Fame has been named.
Though many names were mentioned and, by all means deserve the coveted induction, only one can claim the title of Hall of Famer. Your winner, Seibertronians, is WASPINATOR.

Check out seibertron.com's galleries of Waspinator by clicking here.
Don't forget to repeatedly chant "Wazzzzzzzpinator" while doing so.

Voted for him like 10 times.

Same here.
Just because us Waspy voters weren't making such a big fuss doesn't at all mean we weren't voting.

This is really gonna stink when they 86 the HOF in another year or two when the movie hype dies down and we look back and see just WHO got in.

And, just for reference, yes, I am someone who grew up with the original G1 cast.
That said... it's just for fun, guys. Grimlock, Jazz, Shockwave... they get lots of love already with multiple toys and homages. Let's not take things too seriously.

I believe it was an insult.
G1 guys, you must realize that your part of Transformers was only the first 5 years of a 25 year franchise. There are large amounts of Beast Wars fans, tons of Armada fans, a whole load of Animated fans, and even some Energon fans (for reasons I don't know but to each his own). Don't dismiss us as a small portion of your peers. G1 doesn't mean that much to a lot of Transformers fans. You are part of a large and diverse community. You are going to have to share.

It was pretty damn close to his wording.
And despite the good words and phrases, I'm pretty damn sure that the Erector Campaign was an attempt to troll the fandom and Hasbro. It failed, we got a decent chuckle, let's move on.

While I can't disagree with you, I do think some of the more iconic G1 characters should get in first. Keep in mind those G1 characters that only occupied that small space in time are still showcased in the comics, the movies, and their updated characters sell like hot cakes.

Good point El Duque. A lot of the characters in G1 came from the toy tech specs, which were a ton of G1 that made its way across a lot of the following series.

Yeah, but you don't think Hasbro won't inevitably put Grimlock, Jazz and Shockwave in? The only non-G1 characters in the HoF so far are the ones voted in by fans. Hasbro will get to Grimlock, Shockwave and jazz (At least one of them will make it in Hasbro's pick next year. I'd put money on it). Lets think outside of the box. There are a lot of characters that deserve as much recognition as G1 characters. Waspinator, and last years Dinobot are both examples of these. They are both highly memorable and beloved characters from Beast Wars and we simply wish to raise them to the level we think they deserve, like you wish for the G1 characters to do the same.

The reason I feel this way is because Michael Bay doesn't appear to be a Transformers enthusiast like us, or the guys who voiced lots of the characters we loved. To me, hes just another big hollywood money lover who saw a new franchise to take advantage of. Did good come out of it? sure, but it IS Transformers, don't give him all the credit for it being awesome.
(Yet again, I understand how things work on that higher up level, and I shouldn't have expected things to be different, just saying)

Let me go over how much of this is wrong. Ironhide, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and even Soundwave are in the movies. You cannot tell me that Ironhide and Ratchet two redecos from Generation 1 were chosen for their G1 namesakes? Please. It is because they are 'main' characters in a big live action movie (where they are not redecos). I am very cynical with this Hall of Fame and even more cynical with the 'Beast Wars is the best crowd suck it GEEWUNERS.' Grimlock would of been a uniquely G1 guy in the Hall of Fame (I voted from Grimlock). Grimlock is also in all the extra Beast Wars material. Also note, that Beast Wars IS in Generation 1 just as Generation 2 is in Generation 1. Since Beast Wars guys like to circle the wagons just as much as Victory guys like to circle the wagons, next time I say we all vote for Ginrai. At least then, we will get someone with personality.

Yeah but let's be serious here. The Hall of Fame isn't to be taken seriously.
There's a lot of iconic characters to all the fans, but we're not all going to agree. I'd love for Stalker to be in the Hall of Fame because of how you can't browse E-Bay Australia without finding him. The guy is everywhere but the Hall of Fame!
But people won't agree with that because at the end of the day, "Who's Stalker?".
At the end of the day, only a few make it in each year, and there's 25 years of characters to choose from. If people are upset that their favourite character isn't in this year, then there's always next year.
And seriously people, get the hell over the Bay thing. He's done more for TF's than most of you "haters" have.

Nightbeat, Bludgeon, Thunderwing, Unicron (well I guess this can play for those Unicron Trilogy guys), Galvatron, Ultra Magnus, Grimlock, Straxus, Shockwave (his Marvel incarnation), and Ginrai all have more personality in their pinky actuator than most of the Beast Wars cast. Granted I did agree with Dinobot last year. The push for all the Beast Wars guys for Waspinator is just too far.

Most of these Beast Wars guys ignore the vast amounts of character in Generation 1 only to tout their guys who are just derivatives of Generation 1 guys. Same is true with Armada, Animated, Prime, ext (I do like Animated and Prime do not get me wrong). Do Beast Wars guys realize they are secretly G1 guys too? We will never know.

Sorry, is my opinion not allowed to be shared on this forum? Plus I completely disagree, He just had the idea and decided to pursue it (It's like awarding Bill Gates for allowing messenger to work on xbox live). I'd first give credit to the concept artists, CG animators and modellers and the entire crew of the special effects team before I give HIM credit. You get the hell over people having varying opinions.

