I'm going to be the hieratic here
I own Siege Soundwave in the form of anniversary walvart Soundblaster, and he's pretty good, enjoy him alot. If I want him in with the recent of my newer figures I call him SoundWAVE even tho he's black. For my default Soundwave I have that Target exclusive Bumblebee movie Titans Return repaint, which again, I really enjoy and works as my Soundwave that turns into a radio figure

Would having the etflix cassette one be cool? For sure, no doubt, but what I have hits both spots nicely and there isn't going to be any lost sleep. If somebody is real bent outta shape about not owning him cough up the aftermarket prices for it and settle down so we don't have to slog thru such a long winded discussion YYEESSH

I have no doubt Hasbro will revisit Soundwave again regardless of how some may feel he's had enough attention, I also feel they will likely redo him for a more G1 looking version at some point. May not be next year or the year after but it's coming.

So those of us who want a newer version can just patiently wait for it and hope that it's not another Exclusive that proves very difficult or overly expensive to get.

I messed around with Ironhide some more, he really isn't impressing me. the robot mode is pretty plain, and I'm just not that into it. His transformation is real finnicky, and the area with the roof and arms is a pain to tab in, I was actually afraid to break him when I had to force it. And the can mode is pretty patchy in alt mode.

I don't enjoy him very much, I was hoping he'd be better so I'd be excited for Ratchet. But as is, He's just not that good. I still like the siege one far more. I think i'll be getting rid of this one unless my opinion changes in a day or 2.

Yeah, say what you will about the Earthrise and Siege versions, I was never afraid of those figures breaking while transforming them. SS86 really only has the robot mode going for it.

I like mine. I also think the Siege one is sturdier, but I really like how the SS86 one looks in both modes. Touchy transformation be damned, this version will be my G1 Ironhide going forward. I never did like the Siege one's open see-through chest, and the ER version is just a complete fail all around.

My general rule was only 1 G1 version of a character for my collection aside from troop builders. Then the Siege and ER seekers made an exception. Then WV and Origins Bee happened, and also became an exception, which lead to...

FINE!!! 1 earth and 1 cybertronian version per character and that is it!*

*Subject to later and related continuities loopholes, i.e. Legends Ginrai can stay but TR PMOP got sold off.

So for me Siege stays and SS86 boots ER to the ebay pile.

Early in my collecting days I bought 2 of each figure I wanted to keep one sealed…
That was a pretty long time ago.
I have sold 1 of each of my Classics and Henkei, while the second copies are all still sealed.
The only figures I’m buying 2 of now are the SS86 Dinobots (one set will stay sealed), and the Legacy Stunticons. But with them, I’m going to have the second set displayed in vehicle mode.

I’m planning to sell my ER Ironhide.
The SS86 version looks so good, and even if he’s as fragile as a few people claim, I rarely transform my figures anyway.

I’m starting to get anxious about Snarl…
Just hoping they have managed to give him a decent dino tail— both Slag and Sludge were jipped imo.
Especially Sludge.

Here is what Studio Series 86 Ironhide would have looked like if Hasbro had had the molded stripe on the sides of his van mode painted yellow: https://twitter.com/LazyEyebrow/status/1556614146518667265

I kinda like it.

I thought maybe the van was all red with no stripe in the toon so thats why Hasbro didn't painted it but...

Image

So I wonder why the line is molded, but unpainted?

Anyway, Reprolabels in due times.

I guess the complex transformation engineering ate up so much of the budget that there wasn't enough left for yellow paint.

I call bull because we already have a deluxe for the price of a voyager. I call that someone, somewhere, done goofed up. Maybe a reissue in the Buzzworthy line will have it fixed?

I think Sabrblade was being a bit cheeky with that comment.

But seriously, I also think it was an oversight in the design phase, as opposed to a manufacturing misstep. Regardless, Ironhide looks better with the stripe, but would Reprolabels give us just a set of 2 stripes? Would that even be worth the material?

Knowing Toyhax, they would not only make a set with the stripes, but also all those G1 toy details and the obvious stickers for the windows, making the use of clear plastics all over pointless. At the bare minimum, this would be a 10$ set.

IIRC, there is a rumor of G2 Grimlock coming later in whatever subline succeeds the Velocitron one in 2024.

Could be "Unity" or something else, all we know is it begins with the letters UNI.

We also don't know that that G2 Grim will be the blue one for certain, it could be the unreleased one with the tiger stripes for all we know.

Sabr said the line that succeeds Velocitron, not Legacy, that's what "UNI" is replacing (for now, we know how Hasbro is with their name changing whims). Also the G2 Grimlock rumor wasn't attached to any specific capsule, Walmart exclusive just seems like the most likely.

Personal color choices for G2 Dinobots: Grimlock in dark blue, Snarl in green, "Slug" in dark red, Sludge in red-orange, Swoop in lime green and blue. I know those colors for Snarl and Slug are considered the "rare" ones, but they're the only ones I knew as a kid so they're the ones that stuck with me. I had green Snarl as a kid teen, still have it, but one leg broke off at the hip. I should find a junker and fix it some day, pretty sure it was the black plastic that broke, not the green.

UNI is the 2024 Legacy subtitle, like how next year is Evolution, it technically isn't replacing anything. That's why the retail figures in that recent leak all said Legacy UNI, but Grim just said Legacy Capsule. We know from listings that G2 Grim is part of a capsule that contains 1 other Leader, 1 Voyager, 4 Deluxes, and 1 Deluxe repack, we just don't know the name/theme of the capsule or where it's exclusive to. It should be out before the 2024 stuff though, since the first listing for Grim was found alongside 2023 Legacy stuff, it just wasn't labeled as G2 Grim yet.

Poor phrasing on my part, I meant to say UNI is replacing Evolution, it definitely isn't replacing Velocitron like RotorstormNZ said.

Full disclosure, I also said "IIRC". I was going off memory when I wrote that, without double-checking the original listing. Though, the notion of it being part of a capsule line does feel right for it being part of the successor to the Velocitron line, since Velocitron is itself a capsule line. However, thinking more about it, it's entirely possible that it could be a capsule line belonging to some other retailer, like Amazon. We'll just have to wait and see at this point.
