistent with the character since people have been pointing out that he appears to be a smaller bot in this movie, particularly in the garage scene.

I have to wonder if the figure would have been more accurate if the movie hadn't been pushed back by half a year. Is this what the character model would have looked like if they hadn't been given more time to tweak it?

Quite possible, but aside from a slightly different version in the future (More bumblebees! Yay?) There's not a lot they can do now about it.

Yeah I don't even care. I've said before on here I actually like the doors. They're part of movie-Bee's general image (and fit his name since they're like bee wings anyways) and find the current movie model kinda 'bland' without them. The toy is fine and I will gladly give money to Hasbro for it.

That looks a LOT better than I originally thought. And FINALLY a picture of the back and it looks nice.
