Not necessarily. Black Arachnia and Ratrap's alt modes should have been pretty tiny, but they didn't mass-shift and were nearly as big as Rhinox, TM Prime and Dinobot.
Caelus wrote:By the mechanics of the game, Scorponok's Cyber-bee and Polarclaw's Robo-bat are effectively 'target masters'.
Well, okay, it's a tad off because those became independent when they were in bot-mode, which is actually the opposite of how it works in the game...
But surely you can see how it potentially works. So far I've written up several Maximal/Predacons that have drones or partners - usually just an extensiopn of themselves.

Basicaly I'm just sayin', tis what you make of it.

Freakin Aey and Rumble and Frenzy could have been an Axe and a Bass!

While I can see a bit of flexability as far as imagination goes, I am more concerned with making a transformer that has not *master feature being included in mission text like 'joebot uses targetmaster on fredcon'. This made it disheartening to watch my space battleship con run around as a 'space shuttle' in those same texts... Plus I prefer tactics that are more in line with the alt. I choose. And in the targetmaster/headmaster alts there are only two a piece. Maybe it is just my brain's unwillingness to ignore the name tags in the game text but it still rubs me the wrong way.
And it is not like the Maximals will be getting more alts since the two alt. pics in question are already in the Maximal list, so it would be the video game equivilent of giving the red paint scheme to the other car or creature. Purely asthetic and simple to execute mechanicaly.

Try as i can, i just cannot understand why they were given to the preds and not the cons.
- The (good) movies pre-date G1 so its not their age.
- The SWTF toy's are all large bulky mechanoids, not small fleshy squishable dinosaurs.
- The Autobots have the X-Wing; so surely their ancient enemies would have the opposing craft?
Is it just because the preds were lacking in aerial modes or is there something ive missed?

Naturally im biased, but it just doesnt make sense. I guess im hoping its not that they were added to the pred list just for the sake of building up the numbers.

Check back in a couple days though psych

This man is correct.
Also, I know someone has done a Tie Interceptor (infact I have a sneaking suspision it's Mkall). Why cant we have easily the coolest (IMO) looking tie of the lot on the game?

Mainly for the fact that even though both sunstreaker and sideswipe are the same type of cars, they are two distinctly different bots, therefore deserving 2 seperate alt modes.

This got passed, over, so I'll try it again

The decepticon tanks aren't too good, either. I'm missing something like this:
