Probably because Dinobots are not Beast Wars.

Also the fact that we just had exclusives of redecos of toys into g1 dinobots

Not like Tarantulus, right? We'd never get a single character redeco'ed twice in a little more than a year, and certainly not from the same Club, right? Nah, no way. Redecos are ALWAYS well spaced out so we don't get two versions of the same character forced on us in a short time frame.

I was complimenting you!

I entirely agree with what you said. As with many aspects of the franchise, bar comics so far, the different branches don't seem to really talk to each other or keep each other on the radar in terms of releases, output and the such.

The Club is particularly guilty of that, but I have a feeling it may be down to Hasbro ultimately.

Those are decent figures. I'm not so keen on that way too over-the-top G1 colour homage of that particular set but they are all good looking molds in both dino and robot mode. Particularly fond of AoE Voyager Grimlock.

And nope I've never had any desire for the G1 Dinobots to combine in any way even years before that awful Beast comic which IS something most people would want to put out of their minds and never ever be reminded of again.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! :)

Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

Well then, apologies.

As for Hasbro, they're on the hook for the SDCC exclusives, like the Dinobots, but has nothing to do with the Club's doubling up on Tarantulus twice in a year. But truthfully, I think it's just "bad timing."
Tarantulus as a part of the theme of the 2016 boxset makes perfect sense, and I am sure they could switch him out with someone else, although I can't think of anyone offhand. As far as the TFSS Tarantulus goes, I can totally understand why the Club went that route, and that figure makes sense as well, and is Tarantulus-topical with the Microns and stuff. The 'issue' is that they are/were released so quickly, one after the other.
Both good, perfectly understandable ideas, but just too soon. As much as it may have seemed like my previous comment was anti-TFCC, it wasn't my intention. I think Botcon Tarantulus might be the figure that the Club was hoping no one would notice just got a different figure. "Tarantulus hasn't had a toy in what, 17 years? No one will notice two in the same year, right?"

I had that same thought. But then I was thinking...

1.Predacus is a Botcon exclusive,
2.Who would the 6th member be?

They could probably use one of the Legends Insecticon molds to make a 6th member, but there really wasn't anyone else in BW (that I can recall), who was associated with the Tripredacus counsel. Not to say they couldn't make something up, but I think it is pretty good as is.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

The Attendee Figure that comes as a bonus with the Primus Package has a new head sculpt.

So it's: 1) Ravage, 2) Tarantulas, 3) Ramhorn, 4) Seaclamp, 5) Predacus, 6) Attendee Figure.

I would be down with the exclusives combining into Magnaboss. Makes sense. And Dinobots were not Beast Wars, whereas these are, and I like the movie dinobots. They are my only complete set (and I have all 7) and they are awesome. Bit difficult at points, but I love them :BOT:

Re-posting these from the other BotCon thread.

Some interesting Tweets from the BotCon Twitter:

To clarify on the Golden Ticket figure. It's more than just a minor paint change. The GT Legends figure is cast in different color plastic.

Also, the figure does not tie in to the Convention set theme directly, but it does tie in to the continuity the set takes place in.

Note, the set doesn't take place in the Beast Wars Uprising Universe. Where it DOES take place is quite exciting! Announcement on that soon!

No, the GT toy is NOT a Beast Wars character. It uses the troop builder mold & is tied to a familiar G1 character.

The class kit figure is ALSO not a Beast Wars character. It is a Generation 1 character.

No. But it IS a 1984/1985 Generation 1 character. You definitely should add the class/class kit to ur registration.

These Tweets confirm that the troop builder set uses a Legends mold, so now we have:

5 CW molds in the boxed set

1 CW mold as the attendee freebie with a brand new headsculpt

1 CW mold as the custom class figure with an "an alternative head sculpt that is not available at retail", and which is not a BW character but a 1984/1985 G1 character

1 CW Legends class mold as the troop builder souvenir set, which will have an alternate version of itself included with the Golden Ticket package, and the GT version is also not a BW character but is related to a familiar G1 character

1 non-CW "centerpiece" souvenir figure

1 CW mold souvenir figure

1 non-CW mold souvenir figure

Plus, one of the souvenir figures will feature a headsculpt that has not been released in the U.S. before.

So the custom class is probably a seeker, that's cool too bad I don't know how to customize. Also a little disappointed in the troop builder being a cw legends mold instead of a deluxe. I was hoping to get some extra limbs for one of my spare torsos.

BotCon Twitter made some more Tweets. Of the 9 CW molds used, 7 are Deluxes, 1 is a Voyager, and 1 is a Legends.

So the new rundown is as follows:

5 CW molds in the boxed set, four Deluxes and the 1 Voyager

1 CW Deluxe attendee figure with a new headsculpt

1 CW Deluxe custom class figure with an "alternative" headsculpt, and who is a 1984-1985 G1 character rather than a BW character

1 CW Legends as the troop builder set, and as the GT figure who is a non-BW character related to a familiar G1 character

1 CW Deluxe souvenir figure

1 non-CW mold "centerpiece" souvenir figure

1 non-CW mold other souvenir figure

And one of the souvenirs (not the centerpiece?) has a non-U.S. headsculpt.

This would be the one expected to be Terrorsaur.

If it's an alternative head sculpt and not a new one plus the mention of one figure having a non-US head sculpt then I'm going out on a limb and saying Grand Galvatron Ghost Starscream mold. It hits all the right points and it does sort of fit with the BW theme, too.

1 CW Legends as the troop builder set, and as the GT figure who is a non-BW character related to a familiar G1 character

Only thing that comes to mind are the car drones from Devastation out of Blackjack and maybe a proper all black drone for Menasor as the GT bonus.

1 CW Deluxe souvenir figure

1 non-CW mold "centerpiece" souvenir figure

1 non-CW mold other souvenir figure

Not a lot of information to really speculate on these three except to say that this has been a very Decepticon heavy BotCon so far. The "centerpiece" will likely at least be a Voyager figure. Can't think of anything recent that would make for an exciting enough centerpiece without being a CW figure. Aside from this anyway.

Both the attendee figure and custom figure are Deluxes. CW Groove is a Legends mold.

If you meant the UW Groove mold, the notion that the custom figure has an "alternative" headsculpt implies that it's not a "brand new" head but a pretooled head that already exists for the mold, and since UW Groove was Takara's baby instead of Hasbro's, it isn't likely that the mold has a pretooled head since it's Hasbro, rather than Takara, who's all about planning for pretooled heads nowadays.
