i like the one with the translucent red.
the other one is ok...

anyone know why there are so many variants this time around?

Because a Ratchet is a tool. No, not an insult, a Ratchet is a handywork tool. Hasbro needed to make it Autobot Ratchet for Trademark reasons. Like they had to for Jazz (Jazz music), Tracks (like the Tracks on a street), Grapple (a Grapple Line), etc.

Thank you for the welcome. I'm new to using forums but my son and I have been collecting for a while.

BTW this new Starscream repaint is way looser compared to my sons ROTF Starscream. I really like this mold though.

Not buying any of them i bought the rotf one and the deluxe dotm one.

* Jazz (for some reason )

Starscream can be a shelfwarmer for all I care.

ya.. i feel a little sacreligous feeling when ever you, wait, ANYONE speaks of a tf being a god or anything of the sort.

and how is starscream a god when he is a childrens toy? and having a shrine is not the same as an idol.
now if it did come to the point when the shrine was an idol for anyone then i guess he is that persons god.

I suppose I might end up getting this figure. If I do, I'll probably try to get the one with the transparent cockpit. I'm not a huge fan of the mold, and I already have the Leader version, and it would be more than good enough for me, except that I'm planning to have two Movie figure displays, one of which would be smaller scale and would require a smaller Starscream (so that the robot mode sizes wouldn't look ridiculous).

That's not what bothers me about him. What bothers me is they keep releasing the crappy first movie Voyager mold and people still buy it. At least its a store exclusive this time but still... Ironhide got some love this movie which is good, poor Ratchet only gets new deluxe molds every so often.

If anyone can hook me up with an Opaque Windows version, I'd be grateful.

i found the translucent one first as there were plenty at mt local target,then i found the post of the variant which was the solid red.i've seen different sites saying the solid red is the variant and vice versa,well the back of the box shows it being solid red.but in my opinion i jus think its a defect.i still got em both,so what the hey.and by the way when i spot em on the shelf there seem to be more translucent versions like 3 out of 5.and that was at 2 different target stores.

soo which one is the frickin variant damn it!!!!
