I'm curious to know if collectors have been usually 1 sided or both Autobot and Decepticon.
I've usually been Primes or Autobots- very few Decepticons- and that's because the Cons don't have a very flexible color scheme: they're always the same colors.
This year, however, with 3rd party figures and the classics line, I went Decepticon crazy! I had to dedicate one of my display case shelves to JUST the Decepticons.
Once I bought Hegemon I knew: I HAVE to get some minions. This guy can't be displayed alone- and it went from there.
What's usually been your collecting style/trend/pattern?

I usually try to keep them even, especially Primes and Megatrons. Right now, I have a few more Bots than Cons.

I would say it's pretty even, but if I do I lean towards more cons

I think the reason I've always been Bots is because the Cons always lose- and naturally I stayed with the winning team.
But this year I finally looked at my shelf like: I don't have ANY Cons. Who are these guys gonnna fight?
So I fixed it ^_^

I pick up whoever's in the show, comic, or movie alongside whatever I like. Although when I first started collecting, I picked up everything because I didn't care.
My collection is:
46.36% Autobots
41.06% Decepticons
9.27% Mini-Cons
3.31% other factions

Looking at my various display shelves, I'd have to say they're about half and half.
In Italy, at least.
My UK shelves have.. hm..
Half and half for Prime (plus Thundertron).
Only Decepticons for PCC (plus Grimstone, Animated Dinobots and Classics Grimlock).
About half and half for Animated (until the Elite Guard shows up) and the same for WfC/FoC.
Ok, I guess overall they're pretty balanced out.

I started collecting with ROTF line and most of my figures are legends class. So the main portion my collection is formed by 'Bots: seven autobots outrank four- no, three decepticons.
And one CYB. Sentinel Prime, allege him however you want.
But from bigger toys I mostly gave 'Cons a green light: Five D'cons to three Autobots.

Decepticons forever! They always get the good ****.
I'm not sure on the exact numbers, but the vast majority of my figures are Decepticons. Maybe 80%? Possibly more than that. The Cons just interest me a lot more than their Autobot counterparts.

If anything mine tends to favour the Autobots because Hasbro tends to put more of them out than 'Cons (and I don't do army building).
Plus there's that whole cabinet dedicated to Optimus Prime/Convoy

More Autobots than Decepticons because they usually get more toys. Will get whatever appears in the cartoon of the time, anything that I feels fits my Classics set and any MP's I like.
Used to buy anything that appeared in a line, the massive disappointment from the 2007 movie and toys killed that.

I actually don't know. I don't buy them based on the faction, but whether I like the figure / color scheme, and occasionally the character.

I'm mostly Autobots, because I mostly like Autobots, haha.
From SHMax:
39.78% Autobots
32.04% Decepticons
9.39% Mini-Cons
6.08% Maximals
3.31% Vehicons
2.76% Predacons
6.63% other factions
I likes my minicons.
It's kind of annoying the "other factions" number includes the human kreons and HA humans. I may have to go through and cut them from the list to get a proper number, haha.
Old fasioned games!
And new fashioned friends!
Come on everybody this is Ta-ble Flip!

The Autobots always seem to be outnumbered so I try to reflect that in my collection. After a full year of collecting TFP I've finally achieved that! The Cons have been severely outnumbered for twelve months.

This, pretty much. I mean take RTS, they didn't release a single deluxe sized 'con (Cyclonus doesn't count since he was in a two pack and a redeco).

I think it's about 60% Autobots now. When I was a kid in the 80's, though, I think I had more Decepticons. I remember thinking most Autobots were pretty bland looking compared to the more wild and sinister designs of the Decepticons, especially post movie. I liked the blacks and purples used by so many Decepticons compared to the greys and reds used by a lot of Autobots.
