First SEIBERTRON.com Subsection homepage launches!

I'm trying something new out here at SEIBERTRON.com. One of the features I created with the new site design that I launched last weekend includes a template I can use for a homepage look for the various sub-sections throughout this site. Given how much this site has revolved around the toy galleries during the past 2 years, I thought it would be appropriate to launch the first sub-section homepage in the Toy Galleries section which you can access at http://SEIBERTRON.com/toys/.

Some of you might wonder what the hell's the point of this. Well, if you look closely, you'll see that the Spotlight image and all of the features on this specialized subsection homepage are all relevant to that particular subsection. Even the news that displays on the subsection homepage is relevant to that particular section.

Given all of the content on this website and all of the massive amounts of news that the extremely active and kick ass SEIBERTRON.com News Staff keeps providing us with, I decided that it would be helpful to break the site apart into into noticeable subsections. Basically, if you are just into the Transformers toys, you should be able to theoretically bookmark http://SEIBERTRON.com/toys/ as your homepage and you'll have a customized homepage experience without having to read about the movie or the comics or whatever other crap you don't want to have to sort through. Now you'll be able to just enjoy content about the Transformers toys.

One of the coolest parts about this is that the subsection homepages will actually serve content automatically to the main homepage. The homepage just looks for the latest content that's in the other sections and switches out the content so that the most current content on SEIBERTRON.com will always be on the homepage.

Other subsections on the site that are due for a subsection homepage facelift: Vector Sigma Database (which will focus on the comics and cartoon content), Heavy Metal War and an upcoming all-new section simply called "Events" which will focus on past, current and future events in the Transformers hobby. I would really like to provide something like this for the Energon Pub and the News section but I haven't discussed this with the rest of the staff yet.

Please provide your feedback about this new functionality. I put a lot of thought and time into reprogramming SEIBERTRON.com so that it can serve a more customized view of the site to better suit your interests. You might not be able to enjoy its full effect right now since a lot of the content on the main homepage is coming from the Toy section currently but as additional subsection homepages come online, you'll get to enjoy the full benefit of what I've put together.
