Silverbolt and Prime are in stock right now as well. I want to order them but I refuse to pay more than suggested retail. Honestily I feel suggested retail is a bit much anymore.

What does the rile with the arrow circling away signify? is it supposed to be some form of transforming weaponry which never came to fruition?

I agree. But I'm not paying extra. The clearance junkies are the problem. ;)

I got the first wave of Deluxes yesterday, and they are pretty nice. The vehicle modes are pretty simple looking, but they're big and fairly chunky, which is a nice change from the smaller Deluxe toys we've been getting the last few years. They feel pretty solid, although the legs are pretty thin. They look nice, they look fairly stocky, but they still feel real thin and cheap. The hand pieces are going to look nice in gestalt mode, but the feet are unbelievably stupid and tiny.
Drag Strip is nice, but that HTS Drag Strip Mirage repaint is far and away a better stand alone Drag Strip.

I like them, but I got them at Target for $12 each. There is no chance in the world they are worth $17 from TRU.

I just like the darker purple of the Classics Dragstrip figure better. Plus he's more poseable. Either way, I'm excited about Combiner Wars. :D

Interesting pic. It's a shame because I quite like the look of this Megatron, it's just the size I'm not so sure about. I know people get put off by the tank treads on the back, but I actually liked that in his IDW comic design. Besides, as much as I do love the G1 Megs I always found it stupid that he was a gun. A tank makes a whole lot more sense to me. Even Galvatron's cannon made more sense than a poxy gun! I just don't want Megatron standing at equal height to Jetfire and dwarfing Classics Prime.

Also, I'm still holding out on Menasor until I see some pics of him without the god awful car-in-chest thing going on. I know Ultra Prime has been done with the chest cavity closed so I hope it looks okay for Menasor. I guess I can live with the head sculpt...for now.

I'm excited for this Megs. IT might stop me from paying way to much scratch for a Henkei version. I think I could be happy with this new one and my Classics Nerf Blaster.

The whole size discrepancy just reinforces the notion of the heroes going up against unbeatable odds. David beat the snot out of Goliath.

Exactly! Even the first live action movie knew that, for dramatic purposes, a larger/more powerful villain makes for a more earnest struggle for the heroes. Animated followed the trend, with the Decepticons by and large DWARFING the Autobots in size and firepower, so they had to be clever to take them down.

You do know the original Menasor has a car for a chest plate? It was meant to be a drone for Diaclone figures. Also Menasor looks the way it does because the classic design has always been 4 cars slapped to a torso rough like

Boo Megatron, Boo!

Hasbro, just do a large Voyager/Ultra for this character all ready!
Wheres Tsu with his tape measure when you need him?

I can only hope that once Hasbro have their initial projected sales for this figure covered that they will release a true 'Leader' Megatron around the large Voyager/Ultra scale, you know, about 21cm or 8 & 4/16th of an inch!!!!! :P

No, I didn't. Never had a G1 version of Menasor, not a G1 collector, and I'd never noticed the roller car in the chest from pics. To be fair, it makes more sense now and is kinda cool they've tried it but I just feel the Legends car size makes the chest look too wide and disproportioned to the waist. Still, it's either that or shell out for 3P prices. I'll do that for the odd character HasTak won't touch, but it's too pricey for combiners.

Just picked up all 4 wave 1 deluxes at Target, and all 4 wave 1 Legends at TRU. They're great! The limb bots are slightly limited articulation wise, and the Legends (minus Tailgate) suffer from a lack of head articulation (really the one piece of articulation I think every TF these days should have), but I find them all really fun to mess around with.

Syn_13 wrote:I just feel the Legends car size makes the chest look too wide and disproportioned to the waist.
its not that the car makes the chest look wide, it's that the chest IS wide when opened, and the car helps fill in that empty-ish space. I'm hoping to experiment with a legends Skywarp as far as the chest filler is concerned - the downward extension might help alleviate the appearance of the waist being set too high (like using Thinderdracker on Ultra Prime). We'll see.

Alright, so has anyone been hearing about the deluxe Prowl, Sunstreaker, Ironhide, and Mirage that's rumored? I'm sorry, I'm new here, so I missed out on a ton of stuff. I'm wondering if these will be combining limbs, since Leader Thundercracker and his legends incarnation don't seem to combine with the others. If the rumored deluxes are combiner limbs, what do you guys think? (Again I apologize if this has already been discussed) My personal thoughts, well, obviously Mirage would be a Drag Strip retool. People suspect Ironhide from the Offroad mold. Sunstreaker is probably from Breakdown. I don't know about Prowl though. I would like to see a large amount of the G1 Autobot cars to work as a substitute for those highly sought out Universe Classics figures. Maybe the new Prowl later be repainted as Smokescreen and Silverstreak? (I had figures from the first wave of Universe, then I didn't pay much attention and missed out on the rest of the waves) I'm not sure about a Ratchet remold from Ironhide. I think there are people that want a Sideswipe figure from the new Breakdown mold (but I hope to see a Combiner Wars Red Alert, 'cause c'mon, it would be a paranoid character as a retool of another paranoid character, and yes, I did miss out on the Generations Red Alert mold). I'm also hearing that people would like to see the Aerialbots retooled into Predators (like Skyquake) or Cyberjets.

Or from a new First Aid mold that's also rumored.

That would make sense, but word has it that Prowl might be made from Breakdown instead, leaving Sunstreaker up in the air.

Yes, you're right, the chest is already wide, and the car does help fill that gap. It's just a shame they had to make it that wide, especially when you compare it to Superion's proportions. I suppose that's all they could do if they wanted to continue the G1 gimmick of having the car placed in the chest. I did like the look of Thundercracker in Ultra Prime's chest, so that could be good filler. If they release a Legends Skywarp then the black and purple would look fantastic.

Picked up a handful of CW stuff just yesterday: the limbs at Target, the Legends at TRU. Just need voyager Silverbolt to make an appearance, and I'll have an honest to goodness official Combiner!!

The limbs are all great. Intuitive and similar (for the Aerialbots) yet fun transformations, and a surprising range of pose-ability for not having things like ankle tilts or wrist swivels. They're just so pleasant and toy-etic... besides for the combiner hands/feet, there are no real flaws with the individual bots IMHO.

Legends are nice, but we all kind of knew what to expect. Bombshell is good, but not as great as Shrapnel. Windcharger is surprisingly satisfying. Powerglide wins this wave, I think. I'm not going to jettison my Big red Ultra Class version (I like the idea of a big Powerglide, him being a plane and all), but the CW one definitely fills that mini-bot itch.

They really are. I think Air Raid from wave two is going to be the star, especially if the wings can sweep in and out. The repaint potential is nearly endless.
