If you wonder why I'm now into collecting Pullip dolls, it's thanks to this beauty below:

Image

That's Suiseiseki from Rosen Maiden. I saw her last July at Comiccon Montreal. A seller asked 300$CAN for her. I sighed but that doll was still on my mind. After beginning my collection, there was finally a sale at Pullip Style and I snatched their last one! Still expensive at nearly 160$CAN shipped, but WAY better than the Comiccon or Ebay.

Image

She's magnificent! True, her shoes have a tendency to fall off and her wig is a bit frizzy, but I deal with it because I already knew from the video reviews. Her style, charisma, and her desu-DESUness greatly make up for her tiny faults.

Image

Suiseiseki is a rascal so of course she made friend with Megatron!

I don't plan on getting any other Rosen Maiden girls. So she'll go well with the classic styles like Alice and Charlotte. I'm pretty glad to finally have "Patient Zero"!

Yeah I know.

Ok so I got a collector haul today but I wanted some advice on the situation. There was a mystery box deal for autographed NHL jerseys. I bought 2. They never came. The people got back to me with a tracking but the tracking information was showing it all over the place, with a destination in a different city than me. I asked for a refund since it looked like I would never get it and they told me to wait and give them my adress again, which I did. The tracking kept going all over the place after that, going in circles saying the adress was still wrong. I got tired of this and asked again for the refund since the item was lost. No answer, so I asked e-bay to step in.

In the meantime, I still had the tracking info, so I called UPS to see what was going on (which is what I thought the seller had done) and it turns out they had all sorts of wrong adresses. So I gave them the correct one and I got the items... the same day (a few hours after) e-bay issued me the refund.

So now I have both the items and my money back. I checked and sure enough, it was not the fault of UPS. The seller had written the wrong adress on the package. What is odd is they typed it wrong and my correct adress could just be copy pasted from paypal or e-bay.

From my understanding, the agreement for any transaction through e-bay and paypal is that the transaction is only covered for the adress provided. If the buyer asks the seller to ship to a different adress than the one listed or if the seller ships to a different adress than the one listed, then the transaction is no longer covered by paypal/e-bay.

The seller is of course asking to be paid again but it was their mistake to write the wrong adress, and to keep making mistakes while trying to locate my package.

So, do I owe them anything? Can I just keep the package and not feel guilty? It happened before with lost packages that eventually found their way to me way after I got my money back for them seemingly lost, but this feels a bit different.

And for those that wonder, what I did get today were two hockey jerseys, one signed by Bobby Baun and the other by Nick Kypreos.

All sorts of alarm bells are ringing for me, especially when you bring up the terms of the ebay protection. Sounds like a big scam of sorts.

A few questions I would want to know the answers to are: Does the ebay seller have a good rating? Was the address even close to your address (was it off by a number or just way off)? Does the address they wrote even exist? And more importantly, are you certain the items are authentic?

Oh, and I have a non-TF haul: SOC Dragonzord. Probably won't really get to play with it until this weekend.

The e-bay seller has a decent rating. Most people giving negative or neutral reviews are doing it because they do not believe the seller has provided them with an item of the value described (which they are right, some of these jerseys are worth very little).

The adress was off by a number, and with UPS going around in circles I would assume the address does not exist. Still, when they corrected it, they also changed my postal code, which became way off. It just got worse and worse until I called.

As for the items being authentic, well the jerseys are replicas, the only thing authentic are the autographs which come with a COA (made by the seller) but the seller is a sports memorabilia store which does organize signings (for themselves) so I think its ok. Still odd that some of the signed jerseys are by people who died over a year ago.

I am pretty sure I owe them nothing since they made a mistake, but I still dont know what to do. What I didnt like was that they said that if I wanted to keep my money I should send it back to them at my cost. That I found pretty pathetic and it gives me a lack of sympathy.

Personally I would pay them simply because everything seemed to happen all at once and they showed an honest intent (however incompetent) to deliver. Part of the blame goes to UPS, they should have been able to look up your name, find a closely matching address and then asked you if you were the proper recipient. I've had drivers come to my house many times looking for directions or asking if I knew a person that might live near by, they could have found you if they tried harder. A missing number shouldn't make you impossible to find.

They could have also used the postal code, which I thought was the key. Of course, when the seller messed with that it all went to hell to the point of not even being in the same city anymore.

Anyways, I just realized that they have no way of knowing if I truly did get it since its possible at this point that UPS delivered to the wrong address and someone other than me accepted it (the later did indeed happen). I will think about it. I remember working for someone selling expensive comics and coins across the continent through e-bay (at first it was not a main chunk of the business but it grew to more and more volume) and the golden rule was to ship it to the same address as indicated on paypal or else we would have no recourse if something happened.

For starter, I would NEVER buy anything autograph related off Ebay, unless it came from a store that have a 100% positive rating with an absurdly high score. How the hell can one proves a signature is legit?