Slight difference.
Now how about some love for Don Murphy? Without him no one would have even shopped the movies around!

Understand, I grew up on the toys and cartoons, I never read the comics really until IDW got involved. I don't associate all the character development of the comics with the characters like a lot of our older members do. I just have the cartoons to go off of. Let's be honest, the original 80s cartoon didn't really flesh out it's characters much.
I like Jazz. I remember him as being the token "black" transformer who could use music as a weapon.
I like Grimlock, just as I like all the Dinobots, but my memories of him are predominantly along the lines of "Me Grimlock am dumb."
Shockwave? From watching the cartoons, you get the sense that he is the most robotic of the transformers, with the most inaccessable personality. Plus, let's not forget how the Combaticons made him their bitch for a while.
I'm not even going to mention Erector.
Now... Waspinator. Waspinator started humbly, your average "henchbot," but as Beast Wars progressed, he became something of a comic relief. I remember eagerly watching to see how he'd get crushed or dismantled or blown to pieces in each episode. I laughed hysterically as he fought Rattrap and got kicked in his "nuts and bolt" repeatedly. I'd grin or smirk every time he got crushed, sliced to ribbons or just generally pwned. And he always managed to put himself back together some how.
"Why whole universe hate Waspinator?"
Waspinator knew his role. He took everything that was thrown at him and kept coming back for more, and in the end? When he finally has had enough, and finally stands up for himself? He gets blown to scrap, business as usual.
I understand why you geewunners are agitated over your favorites not making it in this year, truly I do, but DO NOT dismiss Waspinator's induction simply as the Beast Wars fans ganging up on you or the contest being rigged by Hasbro. Waspinator is a memorable and unique character in his own right, every bit as deserving of this honor as the other nominees. Excluding Erector of course.

Tottaly agreed, I'm sad some G1 bots didn't make it too, but Waspinator is fun enough to have in the HOF. I've been watching Beast Wars over lately, and I gota say my attention is on the most whenever Waspinator (and Dinobot) is on-screen.

Currently I'm a collector, I grew up on G1 (born in 79) as many of you did, and I voted for Waspinator because Beast Wars was my favorite TF series due to the story telling and excellent character development, something most other TF series lack (and it's arguable that the movies do as well, at least in my opinion).
I don't hate G1, I love it, and I have a massive G1/Universe/Henkei/Generations/RTS/United/Masterpiece collection to prove it, but for me, the Beast Wars resurrected my interest in the Transformers and took the story of Generation 1 to a whole new level.
Besides that, the reason I voted for Waspy is because I feel that Beast Wars is going to be forgotten by Hasbro and Takara if the fans don't remind them that it still has a pretty big following. It's the 15th anniversary this year and all we have are some RTS toys and the movie stuff, which is fine and perfectly understandable, but after the movie we'll have TF Prime (which is a far better show than I was expecting) and whatever form RTS/Generations takes next (I do expect HasTak to continue with such a line, it sells way too well for them not to). BW got 10th anniversary repaints etc. in 2005, but there's plenty of characters that never got enough love in my opinion with regards to the toys and I'd like to see Hasbro give them their due before they have been allowed to forget that Beast Wars ever existed (which they may be doing anyway with their new "unified" continuity that they're embracing, which doesn't appear to even include Beast Wars at all, though it does embrace certain concepts from it such as Sparks, the AllSpark etc.).
G1 is obviously what started it all, and without those characters, Beast Wars would never have existed, and even if it did, it wouldn't have been as good without it (Season 2=win because of all the G1 references/plot integration) but in my opinion, Beast Wars is just too good to be forgotten.
Besides, how can you not vote for a character that is essentially the Kenny McCormick of Transformers (I don't seem to remember anyone even remotely similar to him in G1, and I've watched the entire series more than once because I own it

Anyway, I hope my first post (the above novel, sorry about that

Yea, your right about the lack of good beast wars figures that have been updated... I really want a good Dinobot figure that isn't lame in beast mode. I also want cybertronian versions of pretty much all the figures without paying an insane amount for repaints with new heads. I love the fact that comics include Rattrap as a shifty informations dealer back on cybertron.

Agreed, in fact, I'm working on my own now. I'm surprised at how many movieverse figures fit the bill. I've got TomaHawk repainted as pre-Beast Waspinator and he looks great, I simply swapped the head on SkyHammer to make him Optimus Primal (I used the head from Takara's Telemocha Optimus Primal) and I'm repainting Terradive as Terrorsaur.I also want cybertronian versions of pretty much all the figures without paying an insane amount for repaints with new heads.
I bought a ton of other movie toys to do the same with possibly, depending on how they look in-hand. One issue is that if you actually look at most of the few glimpses we get of their pre-Beast forms in the show, it looks like they don't transform at all, as though they only gain transformation capabilities after going to another world in order to blend in (copying either indigenous technology or wildlife), which kinda makes sense, but aside from Action Masters, there aren't too many TF's that don't transform. I might share some pics of my customs eventually if I ever get a camera
