Masterpiece Sunstorm Found in TRU Computers - Possible US Release?

I just checked the item number at the TRU I work at. Its listed in our computer and priced at $86.99.

I'd bite on both Acid Storm and Sunstorm if they were priced at a reasonable $50. Heck, I might even go the full $75 if they'd do a decent US Starscream. But really... the uniqueness of the mold is gone.

I would buy a new seeker every year in that mold.

Curiouser and curiouser.

this is good news for me. i am just getting into MPs and i would love a sunstorm and prowl.

And to think some people say that the $60 price for MP Prowl @ TRU has got to be wrong, that it's got to be less.

I have the Takara version, but would pick up this TRU release... if only to demonstrate Takara's plastic quality and general superiority.

Do people think the price increase is arbitrary, or that the coronation gear is included?

Acidstorm is still $86.99 as well though, at least in my current store.

yet we STILL cant get an affordable US release of mp-11 STARSCREAM!

Comments like this kill me because I have MP-11 and Hasbro TC and Acid Storm and you can't tell the difference between the three.

Of course. Now that I already shelled out the money import the masterpiece MP-11 Starscream, there's no way it won't be released stateside for much less

The price for Prowl is probably about right as your dealing with an official license from Nissan, which is why Sideswipe cant be released due to licensing issues.

The jet mold for the Seekers isn't licensed so you get more toy for your money.

If it has the proper Sunstorm creamsicle colors, color me interested. But I'm still disappointed at no MP Optimus rerelease or Starscream and Skywarp. Seriously, with Sunstorm Hasbro has released 3 of these seekers. We could've had a hasbro released Seeker trio by now

Hasbro released their MP Starscream back in 2007 and MP Skywarp back in 2009, even if the mold has been retooled since then.

This is great news I just picked up Acidstorm last week for $75 at toyrus. I We need the coneheads soon.

Sort of tangenting, but I have been hoping that Takara would remold this version of the Seeker mold for Coneheads since the release of the MP 11 Starscream. New(ish) mold, why not use it for new entries into the MP line? Here's to still hoping.

Any idea of a release date for this? Or for the Prowl? I'd imagine that if it is in the TRU system with a SKU, the toy can't be more than a few months out.

Not true. The numbers can be in the system for several months before release. If past releases hold true, it should be late summer/early fall before they see a shelf spot.

Botcon has to come and go, possibly SDCC as well.

Fawk it, I already ordered MP-11 and if I ever want Sunstorm, I'll just get the bloody Takara one so I wont have to deal with the usual bull that always come with the Hasbro releases.

If they do....doesn't that kind of defeat the point of making Sunstorm an exclusive? It's almost like they're buying up extra stock and selling him at a higher price, for extra profit. People do this on eBay and they're called scalpers.

I admit, I'm not the most knowledgeable about this practice, but it just doesn't sit right with me.

Wow, that's, uh, jeez. Guess I need to stop procrastinating on MP-11S before it disappears.

If Sunstorm comes to the UK then I will buy.

I would like to see a small change to the mold though, the flaps on the rear wheels on the jet should hinge the other way so the wheels are on the outside and not hidden away behind those flaps. Would make. A big difference to the look off the alt mode.

Well, the more hate this sucker gets, the better chance I have at getting him.

His colors aren't perfect, but it's enough for me to recognize that it's Sunstorm. If I ever get the money, I'll definitely try and pick him up.

Aside from the shoulders, it's doesn't even look like any existing Sunstorm deco out there, let alone the BotCon one.

And it may just be the quality of the image, but his yellow/gold/orange looks more like peach!

Upon second viewing, the closest Sunstorm deco this resembles is probably either Animated Sunstorm or ROTF The Game G1 Sunstorm. Except with both decos heavily messed up.

Thanks to the Toy Dojo Facebook page, we finally see our first glimpse at Toys "R" Us's impending Masterpiece exclusive, Sunstorm! Based on comparisons by Seibertron.com user Sabrblade, it appears that Sunstorm's deco is an amalgam of his Animated self and how he appeared in the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen game. Well surprisingly the Takara version looks better IMO. I think it's the plastic color, if he was shifted to a creamsicle orange color he would look way better. This is in no way a "Masterpiece". Hope they do better with Skywarp

I'm not typically too hard on TFs, but that paint job is absolutely terrible. It's cheap and pathetic. I was looking forward to this. Not anymore.

I didn't mind paying $75 for Thundercracker and Acid Storm. If this is an accurate picture, I will pass this up. Sad. Just sad.

I'm surprised by the negative reactions... but maybe I shouldn't be, lol. I don't even like Sunstorm and I don't think it looks that bad. I like it a lot more than Acid Storm.

I know its just me, But due to the poor quality of the photo, the deco looks like dragstrip, yellow body, red details, blue face, purple head

Between Masterpiece and Platinum someone in Hasbro's repaint department has lost their mind lately. Easy pass in those ugly colors.
