That's a different altmode configuration from the one Hasbro showed in their livestream.

I guess that's the type of "vehicle" where anything goes.
Also, for such a "big" leader, he's not that much bigger than the original voyager.
Modern Transformers sure got hit hard with the shrink ray...

In its defense, RotF The Fallen was pretty tall for a voyager back in the day as well. He towered over other voyagers like Starscream. So it might be throwing off things here.

But yeah, if you watch the video, the alt modes when he transforms them are almost exactly the same size. I might still pick this up, just for the more accurate...well, everything, but "big" is kind of relative compared to the massive toys of the earlier movie lines. I have deluxes from RotF that are bigger than today's voyagers.

Is it maybe the angle that makes it look that much different?

Definitely not.
The thickness of the ships are way different in the front. I guess SS Fallen will be kinda like the 2001 RiD Megatron and can transform into 12 "modes".

Kind of interesting how the Fallen transforms into a almost flying saucer shape.
Wait...kind of reminds me of the ships in Independence Day.

I actually think they just have it mistransformed. The struts that connect to the arms in bot mode end up in completely different places on the render, like something is supposed to be pulled apart in the back of the vehicle and then connected to the legs/engines that they didn't do.

Isn't he bigger than Jetfire from 2014, the first leader in the Gen line we ever had?

The main thing I see is that the legs are bent more at the knee in the fan mode, bringing his heels together.

I honestly don't think it matters too much, mistransforming the alt mode that is. Not like he had one in the movie.

I pre-ordered all 3 SS Bayverse Leader & Deluxes revealed in the Fan Stream. I wasn't too keen on get another The Fallen before the reveal, but have since been a convert. The beefy bot mode is enough to warrant the purchase, but what REALLY piqued my interest is the alt mode... not the boxart/"official" version (which SUCKS) but the potential for other DIY alternate alt-modes. With the pincer-like "cockpit" nose and the many hands, legs & toe joints I imagine this figure is ripe to DIY a few bug-like modes. Play value FTW!

With those pincers out front I'm kinda reminded of the Batwing from the 1989 Batman movie.

The BEST Batwing. Another mode to try with The Fallen. I remember YouTuber TonTon got a few videos with the many DIY SS Constructicons & Weaponizers alt modes he came up with (far better than his pre-release toy reviews like PvP) back in the day and those were fun to watch.

That Rumble looks awesome!! I hope they remold it into Frenzy soon; then between Studio Series and Siege we'll all have our options for the FIRRIB debate!
The Fallen, though, I'm...ambivalent. The robot mode is fantastic, and having both the staff and a removable face is so good, but I'm having a lot of trouble deciding which alt-mode between this one and the original actually looks as a more convincing vehicle.
Not gonna lie, a small part of me was hoping he'd turn into one of the sarcophagus from the tie-in comics. I know, not the most interesting alt-mode, but it'd be a nice little nod.
...great, now you've made me want a new version of RiD Megatron/Galvatron

Holy Crossovers!....now I can vision the fallen redone with a Batman theme. Cape that attaches to secondary arm...all black...panelling to alter altmode

This comment kinda took me by surprise. Even as a devout Batman fan, I always assumed that this was the only one and any other we saw was just that same design interpreted for whatever medium and style it was presented in.

We have news that Transformers Studio Series 2022 Wave 3, or wave 17 as it is referenced by certain retailers, has been found at US retail. ApocalypseThruster found them at a Target in California. This wave has no repacks and of the 3 new toys, it is Bumblebee who ends up shortpacked. Here are the full contents:
2x Dark of the Moon Bumblebee
3x Revenge of the Fallen Sideways
3x Arcee
If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.
This sighting was originally posted here.
We also have reviews for Arcee and Sideways if you want to get to know more about those toys before picking them up.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Sideways is a bot of many hats. Herald of Unicron, glorified movie cameo, and Master Yogi to name a few. As far as I can tell this isn't a licensed car, which is ok as it allows for more wiggle room with the design and it shows. This is one of the few car transformers I didn't struggle with getting panels lined up and pegged into place. Robot mode is squat and lanky but once you have the legs bent properly they hold Sideways up well and it's pretty posable. If you've been looking for some of the more obscure characters from the live-action movies to get a figure, Sideways is a solid purchase.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:When Studio Series 86 Arcee was originally announced, many fans thought it would be a slight repaint of the current Earthrise mold that has been re-released in the Kingdom line. Well SS86 Arcee is a heavy retool of the older 30th-anniversary mold that results in the best G1 Arcee we've gotten to date, it's by no means perfect though. Transformation is a bit more involved than you would think, especially when you realize that having enough clearance in vehicle mode is a difference of millimeters. Car mode is the closest to the G1 animation I've seen, I'm very impressed with how the designers were able to pull it off. Unfortunately, there is still a sizable backpack to deal with in robot mode, but the joints are tight enough for now to handle it. There are plenty of better Arcee toys, but if you're looking for a pure G1 experience this is the best you can do.

I'm more interested in those prices, they were still $23 when I was at my local Target Friday.

But isn't what you're saying a version of "All black car looks like the Ford Model T"? I know my twist of your statement is kinda extreme, but... I mean, to me, I can't see much similarity of the Batwing in "Dark Knight Rises" (Bale) vs. "Batman v Superman) (Affleck) vs. the 1989 Burton/Keaton version other than they're all black.
Same thing about the Batmobiles through the ages. Some changes are more evolutional (cosmetic tunings), but some are drasticall different in style, it's revolutional.
Or maybe you mean since you consider there's only one Batman (created by Kane in the 1939), all the Batmen in various medium (comics, TV, movie, video games, etc.) & eras (1939 to today) is basically the same one Batman (OK, we're talking Bruce Wayne here, not the other wannabes/stand-ins for simplicity of argument). So likewise there's just one Batwing as a vehicle just drawn differently? Hmmmm... interesting thought.
