Rumour has it that Knock Out is a retool of SS86 Jazz but the rumours have been all over the place lately with quite a few not bearing fruit.

Interesting
I wonder if it will be as tiny as the original. That thing had the award for smallest deluxe ever.
Don’t know if SS Jazz dethroned him.

TFP Knock Out is THE figure I want to replace with a much better one in the future. It is not as bad as Black Arachnia, but I transfered her head to a repainted Beast Hunter Starscream which made her awesome.
The other TFP figure I'd like replacing is Smokescreen. Otherwise, I love each of the TFP figures I own. Hasbro was at their peak of engineering, offering mostly good sized toys at a great price & quality. Those days are long gone...

Deluxe
Tarantulas
Arcee
Elita-1
Knock Out
Minerva if it is indeed happening
Voyager
Bulkhead
Inferno
Armada Starscream
the $29.99 Soundwave if it's something other than G1 Soundwave
Leader
Transmetal 2 Megatron
Blitzwing
G2 Optimus Prime if it turns out good.
If the Titan is Cybertron Metroplex, I'll reserve judgment until we actually see it before I decide.

She is happening, but apparently Nightbeat isn't (or at least he's not mainline). The current theory (based on hints from a leaker) is that Elita 1 is a pretool of Minerva and isn't a Headmaster, though whether Minerva is one is unknown.Munkky wrote:Minerva if it is indeed happening

Did we get a listing for Blitzwing, which line is he going to be in?

Is Minerva mainline?
Or would Elita be the mainline release if that mold while the two others are exclusives?

We don't have a listing, but one of the TFW leakers saw pictures of him. Can't remember what line he was in.william-james88 wrote:Did we get a listing for Blitzwing, which line is he going to be in?
Elita is mainline, Minerva is some kind of exclusive, thought to be Walgreens since one of the leakers said so before they retired from leaking. No clue on Nightbeat.william-james88 wrote:Autobot N wrote:She is happening, but apparently Nightbeat isn't (or at least he's not mainline). I believe JT put Blitzwing in Legacy when doing an update compilation (he also "accidently" revealed that the titan was Cybertron Metroplex via this list). But that may have been speculation on his part.

I can't imagine that Minerva wouldn't be a Headmaster. I anticipate she'll be a more traditional bot in the new Wreckers series, but being a Headmaster is central to her original fictional incarnation. Of course, that's less important for the other juniors like Nightbeat, but it would be really disappointing to lose that feature.

Laser Prime
Minerva

Megatron
Jhiaxus
Crankcase
Tarantulus
Core Rumble if he's blue
Maybe Drag Strip
Maybe Core Shockwave
Maybe Core Skywarp
Maybe Armada Starscream
Also whatever the Energon Monsters are; I'll have to see them first, but I'll probably end up buying them if they're anything like the Equipulator guys from WFC

Remember this is SS86, if he was blue in the movie he'll be blue in toy form.
Next year, if the mold turns out awesome, and they re-release it in legacy in blue as G1 Frenzy instead of red (with insert preferred name here), then we all riot.

Technically both were red for a split second

Yes - the TF Prime Knockout figure was a hollow, slipshod mess. But most of the figures they did at that time were.

Knockout was gappy more than he was hollow. The Car mode was insanely packed, there was pretty much no space left under there. but it was tiny... minuscule even. I think smaller than the current SS Bee.
The robot mode, extended the card mode out, causing the main torso to be nothing but a spine with a hood and side panels in front of it.

That's a good question! I'm really not sure, maybe it folds out into some kind of base mode?
That's kind of the issue, though: most Studio Series toys are of characters that transformed onscreen; if they don't they usually have concept art or previous toys they can draw inspiration from for the unseen mode, or are retools of another similar-looking character and keep the original's transformation (about the only exceptions I can remember are Cog, who wouldn't fit the scale, and Thundercracker, who never even showed up). But the Driller doesn't fit any of those, so how could it transform?

Press releases for the exclusives said available November 1. Not sure if that'll change or not, may have been a placeholder until they settled on a date, but it's not unusual for Hasbro to release exclusives online a week or two after an event.
Part I thought was strange about their announcement page: "US, CAN & UK Fans Only"

It'd be a very crappy move to region lock the stream...

I don't think the stream will be region locked. The areas mentioned are pulse's distribution area. I think it's legal ass covering, so that when they say "available now for preorder through pulse!*" someone from outside that area has no foot to stand on for false advertising claims.Rtron wrote:Emerje wrote:blackeyedprime wrote:Does that mean we have to wait to buy Ravage until then? :/ at least Zartan now says coming soon rather than just existing on their site with no way to buy him.

I have the ER skywarp and thundercracker pack in my stack on tfsource. And I plan to get either ER starscream or ss86 version, so I can have my 3 Seekers and a more complete roster of G1 characters
But with the Legacy line and rumors of an armada starscream coming, id imagine armada Thundercracker and skywarp are on the way as well (and perhaps even cybertron versions of the Seekers in the future). So I'm wondering if I should wait and get those or see how they look
Removing the 2-pack from my stack wouldn't take away free shipping, it'd let my wallet breathe a little more for upcoming Kingdom figures, and I care about completing the roster with my favorite versions of characters rather than complete accuracy. For example, I have HFTD Sea Spray and Fansproject not Bombshell. And I plan on getting TF Prime Ratchet and Wheeljack as my versions of those characters.
Any thoughts? Favorite versions of the Seekers?

