I use the auto CR. No problem for the CR that way.

Have been seeing issues placing my Cons into missions. When I click the button to enter the mission is goes to an error screen. Sometimes have to attempt to enter them 2 or 3 times to get them into a mission. Still not showing all players already in the mission

Noticed this morning that while trying to enter my Cons into missions the system kept loading missions my Cons weren't leveled for. I had to refresh 7-9 times to get missions at the level my Cons are. Not sure if this had been talked about or if it is something common.

That's normal as far as I can tell, if you have a wide range of levels in your active bots. I see you have 0-2 and then 10 - if there happens to be no mission available for bots at both ends of the scale, it'll generate a random mission with levels anywhere between the highest and lowest bot that can't join anything, so you'll sometimes end up with a bunch of mid-level missions you can't join. (Yes, it should really just pick one bot and generate a mission that bot can join, then repeat as needed.)

That makes sense. I'll have to start placing in my lvl 10 on his own before activating the lower lvls.

I get that with one of my level 8's. It will almost always (but not consistently) generate a level 9 mission for him to join. But it will then generate one he can join on a refresh.

I made use of it with careful pairings to try to get the RNG to generate specific uncommon missions for the mission details catalogue I did recently. Just by the nature of random numbers, I found I'd typically only get one or two unusable missions before I ran out of bots, but occasionally would get a whole string of them.

(My bots would like to enter some normal, profitable missions now, please and thank you, but that does remove my excuse for their performance! :lol: )

Example: Image vs Image

At a guess, given the number of other PHP errors going around at the moment (anybody else unable to load the main page for any forum?), it's some included file failing to load on the recolor script and throwing an error. Most likely a victim of crossfire rather than some failed change to the image script itself.

--EDIT--
Partial fix - the base image at least loads now rather than a broken link placeholder, but it doesn't do the recolouring part.

I see everyone else's alts in the colors I'd expect, but my team appears in their respective alts' default colors, at least to me. HOWEVER, when I tried to change them back, the first 2 cons I intended to edit had their settings where I'd left them for years.

Same for everyone? So, I guess there's no point in doing anything other than wait for the upgrades, as usual? Just thought I'd relay this in case it sheds some light on something.

Oh, and HMW Forum just gives me an error page, so I got here via Google.

Huh, that's... really weird. But no, looking at a couple of mission logs, I'm only seeing the default colours for everyone. Only thing I can think is that your browser might have the recoloured alts cached.

Curious now - Bumblevivisector, in my post just above yours, do you see one blue tank and one grey tank? 'Cos I see two grey ones.

Yep, me too. I can get to threads via last-updated links, but the forum itself throws the error with bbcode.php. (RPG forum is the same.)

Same here, both grey. My memory's not photographic, and maybe some chars were in their alt's default colors anyway; my Flash Turbine and Storm Front weren't that far off. Just checked Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and they're all green, so maybe everyone is just back to default colors.

Same. Went from not seeing any alt modes to all of them going to the default colors. And when you try to change the colors on the alt modes it won't let you see the all or what you are doing to them.

Yep, pretty sure it's one of two things:
  1. Some dependency has been broken in alt-mode-recolor.php, the script that creates the recoloured images. This was my working theory, but thinking about it some more it's a little strange that it's still returning the default image - I would expect a broken image or an error image (the grey Optimus semi, with a red X).
  2. As above, but also Ryan's put in a "temporary fix" for the broken images by redirecting to the default image. I'm now leaning towards this theory.
This is assuming the script still functionally matches the original version I wrote in like 2005 - that didn't output the default image in case of an error, but I know this is one of the game functions that's been amended a couple of ways over time. In either case, I think it's unlikely to be resolved by accident, so all we can really do is wait for it to be addressed unfortunately.

It really is one of those features where you don't realise how much you'll miss it until it's gone.

Is there any way we can get rid of the 20vs1 missions? There isn't enough low level bots online these days to make those worth it. I find, more often than not, my level 0-2 Cons facing off against a maxed out level 11 by themselves. always coming out with 0xp because of it.

Armor (this was pre-site redesign though I think). We can't equip armor, our bot/cons just get an error message.

Alt Mode recolors (only the base color for hte alt modes shows up instead of the recolors)

Leveling Up Screen (the page is exceedingly spread out and hard to read to see what you can select to level up

Timers and Bars (the status bars showing repairs, health, and winning percentages are either really thin at about a pixel tall or really thick. I don't have a screenshot of the size they used to be)

Those are the ones I can think of.
