Greetings Seibertronians! We've got two video reviews to share with you all today, both covering the same figure, the forthcoming Transformers Generations Selects Bugbite!

The first is a review from fellow Seibertron user and YouTube toy reviewer, PrimeVsPrime.

The second is a review from new YouTube toy reviewer, The Mr Stan Show.

Generations Selects Bugbite is a redeco of Earthrise Deluxe Class Cliffjumper with Bumblebee's head. He's also sporting the Mercenary badge. This marks the second time that Cliffjumper served as the basis of a Selects figure, following Hubcap who also uses a different head.

What do you think of this toy? Do you have a preorder in for this hired gun? Or do you still wish that they had redeco'ed Bumblebee completely, keeping the VW like alt mode? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

I pre-ordered Mercenary Soundblaster tonight, decided I wanted the 3rd and for the moment final Mercenary toy. It'll be fun to get him and experience the mold in this way.

I am of the opinion that Bugbite is worthless and will remain worthless until a conversion kit comes out. Or unless, miracle of miracles, Hasbro recalls the existing run and redoes him with the Bumblebee version of the mold. The version they should have used in the first place.

I'm going to be negative and uncompromising about this, and here's why:

His name is Bugbite. There's at least 10x the wordplay of Bumblebee's name baked into that. Hasbro should have used the Bumblebee version of the mold, dug out the Classics mold and rehashed G.O.D. Bugbite (at Voyager price if need be), or just not bloody bothered. Because with that name, he needs to be a VW Bug, whether licensed or genericized. The Cliffjumper version of the mold is neither, so this is a complete and total waste of plastic. I'd rather buy an incomplete Armada Side Swipe at WFC Leader price, than this excuse for Bugbite.

It's not going to happen, if it ever was they would of done that instead of going through the effort to have a version of the Cliffjumper mold with Bee's head.

This is very likely a legal thing where VW don't want a licensed evil VW Transformer figure.

I'm more disappointed about the lack of purple patterning on the doors/hood personally.

His chest window is also cleaner with far less window cracks in it.

But what's also interesting is that Hasbro is treating this toy as a Selects figure while Takara is instead treating it as a normal Siege figure.

I wonder if that means that Hasbro actually assigns the TT-GS numbers. That might explain the almost completely random way they have been numbered so far and TT's Siege Nemesis Prime not having one.
Now you got me wondering. Have we seen the "TT-GS" (TakaraTomy Generations Selects) ID numbers on any of the TakaraTomy Mall listings, or only on their Hasbro Pulse listings? :-?

All Selects ID's are Hasbro, TakaraTomy doesn't assign any to their releases in a strange twist.

This. Botcon and Flame Toys did it, I have no idea why the Selects one couldn't have had that color scheme

My guess is they were trying to be faithful to the original toy's deco.

After all, the BotCon version was a body upgrade from that toy, so the new Bugbite toy may be intended to resemble his base form as a Transformer.

If they aren't faithfull to the original toys mold, no need to be faithful on the deco either. Bugbites names just been slapped on a Bumblejumper figure for the most part.

Well, they might have wanted to make it as close as Volkswagen would let them.

Just received an email from Pulse, Super Megs is delayed till December 1st. My wallet says cool but seeing others with him has my jonesing for my plastic fix.

Delays are annoying, but tolerable if they haven't charged you. If they have, then that is pretty messed up. I didn't order Super Megs, but I saw that date on their website a while back...Do they wait until the last minute to push back the dates? God Neptune is 10/24, and we haven't received the inevitable delay notice yet...

Thankfully Pulse doesn't charge until a week before shipping. They used to send me emails prior to charging my card but haven't received those emails lately. And while the order page for Super Megatron had been updated with a new date, twice, this is the first email I've received about a delay. Still better communication than Walmart.

Which brings up this question: has there ever been an official white Classic Beetle? Outside of Herbie

Takara Tomy Selects Soundblaster is a must for me. Even if the ONLY difference were the fact that it has the Mercenary faction symbol. I've got 35th Anniversary Soundblaster from Walmart, and that can serve as the Headmasters rebuilt Soundwave version of Soundblaster, while this TTGS one will be the Soundblaster that is a "failed" clone of Soundwave made by Shockwave.

Kinda sorta my thoughts as well, except my Soundblaster is the FOC one with his Buzzsaw

Ya know, as much as I hate delays, I'm not sure I'd mind this one getting delayed a month, would put it away from another order I have in for the month

That's weird, my order summary still says ships approx 10-24. I fully expect at least a 2 month delay in any case, which actually works out just fine for me. I was just dealt a financial blow and will most likely have to cancel anyway, but a delay would give me a little time to consider selling off something else instead to make it work.

I just checked a few order summaries and none of themhave estimated ship dates except God Neptune. I then checked some products pages like the Shattered Glass 2-pack and the Netflix Spoiler w/ Nemesis and they no longer have estimated ship dates noted.

Greetings Seibertronians! Fellow Seibertron user, and YouTube toy reviewer, Thundertron has let us know that they've done a new video review of the forthcoming Transformers Generations Selects Deluxe Class Tigertrack!

Tigertrack is a redeco of the Siege Deluxe Class Sideswipe mold and is a homage to the color of the toy that would become Sideswipe, in the original Diaclone line. The toy comes with Red Alerts gun and and a piece from Siege Deluxe Class Six-Gun/Cromar to act as his shoulder mounted rocket launcher.

