MADMAN PRESENTS THE FINAL CHAPTER OF TRANSFORMERS GENERATION 1

TRANSFORMERS: VICTORY completes the trilogy of Japanese exclusive Transformers series’. Originally aired in Japan in 1989, Victory follows the events of the previously released HEADMASTERS and SUPER GOD MASTERFORCE, which in turn directly continue from the original Transformers G1 cartoon!

Set in 2025 A.D., VICTORY introduces Star Saber, the mightiest Autobot warrior and greatest swordsman in the galaxy. The Decepticons continue to invade planets, so the Autobots and humans form the Space Defense Force, with Star Saber as its leader. Leading the Decepticons is Deathzaras, who has targeted Earth as the next planet to plunder.

Each Transformers set contains fan favourite special features such as character art, toy galleries, and exclusive cover artwork by the Transformers artists at IDW comics. VICTORY includes the rarely seen TRANSFORMERS: ZONE, the last ever episode of Generation 1. A MUST-HAVE for Transformers fans!

The pinnacle of the original Japanese series, VICTORY features fantastic animation and action that both Transformers and giant robot anime fans will enjoy. Now is the perfect time to discover the unique and amazing tales previously only told in Japan , a must for the army of Transformers fans looking to discover what happened next.

Just an FYI, the Victory DVD Set will be available from Wednesday the 14th of May 2008. It is region free, so will play on any DVD player anywhere in the world.

It's region-free, but it's also PAL format, so it won't play on an NTSC DVD player.

The XBOX 360 and computer DVD players should play it. Maybe even the PS3.

I have Headmasters and thought it was ok. It was still a big change from the original G1 series.

How do Masterforce and Victory fare? Are they any good? I have yet to see these.

It won't play them if you're using an NTSC Xbox or PS3. PC DVD-Roms should have no problem though either way.

This is really confusing, you CANNOT be both Region Free and PAL at the same time, PAL is a region and thus you cannot be Region Free. So, which is it?

Also, if these are Japanese only shows, how do they have English voice tracks?

Regions are done by numbers. Like US is region 1.

NTSC and PAL are video formats and sizing. NTSC is used all over North America while PAL is used in Europe and other places. NTSC is a certain video size and frame speed (I think 30 frames a second) and AL is another size and speed (I think it's 25 fps).

Region free means it'll play on any DVD player, as long as it's a PAL format player. DVD-ROMs in PCs can play both as that's what my copy of 'Last of the Mohicans' is, PAL, which won't play on my DVD player but I can watch it on my PC just fine.

I don't think there are any DVD players out there that will play both PAL and NTSC other than a computer. *shrugs* I haven't looked either way though.

All three of their Japanese G1 series (Headmasters, Super God Masterforce and Victory) are region free, as well as their complete G1 Collection.

A Fan dubbing group (Star TV?) dubbed most of the Headmasters series (and a few episodes of Masterforce) in English. It's a pretty poor effort, but hilarious to have on occasionally.

I'm not sure that there are DVD players that can play both PAL and NTSC output, but it would be logical to have them, especially seeing as it's pretty much standard that Television sets can now output both NTSC and PAL formats. Chances are that if they do exist they would be more expensive than your standard DVD players.

Many cheap DVD players have a built in converter, though you still have to region hack, and you can buy pre-changed machines that convert.
