Not necessarily. In Legacy more liberties can be taken with deco and design. In SS86 he would have to look just like he did on screen.Autobot N wrote:I'm not really sure what difference Blitzwing being in SS86 or Legacy makes. It'd still be the same toyRodimus Prime wrote:Skids is also the only one I have on preorder, and IIRC Beast Wars Inferno and Tarantulas are coming in the line as well. Those are the only ones along with maybe Blitzwing that I'll get. Though I still think Blitzwing should have been in SS86.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I have to say that the only Legacy toy I'm currently looking forward to is Skids.
That's it.
Based on all we've seen thus far (at least that's been newsed), Skids is the only one I'm particularly anticipating. And Bulkhead is the only other one I rate as particularly neat, just not on my "get" list. The others are all either under "Disappointing", "Waste of a slot", or "Don't know enough."

Yeah, Blaster replaced his slot, but not his number.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Which also canceled his Kingdom rerelease.o.supreme wrote:ER Starscream was re relased in SS86 with minimal tooling and paint differences, and some extra "stuff" to make it a leader.
I was wondering if that happened. Thanks for letting me know.

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Get over it, people: The subline labels aren't as meaningful anymore when it comes to neo-G1 stuff. The main meaning of the SS86 label isn't strictly movie accuracy since all the neo-G1 TFTM toys are going for that; it's movie focus. The characters sold under that banner are primarily TFTM newbies, with a few featured-but-not-introduced-in-the-movie characters to round out the assortments.
And tbh the only Kingdom TFTM mold with particularly noticeable liberties vs. the movie is Ultra Magnus, because he's a retool.
As for the SS86 labeling on BB Cliffjumper, it's just an attempt to make his accurate-layout-but-KO-grade deco more exciting.
Moving on from that... My feeling that Legacy should be paused in favor of an Earthrise restock is only getting stronger. There are two particularly good toys (Skids and Bulkhead) and one okay toy (Laser Optimus, who while he pales next to the original is less pathetic in the trailer dept. than ER Optimus) among what we've actually properly seen, and the rest are disappointments (Thanks for screwing up Menasor twice, HasTak!) or just unknown quantities beyond name.
Meanwhile, what is a known quantity is every ER Seeker not named Starscream got scalped horrendously and is now being resold at annoying prices, and several ER Deluxes cost $50-$60 on eBay. There are tail-end SIEGE toys in a similar boat.

His reviews are obviously a lot sillier than others, but it gives us a good look at the toy and gimmicks.

I agree with Thew that this tow itself is not bad, just generic and Bulkhead deserved better.
Still gonna buy it though.

I think it was more a response to what happened recently with Mattell having 2 YouTube toy review channels shut down even though they legit purchased new Jurassic World Dominion toys from an online retailer. They got shut down because "spoilers".
I would be weary of anyone reviewing new KotB toys, even if they are kid oriented. Hasbro dosen't seem to care about free advertising of most of their toys, even if obtained unscrupulously. But for a brand new movie, Paramount might lean on Hasbro harder.

Oh yeah, you're right about that one.
What a shitshow. Mattel is truly out of touch regarding free online advertising. Especially when that advertising is worth MILLIONS and going against it is like spending money to ruin your reputation. Akin to some game/movie producers who defend their flawed products against dissatisfied fans by telling them "If you don't like it, don't buy it." Then Pikachu-face when sales go down the drain.

I only know about this debacle in the most headline skimmy of ways, but is it possible Paramount dropped the hammer on Mattel to crack down on it - and were the toys in question for the upcoming movie?
On the surface (which is as far as I even want to go on this), it looks bad.

I would be happy about this, but I'm in the process of moving out of my current address and the new shipping date is mere days before I hand my keys back to the landlord, and it's now too late to change the shipping address. I just hope Hasbro Pulse doesn't pull the same crap with my Arcee pre-order out of the blue and move the shipping date to just before or just after I move out.
Unless by some miracle you can track down the BotCon 2005 one for a decent price.o.supreme wrote:Come to think of it now, I have (or will have) in Generations form; every faction leader from the original series, except Deszaurus (if they ever make one) .