Skywarp was a toy-only character in the UT shows though, so I'm personally not expecting him to necessarily show up as soon as we may all like since they haven't done any toy-only character updates for anything other than G1 yet. Thundercracker I have higher hopes for since he was technically in the show as Starscream's Powerlinx upgrade, but you may have to just wait and see longer to see if they even get made anytime soon.Razorbeast88 wrote:But with the Legacy line and rumors of an armada starscream coming, id imagine armada Thundercracker and skywarp are on the way as well (and perhaps even cybertron versions of the Seekers in the future). If armada versions do get released, and you like them better, resell the 2 pack to pay for it. Even with the imminent rerelease, resell value on the ER 2-pack is high enough to cover two voyagers with extra on the side, and may well be higher by the time we see the armada verions, if they even get made.
I appreciate the advice!

Considering that:
A. Hasbro seems to have no faith in anything outside G1 without testing the market for it first,
B. Hasbro still has yet to do some of the obvious assumed-to-be-coming repaints from G1, let alone other continuities, and
C. last time Hasbro released a new Armada Screamer, it only got the repaints/retools you listed because of TFCC releases and a Takara exclusive,
I personally have no faith in them being guaranteed releases, even though I want Thundercracker more than Screamer.
Also I realized my last post was technically inaccurate because I forgot Shadow Panther, Maximal Grimlock, & T-Wrecks, but realistically, Shadow Panther got made because they needed something easy to fill the slot that originally WAS going to be a show character, and Grimlock is still Grimlock and thusly will sell by name recognition alone, so they've really only taken the risk on 1 single toy-only character there.

A. Name recognition is everything and all of the repaints have recognizable names that will help sell them. If they can do Studio Series Thrust at retail with his 5 seconds of screen time anything will sell.
B. Which ones? There's very little they haven't done or hasn't been leaked. We even got repaints we didn't expect like a blue Deep Cover and black Ironhide repaint. Plus it isn't like we don't have more repaints planned for Legacy.
C. All of the repaints of Siege and Earthrise Starscream have only existed as exclusives too (aside from Siege Thundercracker). I would be surprised if any Legacy Armada Starscream repaint wasn't an exclusive as well. When was the last time a Starscream was released that didn't have the majority of its releases sold at mass retail? Classics (eventually)? And they could even do them in two releases, stick Thundercracker and Skywarp on Amazon and Ramjet on Target so Canada can sell him at TRU and go full circle (original Armada Ramjet was a Universe release exclusive to TRU).

That 2 pack go for a premium on Ebay. Plus having the ORIGINAL Seeker trio is always nice to have. So I say buy that 2 pack ASAP to be sure you have it, then get SS86 "leader" Starscream later. Having (temporary) Emperor Starscream flanked by his two cronies will make for a pretty swell display.
Armada Starscream may be coming, but Armada Skywarp never existed in the show and "Thundercracker" is just "Upgraded" Starscream. Plus I bet those colors will be some exclusives or others. That is, IF they get made.
If you want at least ONE complete Seeker trio, go with what you know for sure exist and already have in hand. Don't pass on these because that's literally your LAST chance. Remove the ER Seeker 2 pack from your stack and it will be GONE in 2 seconds after. You will not be able to get it back at retail price.
The maybe Armada trio (if there is a trio) can be for when it is time. Letting go of a highly sought after Seeker trio you already have in hand would be quite dumb.
I'm glad I never let these slipped by my fingers!

PSA for anyone (in the US at least) who missed out on the ER Thundercracker/Skywarp set. DO NOT pay the eBay prices! I repeat DO NOT pay the eBay prices!!!
Entertainment Earth has them on pre-order for normal retail due in November.

Thats what I'd been thinking as well, it'd be a little strange to only release starscream from a new seeker mold
Though I suppose if I get the ER seeker trio, depending on the paintjob of Armada Starscream I could pass him off as Redwing

Just my opinion; the Cornonation version isn’t worth $54-ish.
Especially if you have no want/need for the throne.
Even more so if you don’t really want the coronation gear.
Imo this is a perfect example of how Hastak (or an company) lures in fans and collectors;
Those people often times (myself included) find themselves very enticed by something just because it’s new.
And sometimes that appeal overrides at least some logic.
While none of this stuff is anywhere close to a NEED,
I’ve become better at reminding myself, “May look cool, but in the grand scheme ______ should be a pass.
Save that $$ for something you would really enjoy having.

ER Starscream is now only available on the secondary market for around the same price as (or more expensive than) the upcoming leader if you factor in the inevitable shipping cost.
So unless one is lucky enough to land a ER voyager Starscream at normal retail price, might as well go with the SS86 leader.
