UPDATE: Even More Pictures of Universe Cheetor and Cyclonus

Now that's a nice colour for Cyclonus. Cheetor's eye changing thing is neat, but not neat enough for me to pick him up.

I'm happy that they redid Cyclonus. He's one of my favorite characters from the olden days of yore.

Cyclonus is very nice! Can't wait 'til I find him and the Target exclusive two-packs!

Cyclonus does not look as unbearably horrible as he did last time. Still not too great.

Cyclonus looks cool, but I don't see the improvements some have referred to. It looks the same as all the other pics I've seen, and still doesn't look as good as those photoshopped images Hasbro first showed.

As for Cheetor, I still don't see the appeal. To me, the figure looks awkward in both alt and bot mode. I never liked beastie TFs where the transformation is basically just the animal standing on its hind legs, with a robot head instead of an animal head. And using your own tail as a weapon? I think I would die laughing if I were a robot with giant guns and my opponent was wielding a furry tail.

for some reason i don't like universe cheetor at all don't know why seems like they've just made a skinnier version of him and done something to his head

i just did a comaprison between the 2 cheetors the original and universe class universe version looks more realistc looking, the original lookes like a lion with spots.

but what ever one deicdes to come out first i will get cheetor, dinobot, or Leo Prime one of these figure will be my first beats wars figures which one i will get will help me decide if i want to get the other beats wars repaints in the univese series.

I was referring to this. First, his Target-Master there is now painted purple. And when you directly compare these photos the colors blend better on the new ones, where as they’re more uneven on the older ones.

Is there pics up somewhere of the Henkei version? I love this mould, but would prefer a more cartoon-accurate colour scheme. I am surprised that changing the colours on nightstick didn't mean that some of the colours on Cyclonus changed too, I guess Nightstick must have moulds of its own.

Only complaint I've got is: why doesn't Cyclonus have holes in both hands? As a left-hander, I can only assume I'm being discriminated against.

It is odd not to have post-holes in both fists. Didn't the old movie poster show Ultra Magnus, RC and Kup as left handers?

Since when is Nightstick a mini-con? If I understand things right, this is an update of Targetmaster Cyclonus, and if that's true Nightstick is the Nebulan partnered with Cyclonus.

Here is the bottom line. Cyclonus is my favorite character, the new version of him sux just like the G 1 version does. Jizai toys makes the best version of him although it is pricey. People quit foolin yourself this cyclonus is hot garbage, just say you are happy that they made an updated figure!

Ooh, good to find an owner of the Jizai Cyclonus. How is it? I've always heard that they're fine as display pieces but suck as toys. Is that true?

Oh, and how does Universe Cyclonus "sux"?

I think the new Cyclonus mold is excellent but Hasbro's choice of colors makes it appear like a 3rd rate bootleg.
Even if Takara turn the chrome up to 11 on the Henkei version it'll at least look like they put some effort into it.
As for Cheetor,the best I can say about it is that I'll be saving money by not getting it.

Hasbro's colour scheme is pretty loyal to the G1 toy, in general Takara tries to follow the colour schemes used in the cartoon instead, so hopefully we will see a much more purple Cyclonus from them, albeit with random chrome.

I can't wait to get my hands on 25th anniversary cheetor and cyclonus.

Leo Prime is a remold of Cybertron Leobreaker (which I was disappointed in, but may be in the minority on that account), and his paint scheme doesn't suggest any connection to Beast Wars Lio Convoy. In fact, its sure looks like it's supposed to be G1 Prime as a Lion.

In other words, don't let your first Beast Wars figure be "Leo Prime". If you can, get Beast Wars Rampage.

I'm happy they made an updated figure. The problem is it doesn't suck. Aside from the head mold in this particular pic (which I'm still pretty much WTF about), I actually like this figure. Besides that, I'm getting a Targetmaster. Although I probably say it way to often, I wanna see Headmaster/Targetmaster figures. Don't care if they're reissues like the Collection 20 Kup I only need to lift my head a little bit to look at or new molds like this Cyclonus.

Edit: Think that might actually be Nightstick...which'd explain that fraking head and leave me feeling really fraking stupid while I'm at it.

As I've been able to discern, I don't think he has holes in either hand. I think the targetmaster clips onto the hand.

Additionally, Nightstick can also peg into his thruster, if you rotate the fist back in as if in Jet mode.

IIRC, Peaugh posted on TFW that the connector on the thruster is present on both sides, so Cyclonus can use Nightstick left-handed. Well, left-armed, seeing as his hand won't be involved.

I own a JT Cyclonus. And while it's interesting it's far from perfect. It's a snap together model kit for starters. You have to be pretty decent at models to put it together so it doesn't look half assed.

It's also incredibly flimsy. Same with Wheelie. Don't get me wrong, I fully support all that Jazai Toyz puts out and when I can get my hands on Powerglide and Octane I will. But in direct comparison the official product is way better.

Plus I fiddled around with the new Cyclonus about a week ago and it's just awesome.

I gotta say - this mould is awesome. I just hope the final product gets a good paint job.

Nightstick is looking excellent now, but I don't see much improvement with Cyclonus besides the nosecone is now painted.

If Cyclonus ends up looking similar to the original official pics, he will definitely be in my top 3 favourites from the classics/universe line. Maybe even number one.

Down_Shift, that pretty much compares with what I'd always heard. If I had the money, I'd probably buy them, but I just can't justify it on my budget. Especially as I like to play with my toys.

I wonder if robots1 will deign to explain why Universe Cyclonus "sux"? I do get annoyed with people who offer that sort of lame comment without any explanation.

I agree. Saying he "sux" and describing him as...what was it? "Hot garbage"? Anyway, saying these things doesn't actually explain anything about why you feel that way.
