Finally got myself a toy in these trying personal times:

Earthrise Decepticon Airwave

Got him at Walmart during the weekly groceries with my father-in-law, and this is one of the few times I like their app. Saw him hanging, saw the tag at regular price, did a price check with the app: $10. Checked out at $10 at the register too, so it's a "stealth" clearance I suppose. Next time I may get Snapdragon, he was like $17, but I don't have Siege Apeface...

I got the original G1 Airwave set from my grandmother when I was a kid, so that character is dear to me...

Several walmarts across the US have been doing stealth clearances on earthrise toys. It started about 3 weeks ago and seems to be spreading.

2020 was a pretty crap year. So I decided to reward AND punish myself at the same time by indulging in a urge that just had to be satisfied.

GOD NEPTUNE!

Twice.

The Select from the Canadian Age 3 and Up, the 1998 original from Japanese eBay.
Both ordered one or two days appart... And both arrived at the SAME TIME!

Total bill with taxes and shipping: around half a Canuck grand.

But eh, two grails at once!

Ouch, I've got a few that have a leg or two that will fall off if I do anything other than stand them up.

As for my own haul I got ER Megatron in from Walmart (won't be finding him in stores and was already ordering stuff) and ER Ironhide and Prowl from Amazon (finally). FedEx was nice enough to leave them sitting on top of my mailbox instead of at my door, lucky somebody didn't drive by and grab them. The real kicker is my mailbox isn't even at my house, it's about a quarter mile away at the end of the private road I live on. It's one thing if USPS does it, it's a mailbox and not a public road so they don't have to deliver to my house if they don't want to, but FedEx should know better.

So even though I'm 40 I still get a Christmas stocking from my dad and step mother because they think it's funny and they like tradition stuff. Usually it's just random stuff they find from Dollar Tree like toothbrushes, cheap tools, candy and maybe a Hot Wheels car because why not? This year I had a Cyberverse Scout Megatron in my stocking. My dad is only slightly aware that I have a collection, he saw it once about 15 years ago when it was about a quarter of the size it is now and that's why he bought it. It may be a garbage figure, but it's still a Megatron for Christmas so he's going on the shelf.

And because you got him from your dad who doesn't give you **** for being 40 and "collecting toys" so it has special meaning. I have a couple of figures I wouldn't look at otherwise I was given as presents by people who I care about that I kept all this time.

Got Astrotrain for Christmas. Along with an amazimg prop for Titans. I wanted Scorponok too but thanks to the frakking scalpers that didn't happen. I did at least get $125 total in eBay giftcards towards him.
