Agreed, static pose, he's a damn fine figure to look at and want, then you see him with his arm in the air and you don't care.

That's why I have been hesitating about getting Megs, looks good, but doesn't pose good.

Unless you go through the effort of joining a collector's club and get a replica firearms permit and import papers.
Odd question: do you have any real life friends who also collect TF's? I think if you (or anyone else for that matter) were able to handle this Megatron before buying, you'd be sold. The face sculpt is killer, I love the look of the cannon extended *snicker*, sculpted spark chamber is a great touch, and WORKING TREADS!Burn wrote:The legs and cannon killed it for me with Megatron. Depending on how he wants to build his collection (he is only 15 after all), missing out on this Megatron may not be such a bad thing. There's others he could pick up, and Hasbro/TT are bound to have another crack at him down the track.

Well, in the case of the Takara version, I could see a Japanese fan wanting to own it for the same reasons one might want a toy of Galvatron, or G-2 Megatron, or any of Megatron's other upgraded forms, while already owning a suitable toy of G1 Megatron proper. For that case, one might want it for its being yet another of Megatron's many upgraded forms, as the Japanese Legends LG13 Megatron represents the latest upgraded form of the (Japanese) G1 cartoon Megatron character, circa some point after the Japanese G-2 fiction.william-james88 wrote:shajaki wrote:Fine. Very curious about something. What purpose does Leader Megatron have in a collection containing Apollyon. Is it for the sake of having a collection made up only of Hasbro/Takara products (which is quite noble)?

Well, you asked about why one would want to own this Leader mold if one already had a suitable figure to represent G1 Megatron proper (i.e. - you example of Apollyon), so I gave an example of why one would do so, using the Takara version of the mold as part of the example since it's the same mold you asked about, but represents a specific form of the character that isn't made redundant by a figure like Apollyon. But regardless of whether it's the Hasbro or Takara version, both are the same mold, making the ownership of either one qualify for answering your original inquiry.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Well, in the case of the Takara version, I could see a Japanese fan wanting to own it for the same reasons one might want a toy of Galvatron, or G-2 Megatron, or any of Megatron's other upgraded forms, while already owning a suitable toy of G1 Megatron proper. You'll have to pardon my lack of speed and wit in these topics, but why are you mentioning the Takara version in this Hasbro thread? Or does that mean that this is the only way you see the sense in the inclusion of this figure and thus there is not much reason for a westerner to own the Hasbro version?
