It will be a TRUE "yay" if they release the original characters from the G1 Action Master line in R.E.D.

I know it's early, but based on appearance alone, I'm looking forward to more of these!

Not even. At least all action masters came with some transforming element. They are part of the brand's legacy and added to it with new characters and a different playability. These are just action figures featuring Transformers characters.

Why did you feel the need to single Sowndwave76 like that? Everyone is allowed to collect how they want, there is no set standard.
Pull your head in. Your attitude lately has been poor.

Because with 33-50% of the thread boiling down to "Who are these even made for?"/"Why are they even doing these" I wanted to point to a specific example of someone who is quite happy with figures like this.Burn wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:They're aimed at collectors like Sowndwave76 who despite being Transformers fans don't give a toss about their toys transforming.

You're right, they are.. and I worded that post very badly, it was not supposed to sound hostile. Ugh...Burn wrote:Everyone is allowed to collect how they want, there is no set standard.
No argument from me there...Burn wrote:Pull your head in. Your attitude lately has been poor.

Oh, my bad... Wish they could figure out how to come up with something like a label that said, "Coming soon"...
Also, any guesses on the Prime redeco?
Nemesis?
"Death of..." (which would seem pointless to have posable dead Prime)?
Battle-damaged?

I'm not even the biggest fan of him, but this is where we could get a great version of Blitzwing.
And I know this might drive some people crazy, but I'd love a set of all of the Constructicons.
They are such classic characters.

Knock out and arcee will likely be my buys from the line, I never picked up that many prime figures with animated not having the full run of figures/exclusives/japanese/first release headaches of trying to complete.just hoping for some scaling in the figures rather than them all being the same size.
Good scaling is a really valid point... Not to mention, why not, and then give us something like a two-pack of Rumble and Ravage. Or heck, make a two pack of Bumblebee and Cliffjumper priced at $30.
Wishful thinking with 2 packs, but if these are supposed to be really show accurate, then they can't make Bee as tall as Prime, Megatron, and Soundwave... Unfortunately, he could still cost $20. Which bothers me no matter how many extras he comes with.

A set of six combining Transformers who not only can't transform but also can't combine? Sure, that'll sell well.Sowndwave76 wrote:And I know this might drive some people crazy, but I'd love a set of all of the Constructicons.

I'd rather have the full team with the missing members, all transformable.
Still, I'd be down for RED Animated figures. Sari Sumdak being top priority. "Robot", teen, and child versions in a 3 pack.

Seriously, the original line of Prime figures need a reissue to atone for the non-existent distribution. All I can find are $100 first editions or ugly ass "Beast Hunters" remakes.

Fair, but a whole lot of these G1 characters didn't have a ton of personality. "Iconic"?
Very very few would ever fit this descriptor, even relative to a kid's cartoon.
Devastator himself didn't add some multi-faceted emotional spectrum to TF's, and yet he'll always be one of the most popular combiners.
Do people really think these toys are collected based more on personality than appearance???
Hmmm...
So agree to disagree, but I'm not using the label of "classic" based on depth of character.
Whether you (meaning anyone) are in favor of non-transforming figures or not, it's also not completely ridiculous in the grand scheme to think they'd eventually give one figure to each of these 6 characters. Whether in multi-packs, as exclusives, etc.
I mean seriously... This idea is that outrageous compared to some of the other obscure and wishful-thinking wants of some collectors?? Pshhhh. That's laughable.
Kinda reminds me of the time someone seriously went off about "how dumb I was" for thinking they'd ever make the Classics seekers as regular releases after the BotCon set... And yet within that next year or so..........
This isn't to suggest I really think Constructicon R.E.D. figures are coming. But to put it out there as an idea isn't completely irrational either.
The R.E.D. line exists... Someone with some sort of business savvy thinks it's a good idea, with making money the bottom line.
Not to mention, these aren't just statues, or even figures like in the ReAction line that have articulation made for 4 year olds, are 2"+ shorter, only $2 cheaper, and look 10x worse.
If these are that off-putting to you, cool, bros.
Good for you for saving money for all of those awesome transforming figures.

ZeroWolf wrote:The only way they'll get figures of their own (I think it's more likely we'll see a Devastator in RED then individual constructicons) is if the line does well enough to warrant their inclusion. Basically just vote with your wallet
Agreed. Unfortunately I also only see Devastator happening if the line does really well. But who knows, if Hastak thinks it'll make money, an exclusive could be possible.
Here's my fear; I think the R.E.D. line is the wrong line to expand into BW, Prime etc....
I want as many fans as possible to get what they want, but I don't feel overly confident that G1 characters are going to sell that well.
And I see BW and Prime characters being peg/shelf warmers, making the chances of the line going very deep for any series less likely.

Speaking of transforming, Hasbro does write on the boxes that these are "non converting" figures and hopefully that is enough to avoid confusion from parents and the like. You can see all the images below.

I really dont want this to become a line giving us transformers toys that we wanted for a long time since the point all along was we assumed they would transform. Or else this will just become the garbage placeholder line.

I'd say so. Both Will and i agree that Prime Hardshell still deserves a proper large transforming figure.
