Following the recent news stories about Transformers merchandise leading up to the movie and its aftermath on the toy market, here's an addition coming to us from an Amazon.com listing: a Transformers Battlemasters Fight Net Battle Set, 2-Pack. The item appears to be a set of 'Rock Em Sock Em Robots' styled toys with vaguely recognisable features, on Optimus at least, while his purple opponent Megatron, is more akin to his Calvin Johson counterpart. Yea, or red and blue Gutsman vs purple Bulkhead.

Although, Megatron's torso does kinda remind me of the FOC body.

A purple Megatron? Yessss.

I can't help but think this was repurposed from an unrelated fighting robot toy. Like it started out being a semi-original thing, but Hasbro decided "hey we already have a robit franchise, let's make this that too" late in the game.

I don't see this ever expanding past the one set, but I'd like to see other bots' goofy nicknames.
