This saturday, comic retailers across North America will participate in Free Comic Book Day, when stores will give away one (1) free comic to each customer. Included in the FCB specials is an Transformers Animated comic. From FCBD.com:

TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED—FCBD 2008 EDITION

This special 2008 Free Comic Book Day edition celebrates the new Transformers Animated series. In this, their first official comic book release, readers will be treated to a special 30-page story featuring the debut episode of the animated series on the printed page! See the introduction of young Optimus Prime, veteran Ratchet, and newcomers like Bulkhead, as they go up against Megatron, Starscream, and the Decepticon forces!

IIRC, the Transform and Rollout screencap digest was the IDW offering last free comic book day. Still, I might go pick up another copy of it this Saturday if none of the other free books seem interesting.

My shop is also doing a 75% off backissue sale, so reason to go enough already.

Guys, this is going to be the free comic book day edition. So did anyone get the same edition last free comic book day? I have the original edition I bought for $7 and I was wondering if there is any difference.

I'll pick up the FCB Day edition this Saturday, compare the two, and post if I notice any changes.

You asking if the FCBD comic is going to be the same as it was last year? Because they change them every year. Last year it was Movie Prequel #1, this year it's going to be the first comic release for Animated.

Edit: Assuming I'm able to go in for this tomorrow, I dunno if I'm actually going to get Animated as my free comic. There are figure in this toy line I'm interested in getting, but I'm not so interested that I'd pick this one up...
