Do NOT like the ports on the figures.

Yeah! I already thought: "Is it me, or is that Shockwave?"

Would be a nice addition to a classics/g1 legends collection.

I do think the alterations Takara have made to Ratchet would be worth paying the premium for, but the rest aren't.
If Hasbro bring the Microns over to the west then that'd be grand. If not, no big loss. Still thinking I might skip PRIME altogether.

They'll be removable. Perhaps not easily, but I don't think they're molded into the design.

According to Peaugh a lot of the decals are stickers on the figures so the obnoxious Autobot logo may just be a sticker.
I agree about the Microns, they'd be cool to have here but I'm pretty apathetic towards them.

son of a bitch.
do you know why?

Prime's micron looks like Shockwave. That makes me want it, even though I'm not impressed with that Optimus. It's the paint job. Only the FE version puts red on his chest under the windows, which is more show accurate.
Skywarp looks fantastic. I could go for a trio of TFP Seekers.

Lol, I was thinking the exact same thing. And it appears that Shockwave defected to the Autobots and now fights as Prime's personal weapon.

As for the figures, the only one I'm really interested in is Ratchet (well, Skywarp too), but instead of dropping $40 on each of these nub-infested piles of plastic, I'll just invest in some Reprolabels and skip on Skywarp entirely, unless Hasbro gets off their lazy asses and releases him too. I do kind of hope the minicons get a release over here somehow though.

I was probably going to nab Skywarp anyway, but the Micron seals the deal.
No interest in Cliffjumper since he's dead and doesn't need a Micron. The other Autobots I'm still up in the air on; I like all three of their Microns quite a lot, but I'm not so sure I dig the wart-like apendages all over their partners. If they featured improved deco to Hasbro's versions in addition to the Microns it would be easier to justify the expense.
I wonder how well Perfect Effect figures would fit into those ports in their weapons modes?
Hopefully these won't sell out immediately so I can think on it a bit, and see if any or all of the Microns' sculpts turn up in future gashopan assortments.

1. I wish Voyager Megatron's head folded away into his body. Having it sitting in the middle of his ship mode, clearly spottable, is sort of annoying. Still, I actually really like the robot mode...it's a great melding of his G1 and movie incarnations.
2. Am I the only one who thinks the Starscream/Skywarp mold is more than a bit too feminine for male characters? A few paint applications and possibly some slight retooling and BAM.... Slipstream.
3. While the weapons/Microns (is that a new name for Minicons?) are pretty cool looking for the most part, does every character need to be a Targetmaster now?
4. Ratchet's sword in robot mode is...ahem....rather well-endowed. Don't designers think of those things when making what are essentially KIDS' toys??

Umm that's not a pic of the Voyager. Even if you're talking about the Voyager on a seperate discussion other than this topic, people have said it a lot of times. His head is SUPPOSED to pop out like that. It's not that Hasbro screwed up or anything. If you wanna blame anyone blame the designer for "Prime" Megatron >.>...
On topic...Gotta say not interested in the other micron arms except for one...The knife O.O !!! IT LOOK SO FRICKIN AWESOME !!! Too bad that Ratchet will probably be expensive T_T...

Unlike the Hasbro versions, which are simply a devolution of their first edition predecessors,
the mini-con 'microns' and the powerlinx ports give the Takara figures a nostalgic Armada feel to them.
If Hasbro had released them this way, they would have actually gotten my money for these guys.

Targetmasters = Yes (even though not show accurate, can always use more)
Huge ass ugly ports = Hell No (especially since not show accurate)
