I’m so much more likely to buy it if it’s decently screen accurate and free of any extra mainline gimmick of that time, as well as the nasty Siege greebling & battle damage paint apps. I’m so glad that’s all being left in the past, & will never be a part of SS86.
This also makes me glad I never opened my NF Prime; he and Soundwave both look great in that packaging.
The only drawback for me with a CC OP will be the fact that I won’t display the trailer; it will most likely stay packed away.

I was going to say I can't imagine dropping $80 for a toy and keeping $50 of it set aside, but my Buzzworthy Bumblebee 4-packs would disagree.

I hear ya!
And you could probably get back most of that difference by selling off what you don’t want from those 4 pks.
Which reminds me of selling Rodimus’s trailer for $30 after getting him on sale for $65.
At this point I could just pretend that trailer is in a box in my basement.
Meaning I haven’t missed it one bit.
Meanwhile, I have an extremely good voyager-almost-leader-class figure on my shelf that was only $35.
I probably wouldn’t sell CC Prime’s trailer, but who knows…
Don’t you think he the figure) will be a brand new mold?
I’m betting of the $90, the figure alone will be worth $45+ at least.
AcademyofDrX wrote:I don't know, this is all hypothetical, right? I'm a big fan of the Siege and Earthrise engineering, so I don't think they'd need to reinvent the wheel. There are lots of little things they could clean up for the Earthrise version like the vestigial Siege legs, but I'm not sure how much extra value they could pack into the base figure.

I gave him the armor and Delta Magnus head of one of my two SG Ultra Magnus toys, to give him the Super Mode that G1 Optimus never had and should have had back in 1986, but was robbed of by Hasbro's choosing to kill off Optimus an make the Powered Convoy toy a separate character.
As someone with zero standing preorders, I just checked the availability on the listings of that next wave and was told the following:Rodimus Prime wrote:Amazon just notified me that Needlenose will be delivered in a few days. I wonder if the other figures in the wave will be moved up. My Stunticons await Breakdown.
I'm fully expecting 2024 is gonna be SS86 Commander Optimus (since that's where all the WFC-G1 redos are going these days and it keeps them from having to sell a Legacy Commander Optimus for 2 years in a row) who possibly shares parts/engineering with Magnus if Magnus has the cab bot, and Legacy Commander Tidal Wave as the combiner partner and companion piece for Leader Armada Megatron (who I imagine would get repacked around that time) and the antithesis of Armada Prime, as despite my personal want of Titan Tidal Wave, I think the current design team would want to work in that combination for the play value and the cross-sell with Megs.Emerje wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Based on what?o.supreme wrote:william-james88 wrote:Commander G1 Prime will be a thing, we just don't know when exactly. He's one of the toys we know Hasbro has designed (just like we knew Takara had an mp Trailbreaker in the works but that took like over 5 years to materialize).
Likely in the SS86 line at some point. It's just as likely if not moreso he'll be in the 2024 mainline instead.
The main line Commanders should really be left to large or gimmicky characters that can benefit from the increased price point, SS Commanders should be for characters that need the price point to obtain proper screen accuracy in both modes. We've got our main line Optimus Prime several times over, time for our screen accurate one with fully loaded trailer and I'd rather he wasn't taking up space that could go to a new Fire Convoy, Energon Prime, Tidal Wave and so on. They'll hopefully make the SS Commander interchangeable between SS proper and SS86 and not just SS86 because I'd like to see Scorn as a Commander, he's bigger than Grimlock (who's already pushed the limits of the price point) in the movie and would really benefit from the class (Slug and Strafe can be Leaders).

-Hot Shot is allegedly in stock right now
-Needlenose, Leo Prime, and the 3 Cores are all shipping later in the month
-Scraphook and Tarn still say March 1st thus far
-Can't find the listing for Breakdown

o.supreme wrote:^ Yep, got my Core Slag yesterday. This is the 1st Core class toy I've purchased. Not bad, but definitely could have used some more articulation in the limbs, but perhaps that would have compromised the stability of the combined mode? Anyway... not bad for a budget figure. Sludge is scheduled to arrive for me next Wednesday (1/11) as well, though it actually hasn't shipped yet.
Also, I was kind of hoping for Hasbro to send out a "Back in stock" notice yesterday, they were doing them each Friday for a while, but haven't done so in about a month, maybe they are taking inventory for the end/beginning of the new year? I honestly dont think Minerva ever even appeared anywhere near me. I've checked at least a dozen Walgreens stores, about half of them had Red Alert, (So I've probably seen at least 30 Red Alerts Recently), and the other half had nothing.
And Optimus & Magnus with full-featured versions of their trailers aren't large/gimmicky?Emerje wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Based on what?o.supreme wrote:william-james88 wrote:Commander G1 Prime will be a thing, we just don't know when exactly. If we get a new RiD Optimus (not that we really need one) it will most likely be Leader-class, in order to scale with Diet Scourge.Emerje wrote:We've got our main line Optimus Prime several times over, time for our screen accurate one with fully loaded trailer and I'd rather he wasn't taking up space that could go to a new Fire Convoy, Energon Prime, Tidal Wave and so on.
That, I would like to see.Emerje wrote:They'll hopefully make the SS Commander interchangeable between SS proper and SS86 and not just SS86 because I'd like to see Scorn as a Commander, he's bigger than Grimlock (who's already pushed the limits of the price point) in the movie and would really benefit from the class (Slug and Strafe can be Leaders).

That was my initial reaction to the thighs as well, but the more I thought about it and looked back at shots from Animated, the more I realized that the chunky thighs flaring out actually kinda mimics the baggy tucked-in bike pants on his holographic driver/human avatar, and now I'm cool with it. I'm also waiting to fully judge the bike mode until we've seen it transformed correctly for certain, I find that hole in the side-view too suspect to believe that it's actually intended and the front view of the bike definitely looks to me like parts aren't aligned right, everything above the wheel/leg is angled wrong.Sabrblade wrote:Oof, those are some wide thighs on the meant-to-be lean ninja Prowl. Looks like they also kinda add to the chunk of the bike mode.