As for the wrong address thing, it's still the seller's fault. Write that s#!t down correctly for fox's sake. It happen to me a few times that I had some close call like this like one wrong number on the postal code. But I never got a refund than the item after that. Too often I dealt with a shady seller on Seibertron who "borrowed" money from me and Paypal had to step in. Those cases locked my money away for more than a month each times with absolutely no items in the end. Now I never deal with Seibertron noobs who have less than 100 posts on the site. Especially those who just have 1 or 2 posts.

I bought that Iron Man, the deal was too good to pass up. I went hunting today (more on that when I can) at that marcher au puces we went to together one, Kan. I found 1 ok thing but the rest was just too expensive. My daughter and I did find some KISS vinyls. Its her favourite band and vinyls are a fun cheap way to get a nice memento with that giant image.

No one will care but it's too awesome not to post.
I randomly found the very first Pullip doll off Ebay.

Pullip Wind, DEBUT Edition!

For just 167$US shipped by EMS from Japan!

Image

To put things in perspective, that doll is the very first one of the Pullip line from 2003. The way the body is made, along the eye mechanism, how the hair is made, screws everywhere, weird proportions, basic make-up.... Pullips have come a long way since 2003. Consider this as a "G1" Pullip.

Anyway, Wind is the very first. Try looking for her on Ebay. I'll wait.
Zero results, right?
Now check out the SOLD listings. Still Zero.
And that's just the normal edition of Wind.

Wind normally just came by herself. But a very limited run came with a cool diecast bike, called Debut.

Image

And that's the one I found! Ever since I started my Pullip collection, it was my grail. Something I never thought I'd come across. Especially at such a low, low price!
Sure, it's used and the hair is a mess but who care. I GOT HER! Used and re-boxed. Normally, I trash all my boxes but this one, I carefully save.

Image

The bike is fantastic and everything work. Even the brakes and pedals! All diecast too!

Image

Unfortunately, it's too small for the doll so making such a pose is as stable as a house of cards.

Image

Compared to modern Pullips, the first one is very... basic. But it's kinda unfair. It's like comparing G1 Optimus Prime to MP-10.

Image

You may wonder why I'm freaking out so much over a silly doll, but just imagine landing on the very first run of the very first Diaclone Transformers. In box. For just a few bucks above 100$. Yeah, that's the feeling.

I bet it's 17 AMERICAN dollars. What's the regular price in America? Bet the sale % isn't that much.

Don't forget that the 30$ above is in CANADIAN. Meaning 23$US. Still a différence, but not much condidering that most Canadian goods are more expensive because reasons. And when the regular price of the thing is 80$ Canadian, having 50$ off is indeed incredible.

Also, I hate to break it to you but if you have a collection of those big Marvel Legend figures, you have a DOLL collection too. ;)

b4 xmas
these and Captain America
were at my local Ross
for $16.99

sorry

I bet it's 17 AMERICAN dollars. What's the regular price in America? Bet the sale % isn't that much.

Don't forget that the 30$ above is in CANADIAN. Meaning 23$US. Still a différence, but not much condidering that most Canadian goods are more expensive because reasons. And when the regular price of the thing is 80$ Canadian, having 50$ off is indeed incredible.

Also, I hate to break it to you but if you have a collection of those big Marvel Legend figures, you have a DOLL collection too. ;)

if you have a Masterpiece or Leader size anything... you have a doll.
:-D

besides
im 46
i still go nite nite with a plush Devil Dinosaur, Lotso Bear and Cthulhu.
My wife is there too.
and her Fluffy Unicorn & plushy Buddy Christ.

like i said
we all gotta thing.

;)^

PS
regular MSRP?
$60 USD
I think

Well, a robot is a robot.
Another kind of "masterpiece" dolls are Hot Toys.
A way to have a creepy realistic pocket sized celebrity. With actual fabric clothes and everything.

As for the age thing, many pages ago I posted about getting back my old Fisher Price farm from the 1970's. Still proudly on display.

You love a thing, you get the thing. No foks given.

Congrats on the find, Kanra! As someone that used to write occasional news articles on Pullip, Blythe and the like I can appreciate the excitement of getting something like this.

The only actual "doll" I own is a pre-production review sample Ruby from RWBY that 3A sent me years ago. When I got her the legs were totally worn out so she couldn't stand at all, they had to send me a second set of legs so I could actually take photos of it. Some days I really miss the perks of working at Tomopop (RIP).

The privileges of getting early samples! Sure, there's work to be done but having nice things in advance is a nice pay in itself.

On the Pullip side, next grails to get are Leprotto and the limited Carol. Those two are worth a few grands each. But unless there's a silly incredible opportunity like for Debut, I'd rather buy the original G1 Pretender Metalhawk and Sky Shadow if I must pay the full price.

But as for those Pretenders, grail hunting require patience and a great deal of luck. And once you actually find a grail at a great price, the victory feeling is just incredible! 8-)
