Amazon Japan has listed preorders and pictures of series 7 of the Kabaya Gum kits. This set features the leaders of 3 combiner teams. We get Silver Bolt, Motormaster and Onslaught. The figures come with combiner kibble so hopefully we will see subsequent series come out with the rest of the combiner teams. Check out the images below.

So does this mean Kabaya's planing the rest of the Aerialbots, Combaticons and Stunticons? :-?

Please tell me I'm not dreaming because I see updated G1 combiners that resemble their cartoon selfs more than the G1 toy. Not only that, but we have Motormaster with clearly his combiner crotchplate on his back and Onslaught with his chest shield. I don't care that these will be small figures, I HAVE to get these, and the limbs.

If you look carefully you can see the back of Superion's head on the top of the jet in front of the waist piece. Also, Menasor's head (the top at lest) pokes up from the back behind Motormaster's. Let's hope for some Terrorcon and Seacon love in the future. And while I'm thinking about it...didn't they release a Hot Spot last year?

These bastards look awesome.

Apparently the next wave after these will be called Gaia Scramble and will include two limb members from each team.

That's awesome that they gave Motormaster his animated head instead of his traditional toy head. Kudos Kabaya!

I bought Hot Spot on a whim (along with the other two in his wave, WfC Optimus and Deathsaurus), and I have to say that Hot Spot is absolutely FANTASTIC! I'm still disappointed with Optimus, and Deathsaurus is quite cool, but Hot Spot is definitely the standout from his wave, even without being a combiner torso. I'm sure these new ones will be great, and I'm looking forward to picking up Superion and maybe Menasor.

Dude, YES! I need some combiner love on my WST shelf! Onslaught and Silverbolt, at least. I really hope these guys get their limbs. Looks like they probably will, why would they include combiner kibble if not? I still need to catch up on the previous wave of these guys too.

w00t!

These look fantastic. While I got the Protectorbots last year, I felt the limbs weren't quite up to scratch compared to Hot Spot (who was, like all Kabaya, a great figure) but I'm betting they've learnt and these limbs will be as good as the bigger guys.

Thanks to the Rakuten shop toysanta we have our first look at the "limb" figures in Kabaya's latest round of combiners. The assortment only features six molds, two from each combiner team, that effectively pull double duty. Each figure can be transformed into two different characters depending on how the parts are put together. For example the pictured Vortex figure can be reconfigured into Blastoff. The molds will also come in different colors to help further the differences in the characters. These six can combine on their own to form a larger robot and of course combine with the recently revealed Kabaya team leaders. Images mirrored below.

Kabaya is inventing new characters again, but they're just weird colored Stunticons, okay I guess. Combined form looks good though! Fireflight and Air Raid lookin' snazzy as always.

Not entirely sure what's going on with Vortex there, he's giving an Astrotrain vibe in robot mode.

Well...that's odd. I hope they put out another wave with more characters so we can get full combiner teams for Onslaught & Silverbolt.

Posted by quebecer on June 4th, 2013 @ 12:24pm CDT
It looks to me like the Vortex-ish figure is a triple change that is part Vortex and part Blastoff. This way, it can be used as either. This is the reason for the Astrotrain vibe we are getting from it. I'm guessing that we'll see another set of 6 figures to complete the 3 combiners.

ok, looks like we are going to have to get 2 sets and do a lot of painting. I can see getting 2 characters out of the arialbot and stunticon molds, and vortex has me convinced he can do blastoff as well, but how are we supposed to get swindle out of brawl?

fix'd ^

I too am curious to see how this is going to play out. Worst case scenario, I guess, is to have to mix-and-match the scramble combiner limbs. What a crazy concept.

Wait, the kits will come in different colors? So does that mean there's a possibility of getting a box that's all vortex and Brawls in different colors and thus not get a complete set?

There's 10 to a box so you'll have 6 unique and 4 double ups.

When you buy a box it's never lucky draw. You always get the same assortment so you can always complete a set.

but with the way its shelling out, we may need 12 to get a complete set, 6 regular colors and 6 alternate colors

I'm totaly with you on the Vortex, being retooled as BlastOff, I think that he was initialy designed as BlastOff, but they are previewing him as vortex first as if it was the other way round we would definently think theyhave just retooled blast off to make vortex. This way we accept the mould as vortex, but when he is released as blastoff, as he will be more suited to the mould it will have less compramises. The robot mode is BlastOff all day long, I had to look twice, there are parts there that have been forced to wrk as a helicopter, as the arms could be so much better, as there is no need for them to be so rounded. The Helicopter is so generic they could of made decent arms that merge to make the tail, instead the arms are the nose of a shuttle, which double up as the tail of the helicopter, plus the parts that finish off the tail are obviously the parts needed to retool BlastOff into vortex, otherwise for such a small figure those parts would of been simplified and incorporated into the mould more.
I must say I am disapointed in the combined mode, as the torso parts had such an improved look when in there uncombined characters, I thought the improvements would of run through into the merged form, but sadly the flaws remain, and possibly worsened. These sort offigures are for the fan who has everything.

Posted by Burn on June 4th, 2013 @ 3:33pm CDT
There wouldn't be much in the way of re-tooling. The base figures will be like little Mr Potato Heads and you just add appropriate parts (wings/rotors etc).

A little disappointed they went this way, but given the size and simplicity of them it's not surprising.

To be fair, this combined mode is more of a "Hey, look at the thing we did because why not?" rather than the main show. The big finale is the limbs combined with a proper torso.

I shall call him... Liokaiser Jr., only because of the way he has a jet's canopy forming his chest.

But that's assuming each mold comes in only two colors and if each color comes in a box. We might have a situation where in a case all of the brawl/swindle molds are green.

IF they come in similar colours, they will have sticker sets to fix things up.

These kits may not be the highest quality, but there hasn't been a Kabaya figure in recent years that has been disappointing.

It's true though.

I love the little buggers. I don't love putting them together (yay for fat fingers!) but I love opening them and working out the engineering that's gone into them and how similar, but different they are to their larger versions.

And as others have said, they're often more sturdier. Sure they may lack ball joints, but they're still surprisingly articulated.