The review includes comparisons with all the other uses of the Siege Sideswipe mold so far.

We have embedded the review below for your convenience:

Have you got Tigertrack on preorder? Do you agree with the review? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

The same piece that came with Six-Gun also came with the original Sideswipe. There's really no bonus or new parts with Tigertrack except for getting Red Alert's gun.

Posted by Sowndwave76 on October 18th, 2020 @ 8:54pm CDT
I like the look of Tigertrack... Even more than Sunstreaker.
The bummer for me is that there isn't a Sideswipe sans battle damage... He is one of my favorite Autobots, but I don't really want either of the recent figures of him.
So Tigertrack is a bit tempting... But I'll hold off for now. But who knows. With SS86 not being released until April... Hmmmmm.

I thought I was being preliminarily charged for him earlier this month, but the charge disappeared and for some reason in my Pulse orders, my original order shows as cancelled with a re-order of the figure right after the cancellation, so I have no idea what's going on there.

I expect a delay, which wouldn't be too bad, but then at the normal rate of 2 month delay that would put a pretty big charge right around Christmas, which I honestly would not want.

I'd argue December 23 would be worse, still get charged before Christmas, but nothing under the tree because it takes Pulse a minimum of a week from charging to actual shipping.

With the delay, that means that Maverick, Hot House, Bug Bite, Black roritchi, SS As seen in Parks Megatron, AND God Neptune will all be released within 4 days of one another, $350 worth of bots pretty much in one go, and no paypal credit to help either.

That's an overload right around the time when Christmas shopping is at the peak

ok, so I know every TT Selects gets delayed, it's inevitable. However... This first delay is 6 weeks roughly (10/24 to 12/3), can we expect another delay? Basically I'm asking, are they incremental, or is this date goign to be pretty accurate?

I just seem to recall Super Megatron getting pushed back at least twice...but that could be faulty memory based on peoples posts since I didn't actually order one myself. Has Super megs even been released on Pulse yet? (even though it is sold out, usually they still show the estimated arrival date but I dont see any)

Super Megatron should be shipping Decemeber 1st.

Does anyone else think this will result in several cancellations? Cause it being that close to Christmas is already making me consider cancelling, especially as I wss already debating that with Super Megatron, but $300 right at the start of Decemeber is a bit too much.

That's my problem as well, especially since it's on a credit card. Why they can't allow paypal for preorders is beyond me.

I may cancel my other preorders for God Neptune, he is the one i most want from the first week of December jam

I'm sure there will be several cancellations. heck I did it last year with the previous Seacons, much to my chagrin as I paid more than double for them later. Not doing that this time, thankfully I Don't have anything else on pre-order from Pulse.

Also, while I'm not going to get political (as I myself am apolitical), some U.S. fans are probably hedging their bets on a hopefully 2nd stimulus payment before this date comes...We will see.

If I remember correctly Super Megatron was only pushed back once, but it might seem like it was twice based on posts here. I noticed about a month ago that the expected date on the Pulse Listing was pushed back to December and commented here. About a week or 2 after that, we got emails from Pulse indicating the delay, which resulted in more comments here, likely looking to someone who wasn't getting him like a second delay.

I've also cancelled a few pre-orders (including super megs) in favor of keeping God Neptune, but I was planning on him not coming out until December anyway with Pulse's entire history of Takara Selects always being 1-2 months late.

I'd be down for a Select Astrotrain in black and white with NASA logos and whatnots.
Meaning a black train and a shuttle in "normal colors".

For the longest time it seems TR Galvatron was one of the few molds with only one use until TT Selects Super Megatron.

It will be interesting to see if/ how Astotrain and Doubledealer are reused in the future

Maybe it's a custom job going for the toy deco?
Re: New Video Reviews of Transformers Generations Selects Bugbite (2085039)
Posted by ZeroWolf on October 23rd, 2020 @ 5:57am CDT
There's several possibilities, most likely, its just what the photographer has done to his own Siege Astrotrain (maybe he bought two, one to keep animation perfect, the other toy deco custom). Next its a prototype for an actual time train (altering Astrotrain to work out bits and bobs) or, Galaxy Shuttle will be seeing a Takara Selects release soon enough.

Hasbro would be the people to do a toy deco of Astrotrain, but they might be leaving it lie a while since Astrotrain was in Siege's last wave and then again in Earthrise's first wave (and now at discount stores)

I actually think it is just bad lighting and the same toy as Siege/Earthrise. Look at how light in color Gigawatt appears, all of his faux stainless steel details are washed out and he is lighter in that photo than he appears in the Amazon/Pulse listings for him. The same thing appears to be mainly affecting the grey parts of Astrotrain.

Thank you.

The Tweet literally says that it's just Siege Astrotrain. Its colors look off because the lighting is off.

That's not even a fan Twitter, guys, it's TakaraTomy's official Transformers PR Twitter account. All the Tweet is doing is advertising Gigawatt's Japanese preorder.

I did accidentally leave out that your explanation was most likely, was supposed to be added to the end. Though there is a piece on the takara Astrotrain that isn't on the other picture, a black piece. I don't own the toy yet so I don't know if its an accessory that comes with Astrotrain or not. My guesses were just fantasy speculation on the furthest edges of possibility.
