Seems like some crazy stuff is going to be happening within the fiction for Galvatron. And don't forget to tell us what you think of it in the comments below.

There's no plug there. The comic uses Cybertron' Japanese name, "Seibertron" (セイバートロン Seibātoron).Nemesis Maximo wrote:Nice job, Karyuudo! I like how you shamelessly plugged in Seibertron. That gave me a checkle.

Quoted for truth.
Sent my brother a picture of Devastator and he sounded pretty unimpressed and asked me if I'd got it down out of mum's loft.
Considering CW Devvy is 3 times the size, and not only did we never have Mix Master to complete the set, but we had the euro G1 yellow non-combining variants. Didn't even have a full devastator.
It was a real eye opener of just how much those rose tinted nostalgia goggles influence your memory.

My goodness what a great toy! I love how he feels like a TOY, and not some over complicated high end collectible. Because that's really what I collect.
He feels like a toy, but sacrifices nothing. I knew he was big, but was still amazed at his size once I got him combined. I'm really happy how this guy turned out from vehicle, to bots, to combined. From all the photos we had seen, I wasn't sure I was going to like the green color, but with my own eyes, it's perfect.
This set is nothing short of MAGNIFICENT!!!!

Seibertron is the Japanese name of the Transformers planet (what we call Cybertron), while Cybertron is their name for the Autobot faction. This site's name is derived from that, not vice-versa.

Anyway, great comic now that it's translated! Unicron, ever the cautious one. Galvatron, ever the traitorous (to Unicron). Starscream, ever the Starscream. Fun little story, I wonder if there will be more.

Like when he says "Seibertron" instead of "Cybertron". It's an amazingly well done translation nonetheless. I know the Japanese says "Seibertron" but I'd put it as Cybertron to limit confusion for moderate fans.

That would actually lead to more confusion as "Cybertron" could mean either the Autobots, or the planet itself. Plus, proper nouns are usually left as is, as replaced names are a manga fan's pet peeve.

Seems like Takara is trying to keep the numbers balanced for both sides, and we have 3 Autobot and 3 Decepticon combiners (Even though Devastator is much larger than any of the others). All of the Odd-numbered Unite Warrior Sets have been Autobots, and the Even-numbered have been Decepticons. But with Bruticus next on the horizon, is Takara going to wedge in another Autobot Combiner to be UW-07 while Bruticus is UW-08?
Maybe UW-07 will be some repaint of Victorion? Or something with the Sky Reign molds?

i'm thinking they'll do Computron to "counter" Bruticus. and then Sky Lynx'll probly get tossed into Legends or Adventure.
or.......
Takara does make Sky Reign, and his "counterpart" is Liokaiser

Hmm, maybe, but I think making 2/3 of two combiners by themselves is at lot to ask. They're also going to want to move on to Titans Return to get some smaller toys on their shelves with RiD/Adventure closing down (plus, the 30th for Headmasters is coming up).
On the other hand, if pre-tooled heads for the characters are floating around, the I think both TT and Hasbro will release them down the line.

Yeah, or at least they could. Man I would just LOVe ot see all the extra heads they have. We already knew they had Starscream planned and we got a hint at Demolishor (which they confirmed they will not be using) so there must be more (that was also confirmed actually). I would realy like ot see all the stuff designed already just to get a taste at the possibility.

UW07-Victorian (the larger size of this one will even out Devastator)
UW08-Bruticus
UW09-Sky Reign
UW10-(???) perhaps a new Decepticon combiner which makes use of the Grand Scourge Torso
UW11-Computron
UW12-Another new Decepticon Combiner made of various repaints?
Of course they could just release Computron and Bruticus as UW 07 & 08, and avoid the others. But the Convoy & Galvatron combiners show they are willing to use Torsos of new characters, even if they aren't original G1.

Victorion is the same size as the other normal combiners, she just has unique foot and hand pieces. She is a retool of Hot Spot, Dead End, Breakdown,(Legends Class) Groove, and Alpha Bravo (twice).

I like the thought of two new decepticon combiners and I can honestly see everything you mentioned happening, with the exception of grand scourge since he is unite warriors version of combiner wars cyclonus meaning he can use any limbs.

I agreed on Grand Scourge. He's just a one off torso from eHobby. He'll get no mass retail release or team of limbs. If you want a team for him that matches his only fictional appearance (not counting the Energon/Superlink comic), then you can get an extra set of Stunticons.
william-james88 wrote:Pretty sure takara will use that skylynx torso for liokaiser
Do you think Takara will also do their own version of Sky Reign too, or do you think they'll just go "one and done" with a Liokaiser redeco/retool?

So far, I've had all of the Hasbro Combiner Wars versions of the combiners along with Unite Warriors Superion and Menasor. A lot of people seem to be swearing off the Unite Warriors versions based on a perception blandness from a lack of extra paint apps due to being more "cartoon accurate." It's simply not true. CW and UW Superion are pretty equivocal with the only distinctions being color choices for some plastics (combiner hands/feet, Silverbolt, etc.) and the layout of the decos (UW is more cartoon accurate; CW more toy accurate). UW Menasor looks fantastic. While lacking some of the toy details that Hasbro included, like Dead End's stripe or the copious extra maroon on Dragstrip, the paint jobs are far from bland. Yes, Dragstrip is mostly yellow, like in the cartoon, but he is cast and painted in two different shades of yellow. When you have him in hand, you see it. It works very well. The details in robot mode for most of the Stunticons aren't lacking either, just sort of "remixed" to match that cartoon better. I know a LOT of people are especially bummed by Defensor, especially with the painted detail on torso mode Hot Spot being left bare in United Warriors, but the shade of blue he is cast in is so much better. Hasbro's Hot Spot looks anemic by comparison. Don't be fooled by the pictures online, these toys look great in hand in normal lighting conditions and without "Photoshop touch-ups". Even if certain details aren't painted, the molding on these figures is good enough that when viewed in person with normal light and shadowing, the details still effectively "pop". Think twice before swearing off the Unite Warriors versions and ask yourself if your armchair opinions aren't at least a little bit influenced by monetary concerns and/or cognitive dissonance.

Unite warriors and combiner wars ( with Devy being an exception) are of the same quality, they just sport different decos.

Unite Warriors Devastator is the best version, hands down. Each robot is more articulated, and has his own classic G1 styled gun. Devastator himself has a modifiable head sculpt that can pull of either his individual eyes look or the visor look from the cartoon. The paint isn't lacking compared to the retail Hasbro release. Again, it's more of a "remix" for screen accuracy, especially in combined mode. If you like more "bling," you have the SDCC version, with all the same missing features of the regular Hasbro release but with a different head sculpt.
Superion I think is the most equivocal, as I said earlier. You can't really go wrong if you can get Hasbro's limited release "Quickslinger" release or spring for the Takara set.
The biggest draw of United Warriors Menasor is a correctly colored Motormaster. The Hasbro versions mostly gray color scheme is neither G1 screen nor G1 toy accurate. As a bonus, with Takara, you're guaranteed to get the version of the Motormaster mold with the fixed hip ratchets for the best stability for Menasor in combined mode.
Similarly, Unite Warriors Defensor is the only way (as of this time) to get a truly "Classic G1" team with Groove as a full-sized limb instead of an accessory with the Combiner Wars version.

I doubt Victorion is #7; hasbro hasn't even released her, and there is usually a ~6 month interim between the cw release and uw release
